My favorite LeBron "what if" is when he went to the Lakers (2018) if instead, he chose the Sixers. With some tinkering, that EASILY could have been the greatest team of all time!
For more context. Ben Simmons probably had the most valuable contract in the NBA at that time. Being only 22 and still on his rookie deal. And the Sixers had enough cap space to either sign two max players or to sign one max and re-sign Jimmy Butler.
That means they could've easily traded Simmons for someone more compatible like Kristaps (and probably got the Knicks 7th overall in the deal). Tried to package Butler (via sign and trade) and picks, to target either Shai or Porter (those were my favorite players that draft), and then turned around and signed not only LeBron, but also another max free agent. Realistically, that could've ended up being Paul George, who ended up signing with the Thunder.
Conservatively, that lineup could've been Embiid, Porzingus, Porter, George, James. Three max contracts, and two rookie deals. And LeBron isn't dumb. He knows if he had done it, veterans would've taken the minimum to join, and they'd of filled out after a few mid-season buyouts. He just turned down having the greatest team ever because he wanted to live in LA that much.
That's why that Lakers championship is so crazy. He could've ruined the NBA by signing with the Sixers.
So he could go to the rockets and made a big three with cp3 and harden, would be even better than the sixers

Well if this sim actually happened I think they would consider Curry the Goat because he would have 6 Chips and 6 Finals MVP's with 3 Regular season MVP's and Have been averaging 30 points and 11 assists for almost 6 years in a row Also breaking his own 3 pointers made in a season record and the all time 3 pointers made. But lebron would still be in the Conversation and MJ would be the 3rd best all time but would still also be in the conversation

No one really knew how good Curry was going to be. Back in 2012-2014 he averaged 22-23 which is solid, but small guards can fall off just as fast as they develop. But Curry and Klay would probably be 2 of the best teammates around LeBron, definitely would've made him lose the Goat debate saying he needed Curry to win chips.
I don't think anyone can say 2016 wasn't one of the best series we've ever had.
