IKR??? Grant isn't a number one option on a contender, but he is definitely a third option. You can easily keep him, and once Cade's overall grows you have your number one option. All you need is a solid number two option, which you can add in FA due to the low payroll on this team.

Why are you tanking when they already got the first pick last year? if anything just try to make the play in with the young roster and focus on development.
As a diehard Pistons fan, this “rebuild” ticked me off. Please don’t call these rebuilds, call them “trading to a championship”. You dealt away all the core young pieces that are going to be great. Bey and Stewart are going to be fantastic NBA players, way to trade them for a bucket of mediocre bench guys.
I dare you to actually try winning a true championship by actually running a team like a real GM instead of just making a hundred trades and calling that a rebuild.
I’m sorry I sound so petty, but as a Piston this video was not it for me. I was excited to watch you build around their young core, and instead you just traded it away, it’s just lame. All the rebuilds begin to be the exact same…..
I traded Bey because his overall kept tanking and he refused to re-sign with me -- I brought him back on a qualifying deal. The reality of today's NBA is guys often request trades out from small market teams. So, if he was going to be a UFA and was not going to come back, why not trade him and get some sort of asset for him? How many times do we see guys get traded with a year left on their deal just so their original team can get something for them?
With Stewart, I pretty much stated my preference that I don't want my starting center to be in the 6'8 range. I don't think Stewart realistically projects to be a top 3 player on a contending team at any point in his career so in my eyes, what would be unrealistic would be pretending he and Cade are a real duo in my opinion. I don't disagree that he can be a good player one day, but I do not see him as a viable starting center in a playoff series against guys like Giannis or Embiid.
There are multiple pathways teams are taking to reach the mountaintop. The Lakers consolidated their young talent for AD and won a title. The Raptors traded Demar and Poetl, the latter of which was also a promising young big to win their title. The Spurs once considered George Hill, a promising young player and they traded him to get Kawhi. The Warriors traded Monta Ellis and Ekpe Udoh for Bogut; people saw that as trading core pieces at the time. Teams trade young talent all the time in the NBA for better odds at a championship. In my eyes, the NBA is incredibly unbalanced right now with stars forcing their way to big markets, for a team like Detroit I truly believe if they can make a trade that gives them a strong 2 year window, that would be better than letting talent come up slowly. Look at the Rams in the NFL right now, they're trading first round picks for superstars; that used to be considered a cardinal sin in that sport, now they're one of the best teams in the NFC. Pro sports are changing, building up young talent is not the end-all be-all team building strategy anymore.
I don't mean to write all this to justify the video as a "realistic rebuild" I'll be the first to say any NBA 2K rebuild is unrealistic. The linear nature of progression, outlandish trades, and bizarre team building strategies the CPU sometimes employs to me makes all 2K video inherently unrealistic. As always, I view the purpose of these videos to allow me to talk about my current opinions on the league and the game itself.
