It’s insane how much Drago took from the principals of this movie. Adonis lost a father and his childhood, Maryanne lost a husband, Rocky lost a friend, his health, and his fortune.

I liked how his body language changed when Maryanne started to mention Apollo.
at first he thought she was a social worker or something so he was tense and on guard
This is by far one of the BEST and most ENDEARING opening scenes of any movie 🎬!!!
This scene was so well-executed gets to the action fast, the main character introduction and distinction was concise, and it establishes the root of his personality and all this is done within two minutes.
MINOR SPOILERS
In creed 3 we learn more why Adonis always had the strong urge to fight. Its not just because he got it from his father. Its also because he was an abused child and he is carrying a personal trauma which he tries to bury. The sport gave him an outlet to use all that rage constructively.
We also learn that Mary Anne was angry for a very long time with Apollo. Loving Adonis and caring for him did help her forgive her husband. It is also suggested that before the Drago match, things were not ok between them. That Apollo might have actually planned divorce her. And though Adonis was not fully accepted by their 2 children together, he was the one who helped Mary Anne heal.

Upon rewatching a few times, you realize it's not because she thinks she's too good to be down there, it's cause this situation is so unique that she doesn't even know where to begin or explain other than "I'm not a social worker"

Adonis at this stage of his life was confused and lost and for once someone was telling him facts about his early life even through its was difficult Mary Anna was not bitter. That what he wanted love and understanding that why his fist relaxed.
Just watching previews and already crying. I love this series.

After watching Creed 3, here is what I thought. Though not explicitly said, Apollo and Mary Anne were already headed towards separation before the Drago fight. I think APollo was trying to get a separation already at that time. When Apollo died, Mary Anne never had the closure she needed. She mentions she pushed everyone away including family. This may explain why she did not have a good relationship with her own kids when they grew up. To find her closure she tracks down Apollo's mistress only to find out that she passed and her boy is in Juvie. When Mary Anne saw the resemblance, something awakened in her so she took the Adonis, and Adonis helped Mary Anne heal from it all and eventually forgive her husband.

Would have rejected mentoring him because of being burned by Tommy Gunn. Also would have been battling personal issues watching Adrian get sick and die. Rocky himself needed to heal, he got that with time and one last fight with Mason Dixon. Adonis entered his life at the best time for both of them.
At this point in the story, Rocky didn’t know about Adonis. The only person who knew was Mary Anne.
What I always appreciated about this scene that it showed the true colors of Mary-Anne. Lets be real. How many widows... WEALTHY widows in this day and age would allow their husbands side chick's troublesome son to come stay with them? As for me, I'll be honest. I'm mature enough to know its not the kids fault. I love my husband VERY much and can see myself pulling this stunt. Might be a bad call, but still I would do it. But I know SO many people who wouldn't. Would you? be honest lol

We understand more about this in Creed 3. Though not explicitly explained, it is suggested that Mary Anne for a long time was so angry with Apollo. If I have to guess, their marriage was already falling apart before that match with Drago. That he was already planning to leave her (Perhaps really divorce her?). When he died, Mary Anne was depressed. But finding Adonis, loving and caring for him did help her heal and forgive. If I also have to guess, she did track down Adonis' Mother so that she could confront her and have closure. Learning that she too already passed, he finds Adonis and his resemblance to his Dad awakened something in her.
"I was angry with Apollo." He passed away for real until Adonis Creed was already born. RIP Apollo Creed.

I just kind of wish creeds / Maryanne's real kids were in this movie... like in passing. Even if they/Maryanne spoke about them. In Rocky ll you saw Apollo had 2 kids. And in Rocky lV director cut you see Maryanne sitting next to a young boy and girl...their kids at Apollo's funeral.
Creed lll was alright, not as good as the first 2, but it was okay.
Cool dramatic videos game anime style fighting. The storyline was great, but it was just too..clean looking, everything looked pristine in Donnie's life. It's hard to explain in Tex.
It didn't feel like the first 2 Creed movies. Something was Missing. And I don't mean Rocky. It just fell flat. But it's watchable.👍🏻🥊

I see what you’re saying but the other kids were pointless. There was no need to explain them. Adonis had his father talent. It also gave Us a back story to Apollo Creed. His wife Mary Ann has a meaning now by taking him in and raising him. It leads to Him finding Rocky and getting into boxing. Everything is perfect going from Rocky franchise to the now Creed franchise.

I rooted for Killmonger, made me understand Namor, didn't rooted for Conlan in the first film and proved that Creed can be the underdog and won the night, and I was rooting for Drago even though Coogler wasn't involved in the second film

Yeah... This is not how fights looks like in juvi. At least not here, cannot speak about US. In reality most inmates would just sit/lay down on the ground because you can get in some serious trouble for cheering them up like this. And despite the popular believe that everyone behind the bars is some aggressive animal most people actually just want to do their time.
at the end of the day it's still a movie, people are used to certain things in movies and the writers and directors just what people except despite how real it is
The one thing that I didn’t like was that they turned Apollo Creed into a cheater. It just doesn’t feel right for the character. It honestly would have been better if Adonis was Marianne’s biological son as well, just raised in secret so he wouldn’t be pushed to follow in his father’s footsteps.
