    You could make that bed 10 times easier by simply putting a cable or 550 cord on the side and have an eyelet on the bed that they quickly hook to. and all you have to do is lift the bed. Hook those eyelets and they will hold the bed while you fold the legs and put the ratchet strap on it.

    Love the Murphy bed. Add an attachment point above the window for a short strap with hooks to hold the bed up in the middle when raising it. Need not be tight or vertical yet. Now the bed stays up while you fold the legs and attach the ratchet strap. No more fighting the bed weight while attaching the strap!
    In any case, Happy Camping!
    One suggestion from another hunter because of your heater. Add one or two CO detectors….. just in case.

      Thank you. Great suggestions. I think I’ll add a strap. Never thought about that before. That would make it a lot easier to hold up to the wall while strapping it down.

      Thank you! I needed a trailer large enough for my RZR. But honestly I bought a smaller trailer first and then we decided we wanted a bathroom too. So I upgraded from a 16’ to a 20’. The problem is that I currently have a 1/2 ton truck, and it sure makes it work!!!

It has a little black water tank that detaches and is easy to dump at a dump station or septic clean out. It has a water tank up top and can flick with pumping. Not perfect but it’s much better than a bucket! lol. I have a link to it in the description.

    I really like your setup. I also have a 20ft trailer and a 4seat RZR and plan on doing something like this. First question; how thick is your mattress? Second question; without the initial cost of the trailer, how much should I expect to spend doing something similar? I am trying to justify this route to my wife versus getting a separate camper. Thanks for the video.

    • @OurLifeInTrees
      @OurLifeInTrees  Před měsícem +1

      Great questions, I’ll need to go measure the mattress and the one I bought we ended up not using and went with a bigger one and then added a mattress topper.
      I think we are around $13k to $15k all in. I should figure it up some day. That does include the $7k purchase price of the trailer and some of that is camping “stuff” not permanent with the trailer.

    • @OurLifeInTrees
      @OurLifeInTrees  Před 6 měsíci

      Thank you. It’s a Continental V-Series. Before Covid, I paid $6800 new for it. I think they sell for over $10k now. I wouldn’t recommend doing a conversion on a Continental due to them using “hell nails”. They are the nails they used to attach the interior plywood. They look like screws with a Phillips head, but they are ribbed nails and are hell to pull out. Wow, what a pain. A few evenings of ripping out the interior plywood and I hated the nails. We learned it was an easier to use a prybar to rip them through the plywood. Then pull the nails out of the metal studs. It was a pain and took two people and a lot of muscle. lol

      @@OurLifeInTrees thanks for the info, I also have been looking at the weeroll cargo trailers ,they come with a few outlets installed, including 12v and USB, you can option in a max air fan , 30amp service, and they insulte the ceiling and walls with 1 in foam, 5 rv windows are standard and you can get a vinyl wood looking floor. They're all aluminum and I've heard very good things about them they also have a few other options you can get but they are a little pricey probably about 32,000, the roof is one piece that rolls over the side and is guaranteed for life never to leak no seams dual axles upgraded off-road tires etc. That price I quoted was for a 20 footer, there's a few other things I didn't list in that price, it's a v- nose with a wraparound aluminum counter in front.

Most recently I pulled it with my Escalade. 6.2l, 6L80e and AWD. It pulled fine but the short wheelbase I feel is a bit sketchy and stay under 60mph.
