Thank you ! Just bought the Adobe Illustrator 5 min ago while wathing this tutorial. I am used to work in Photoshop with png shirt files - and converted it to svg online. But now I want to make them in Illustrator :-) I had 39 orders in my etsy shop in only 7 days so there is money to be made on svg files. (In Photoshop the "export av svg" files does NOT work in Design space or any other cutting machine.)

Just the way I learned to do it. I don’t think I’ve ever to outline.
When I save the file, if I have a letter that isn't touching, like the W in Welcome, it shows them as separate cuts. I followed all your directions but it still shows them as separate files in Cricut DS. (On the cutting mat, it shows the W separate from the elcome). How do I get them all to be one cut? Could it be that I'm working in Illustrator CS6?
You need to weld them either in ai or in ds.

Great Video! I have a question regarding once the file is saved and you go to open in via Silhouette Studio. When I drag and drop the SVG file to Studio it allows me to still move the words around as if they aren't welded together. is that normal?
The words or the letters? You have to combine them if you want them welded.
