You should definitely do more of these videos. The guide to every deck in every format videos are very good primers and can certainly give a fairly good analysis of the decks but a more in-depth video like this is also very interesting. It's kind of like a mix between your matchup videos and your normal guides. It also has a lot of different areas you can explore and I'm sure must be more fun to make sense you can sort of go back to your video essayist roots

From the lists I seen, Zoo is a more aggressive deck that benefits from Scion of Draco being in play with, with beaters like Territorial Kabu and Mantis Riders and some lists play Shardless Agent and Bloodbraid Elf for value. How do they match up against each other or Zoo isn't just significant enough in the meta?
Elementals and Zoo aren't comparable. Zoo would be better compared to decks like Burn and Death's Shadow. Zoo is quite bad imo. It's not doing anything better than other aggro or tempo decks and is worse in multiple ways.

This is an excellent video. I wonder what a deck built entirely around Eldritch Evolution and cards like Scion of Draco or Scornful Egotist would look like.

gonna spam this video to everyone at my LGS and RCQs who still played the deck post Y'orion ban. Many 4c Blob players were playing like 77 cards in the main without Y'orion. It was dumb. I hope this deck rots away for good so I never have to deal with it again.
I know it's not really relevant anymore but eladamri's call is amazing with orvar, as it allows you to in response to archon of cruelty grab your silver bullet. You might not like it in the initial 80, but when you look at it as a full 95 that one interaction shores up your matchup against the best deck in the format. Also Endurance itself is still a 3 mana 3/4 with reach. If you don't have an omnath in hand playing it on turn 4 to disrupt dragon rage channelers during their combat can be very effective. While it's not as back breaking as it is against dredge, that is still a very nice disruption tool that also survives against bolt. But if they're burning a unholy heat in order to keep their attacker, you're reducing their damage and setting their graveyard back in midgame where it would be used to either fuel further murktides or give DRCs their punch.

I'm going to disagree on the Endurance take. Endurance isn't in elementals to be pitchcast. It's in elementals to be hardcast. It's a wall against burn, it blocks every creature in Murktide and delays Murktide, it's a way to reset your OWN graveyard in matchups that are so grindy that decking becomes an issue...
This type of Elementals deck is an adaptation of a control deck. It has cut Counterspell effects and now it's finding out why control decks run those. They deal with combos and specific problem cards without needing to run a suite of hate cards maindeck and a tutor effect to fetch them. The downside is you sometimes can't completely tap out on your turn for a greedy risen reef.
Essentially, there are 2 versions of Omnath pile (not counting 60 vs 80). One is the classic Elementals list, the other is closer to UW Control splashing for W&6, Expressive Iteration, and Omnath.
This is why I play Historic. Screw Standard and all the hellfire "Top 3 Meta Deck" bullshit that comes with each rotation. I love my dinosaurs, elementals, older dragons, and just generally older cards that im always improving with each new set cuz that's how the game used to be played and intended to be back in the older days. Now everything is "Pay this most absolute broken combo" crap.
Hey ammi. What's your opinion on izzet prowess? Literally so many people at my lgs play the deck and it's rly good. Why do you think it's not a top 2% deck even?
Would you mind sharing your decklist you said you enjoyed playing around 37:00 minutes? I know you said it was too inconsistent, but if you say it was fun, I'd like to try it. Maybe I could find a way to improve its consistency as well. I'd certainly like to try.

Inkmoth Nexus can activate its 1 Mana ability to regain flying. “If the equipped creature gains flying after Colossus Hammer became attached to it, it will keep flying.”

Not IMO. The deck is of course still powerful but I think it has too many bad matchups and Blood Moon is a major problem.

IMO Prowess is just worse than Burn. You have to fight Burn on 2 angles, whereas Prowess you only need removal or blockers.

Usually hammer will flash in the hammer after blockers
Hammer can flash in equipment via Sigarda's Aid after no blockers are declared (e.g. onto Ornithopter) or activate Inkmoth again to re-give it flying.
Hope this deck dies completely and stays dead
