Bernard we are on the same page as far as edc and slings. My current sling is a 1733 bucket bag. It reminds me of the arcteryx bag you are using and has a similar opening style and aesthetic. It has a slip pocket in the back interior and a hidden front zip pocket on the front for extra organization. It also can be stored flat in a laptop compartment or folded up or rolled super compact. It’s large enough to easily carry my extended EDC: an A6 Makr Midori notebook, Analogue Pocket in Waterfield magnetic case, Boox Palma and air pods.
Also try out arc company pocket edc slips. I edc one Arc Co Boulder Wallet in each front pocket because I prefer smaller dedicated edc tools over heavy multi tools and since they are in slips that conform to the shape of your leg you don’t even feel them. It allows you to access the tools quickly/seamlessly and return them to your pocket just as quick with the benefit of the tools not touching/scratching. I still wear slim pants (outlier strong dungarees) and you can’t even tell the slips are in my pocket despite how tight my pants are.
Also love the MRG, I picked up the MRG B5000R-1 when it dropped a couple months ago and I have worn it everyday since. I love how subtle and invisible it is. Just looks like a plain black g shock especially since it has a rubber strap.
Since we have such similar tastes i am gonna look at your recs!! Always good to hear from you, thanks for tuning in Mike
In Europe, I used as EDC for wallet cellphone charger edc. Fantastic. In states not so much, but if traveling yes.
Good discussion...however, some actual bags or photos &/or illustrations of same would have been good...😊
I have an old version of the north face field bag, its a very rectangle one, but it's really convenient. It flips around and the zippers are on top and easy to access. Great for a mini-diaper bag if you have kids, great to bring to the pool when you want your wallet phone and keys out of your pocket, and it really excels for travel so you can have your passport and wallet and everything all in one spot and don't have to empty all your pockets when going through security. I think I'd carry it more regularly but I don't love how the cross-body strap kinda wrinkles up your shirt in the front so I really only carry it when I need more than what I can fit in my pockets.
Alpaka Flight sling, for a small bag but still able to hold a IPad mini… for a bit more the new Tomtoc wanderer T26
i rock either the snack time data crew sling for a little larger sling and the blue ridge bum bag for a smaller sling.
It's not even pocket overflow. Sometimes you only have a small amount of things and taking a backpack is overkill. My reader needs a bag. My small notebook needs a bag. My small tablet needs a bag. But that's not enough to carry a backpack.
