- Which is better - the Ineos Grenadier or Land Rover Defender 130? This is an ongoing debate with regards to using the cars for off-roading purposes however, today we wanted to compare the two vehicles on urban roads. We also discuss our first impressions of the cars looks. You may also notice a few Urban modifications which have been added to these builds!
Special thanks to @MilltekSport for the loan of their Grenadier with Urban WX-4 wheels.

That Defender 130 really suits your kit as it doesn’t look so long with the wide track arches and rear spoiler 👌🏻
Absolutely agree
We think so too 🙌
@@UrbanAutomotive hi, how much is the whole kit with wheels?
Top Gear Dan strikes again. We need more Dan reviews.
Dan the man 🫡
super nice car INEOS Grenadiers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙🚙👍👍👍👍👍👍
Love the new segment. Culling VS Urus please.
Glad you enjoyed it - will see what we can do!
You need to do some replacement bumpers for the Grenadier !
We're still working on our Grenadier program...
Is the Defender riding on 20 or 22 here? I'm considering this for my 110, but unsure what size to go for. I'd love to use the Cooper Discoverer tyres as I'm primarily on-road with some occasional offroad.
I think grenadier missed the mark unfortunately. I’m not saying I want some plush mall crawler, I just think that the grenadier advertised itself as sort of a working persons vehicle but priced itself out of the working persons budget and priced it into the budget of someone that probably would be looking for something more plush and posh. I understand the typical working persons vehicle isn’t as off-road capable as the grenadier such as an entry level F-150 or a Toyota tundra but if the working person is on a budget the grenadier is outside of that typical budget. Then you look at the competition in the same price range as the grenadier, people looking to spend $80,000 usd on a vehicle are looking for something a little more plush and refined. So I think the grenadier has priced itself into a really tough spot. Yeah there are some working trades people who would be willing to spend that much on a grenadier but that is a very slim group of people and yeah there people who aren’t trades people that can easily afford the grenadier that would buy the grenadier for something strange and exotic but that is a very small group of people as well. If a brand is going to survive they need a large market appeal and I think that grenadier priced themselves out of that. I heard even spare parts are super expensive, how can the working person afford to keep the grenadier on the road?
Very interesting points you raise - thanks for watching the video and commenting
The grenadier is cheaper than a landcruiser in Australia
Used to own a LR Series IIA. It also had the safari roof, factory oil cooler, a few other bits that made it different than other LRs at the time. I had it in Arizona, perfect for going out in the wild. It was bulletproof. It was more rugged than any other 4 wheeler out there. I would look for the Grenadier to be just as robust. I'd be interested as it is I could see myself buying one. Rugged as hell, appealing to those that might prefer a pickup or smaller 4X4, and I'd be curious about the price. Maybe trade in my Bentley, really. And I love the Bentley.
The Ineos in this review seems to have non standard lighting, particularly the grille which has rectangular lights instead of round lights (at the 3:29 mar). Are these lights aftermarket?
On this particular vehicle, yes, the Lazerlamps are an after market addition, which is why we didn’t mention them on this review 👍🏻
The car "JETOUR TRAVELLER" is missing!!!
Grenadier designed for off roading and its uncomfortable rhd with the lump in footwell. New defender much nicer overall. Just questionable reliability.
Thanks for watching - interesting point you raise
The Grenadier is better compared to a Jeep Wrangler.
But it's up against a defender. And loses badly. Not a Jeep which are all poor by comparison!!! Keep up lol
Someone surely needs to chop a 130 up and make a modern day, Urban crew cab variant 🤩
Old Style Defender all the way
imagine not wanting the best of both worlds for off-roading + luxury
Well, you’ll not have much trouble finding a Grenadier to work on. The dealers can’t sell the demonstrators.
130 all the way, grenadier very ugly car
