Though it's just a lazy cashgrab, I really like this version of the mold, the orangish yellow gives off an actionmaster vibe that I kinda dig a lot

Yeah I totally get what you mean about the box art stuff. He’s a fine enough Cyberverse toy but seeing him in the EarthSpark toyline was kinda disappointing. I like the color scheme of him I just would have liked an actual EarthSpark iteration of Shockwave
When I saw how he transforms in the show I thought about getting the figure, until I saw that it was a pretty crappy repaint I liked the long-legged spider tank that looked like the peace walker from the metal gear series.
The reason they reused the Cyberverse mold is cos every toyline that's not Generations or AStudio Series is half-assed guff shat out onto shelves and we have to put up with it. Even SS/Generations have their shortcomings.
The Packaging isn’t not different at all in the US if your wondering, idk maybe the blue they use on the box is a lighter shade but it’s not different at all 😂

The fact Hasbro made new molds for all the figures in this wave of action figures makes this one so disappointing. I know Grimlock isn’t really new but still they bothered to change his head to be accurate and I believe they changed the shoulders on the figure. I would not mind if they did the same for Shockwave just update the torso and head and I’d be ok with the reuse of arms and legs. It’s a really a shame because Shockwave has never really had a bad design in Transformers at all and not a hard bot to mess up at all so why Hasbro did this is behind me. I guess Earthspark was a more of a lazy cash grab than an actual watchable show in their eyes 😔
Yeah, its especially sucky bc the show has a pretty strong design-sense imo atleast visually and for them to basically be like: JUST USE THE LAST KID SHOWS SHIZ feels bad. Sadly that’s the easiest most obvious way to cut costs but like it will have pretty rapid diminishing returns. Its an entirely different scenario from repainting sideswipe into redalert, this is like repainting g1 shockwave into animated shockwave, diff artstyles and vibe entirely.

I like the like cute "smiley face" on his chest XD but otherwise thats total bs, at least give em a new head sculpt 🙄
