  • Men in the UK are working fewer hours, while women are working more. Since the pandemic the average number of hours worked in the UK has dropped, especially in men. At the same time, the number of women working full time has increased, possibly due to more flexible working. Some experts believe the overall drop in working hours may be bad for the economy.

    (pick up the slack)
    - Hi! I am running out of time with my report about statistics.
    - Can you pick up the slack?
    - Yep, I can do the part of the report which you have not done yet.
    (Drive a trend)
    - Are we driving a trend of being self-employed members of the company right now?
    - Yeah, you are definitely right, we are rock.
    (Put in)
If I were you, I would put in both efforts and time to prepare for the IELTS exam.
