    Great video! I was skeptical before remapping my ep3. I then drove one that was mapped and just ordered parts and did it. 3 years later and still loving it. Looking forward for more ep3 and S2k content.

    I'm running a solid fab big bore manifold/full system, rbc inlet, skunk2 throttle body, hybrid racing cold air intake, skunk2 cams, skunk2 valve springs and retainers, the head has been skimmed also, kPro v4, RC 440cc injectors aswell as some other bits. Mapped by Jesse Jcal at 282bhp and 188ftlb

      @@OllyRoss we have a channel ourselves "Accelerate" and have built it for track. I do use it on the road though. Also had an M Factory race pack Diff and 5.3 Final drive. Done our first track day at Llandow Circuit last Saturday and the car performed brilliantly. Thanks for the reply. Your videos gave me good advice for when I was looking for mine 👍

    Good option for flexibility. Solid Fab 421 manifold : option to have just a flexi or a 200 cell cat, TDI North 3" catback : option to have a mid silencer or a 400 cell cat , re-packable mid silencer (made by JP Exhausts Ltd). With the TDI catback, It's quiet when driving sensibly and it does get louder when not. I'm just providing this information to let others know if they're looking.

    In my opinion, the easiest way to get big power on a budget with a k20 is: tegiwa full exhast+skunk2 ultra inlet+tegiwa intake box + an ecu to map and you can expect 245-250bhp. I'm personally running the mentioned above setup + 70mm throttle body + rdx 410cc injectors + kpro ecu and went out 254bhp with Romain(racecal).

  • @BenLMitchell
    @BenLMitchell Před 2 lety +1

    Im only running 210bhp, ish with a 4-2-1, 2.25" mid section with a pea shooter style back box with a Tegiwa induction kit but the noise is perfect. 250 mile trips to meets are more than doable and when you get above 5k, it just makes you smile

    Great video. This is just wat Im looking to do with my EP3. The stock map is quite bad, but very amusing with that vtec kick. I pretty much use mine for track days, so the only thing left to do is engine mods. I want to keep stock internals, as that generally means more problem free exploitation. Got oil sump baffle and the rest is just general maint like bearings, chains and all that. I'm pretty sure, that I can shave off more than a second on the local race track with a proper remap. 1 long and 2 short straights, also 2 hairpins where the vtec drop off is very bad.
    The EP3 is a joy to drive in the proper environment. I used to think that selling my EG6 was the worst decision in my life, but getting the EP3 brings me the same joy, even though it is a bit slower on track. It just fills the void left when I sold one of the best cars Ive owned.

    • @OllyRoss
      @OllyRoss  Před 7 měsíci +1

      You may see more than a second. I gained around 50hp in the midrange and that has been the most noticeable difference. Fully worth it! You will love the car even more once it is mapped!

    I had S2 Pro intake manifold, S2 TB, Teg M intake, Tegiwa exhaust manifold and TDI North 3" catback on my DC5 and it made 251bhp and did a 13.6 at Santa Pod with this setup (only 225 tyres and full weight). Eventually I swapped the exhaust for a Fujitsubo RM01A which sounded much nicer and it was so much lighter. I didn't tweak the map and didn't notice any difference in power. Unless you care about pub figures (which you shouldn't in cars like these) then I'd get a nice free flowing JDM exhaust for the sound and weight difference over a 3" stainless system

  • @joshtw7865
    @joshtw7865 Před 2 lety

    I've got a pipercross 421 exhaust manifold which allows for easy interchangeable decat / sports cat pipe, no chopping welding or system swapping required 😉 I have a M2 2.5 inch catback system which, upon mapping I ran into a similar problem to you, Olly. For induction kit I have been recommended a 3" system, the less pipe bends the better. Skunk2 Pro series inlet manifold which is literally bolt in, no chopping your engine bay up like you have to do with the skunk2 ultra. At least a 70mm throttle body too

    I'm running 196 WHP/ 227BHP with a Japspeed 4-2-1 / Genuine Spoon B pipe & And Resonator and genuine Spoon Exhaust.
    Just a Tegiwa induction up front with a DynoDaze map.
    I went for sound more then max power.
    Also only run Millers oils and V power.
    I think WHP is more important then BHP with these cars.
    Ive seen EP3s with higher Horsepower but lower Wheel power???
    When's the Civic meet????

    Dropping my bolt-ons in the comments
    Piper 421 with race cat for less MOT issues and passed 3 times since 2020. Tegiwa intake, rbc inlet, m2 silenced catback although not very silent which are actually 2.3 inch not 2.5 all mapped with k100 which was supplied and mapped by cpl racing In sheerness and made 238.3 they did say exhaust was restricting me and to get a better CAI like injen etc and would see 245 easy as the engine was very healthy being under 100k back then. • @OllyRoss
      @OllyRoss  Před 2 lety

      I guess it depends on what you want the car for. I have heard from someone that has had both and they said the FN2 is a better daily but the EP3 is a more raw drivers car. Personally I would choose the EP3 as it will probably be worth more in the future too. The FN2 is a good car though!
