Gentlemen I am speechless. Having been a guitarist I understand the time involved to perform at this level, and I never attained it. Joscho and Tommy, thank you and may the Lord richly bless you and keep you safe.
For most of my 76 years, I have taken especial pleasure in watching people do what they do well -- and particularly if they are enjoying doing same, as these two maestros so obviously are.
No pedals, just pure talent. Very heart- warming to witness such a perfect duo playing in harmony....

What a tempo, but the great thing is the sheer musicality, playfulness and abundance of energy these two men delivers - WOW!
I admire Tommy Emmanuel more and more......he’s totally at ease playing with the likes of Martin Taylor and Richard Smith who are totally different again. He’s a bloody great guitarist... end of. Mind you, Joscho is the same.....happy to play with anyone. We, the listeners, benefit.
RIDICULOUS amount of talent on that stage.

Joscho and Tommy should definitely give more concerts, they really work nice together.
Tommy the all-round brilliant entertainer never fails to put a smile on my face, absolutely incredible. Joscho is hard to describe for me, almost perfect but not in the dull sense. He makes me hold my breath and tip my head from side to side like a cat observing something it hasn´t seen before. The clarity he displays at speed is astonishing and the feeling is down to how the listener interprets it. I believe we are witnessing one of the greatest guitarists in history and he has so much more to give. I can imagine the purists smirking at my opinion but this guy gives a whole new meaning to ´Guitar God´.

As Joscho Stephan was saying, his right hand is by far the most important.

Who cares about purists? Both of these men are great guitarists and they obviously love playing together. Tommy can play in pretty much any style and Joscho is a worthy successor to Django in the gypsy style updated for the 21 century. His technique is immaculate
Django is smiling down on these two greats. Image him as the third guitarist in this set! ohhhhh myyyyy gooooodness! what ear pleasure that would have been!
Lots of respect for Joscho Stephan. His notes are so clean and full of expression.
I LOVE Tommy's rhythm playing. I hear those walking basslines and they are sick
Two things nobody mentions about Joscho, he's maybe the solidest rhythm player on the planet and he has a most beautiful and unique tone of anyone.

tommy is up there with the best playing rhythm. he's got a real touch and so good makes the other guy look good .
In the acoustic guitar world it doesn',t get more exciting than this!!! These two guys keep 99.999% of us guitar players humble!

I have been obsessed with his right hand technique for years, to me it's flawless and so relaxed.

Lists are for one reason only: to make the reader feel that his opinion is in sync with “experts”. Rolling Stone ceased to be relevant about music and culture years ago. On the other hand, they publish for American readers, most of whom have never heard of Emmanuel or Stephan. But the point is well taken. Many terrific artists never are recognized for their art. They still produce, they still influence, and people willing to discover music new to them, are rewarded. Manouche didn’t reach me until I was in my 60s. Knocked me over. Came from rock and was impressed with the speed. I have stayed for the melody and rhythm. LaGrene, the Rosenbergs, and others have given me a whole new reason to buy and listen to music. Rolling Stone has nothing to do with what I appreciate. 50 years ago, yeah. Today, not on your life!
I believe this kind of jam-session is an elixir-of-life for Tommy. As soon as he can travel and do concerts and jam-sessions again, he will recover quite quickly. Good health and best wishes to Tommy from Marcus, Austria
Yowser these two guitar giants same stage the audience must have been completely astounded. Love Tommys walking bass line and driving back beats and Joschos improve is tastefully and technically astonishing

I rarely see Joscho hold such a timid yet excited composure with other musicians but Tommy is definitely a next-level beast.
What these two guys have cannot be learnt. They are at one with their instrument. Extraordinary talent.
Two giants, heads above the clouds. "Who is better" is a nonsensical question. We are privileged to hear anything of this kind.

Genius is the first word that comes to mind. Mr Emanuel I watched you live in Sydney in the late seventies, including in your brothers band Gold Rush and you have become one of the very best guitar all rounder. May you keep on playing for a long, long time. Thank you.
I think it reflects well on both that if I look away from the screen I don't always immediately know who's playing, aside from the different tones and panning of the guitars. A duo of infectious brilliance.
I like the way Tommy let Stephan play all the hard bits.

I love this video so much! Everything about is amazing. The talent, the performance, the flawless geniuses at work and just an incredible energy. What a tempo, but the great thing is the sheer musicality, playfulness and abundance of energy - GREAT!
I really am touched by the energy, musicality and the little and yet great thing that can only be felt when Joscho Stephan improvises and what makwes me recognise him, furthermore it makes me happy or even cry. Joscho is a heart player with a great technique and he communicates his soul so well through the music he is passioned about! Music is so much more the clean notes, speed, compare and even emotion. There is a spiritual side as well and I am also revering to that.
What a treat.
Tommy can mix it with anyone.
Joscho, Tommy & Stochelo. 3 players with otherworldly gifts but seem completely ego free and just love to play with others and see them shine.

I don't know why, but I "feel" like they each express themselves in their guitars according to how it is set up... Like the tone of their guitars match what they are playing... Just breathtaking!
All you guitarists out there who think loud distorted shredding is the way a guitar should sound take a listen to this. No gimmicks, no pedals, just pure talent. This is what guitar playing is all about.

What you are seing here is the acoustic guitar played to within inches of its life by two masters. Mr. Joscho Stephan as far as I am concerned, you are the guitar (when I think of acoustic guitar, I think of you sir, I know of none better).
No warm up here, they star burning from note one. Tommy Emanuel is the best complement to Joscho who burns every note at lightning speed with absolutely clarity.
