With enough practice you can sound like anything, I'm a big bald guy and I can do a convincing girls voice, like scary convincing xD. Half of us be chill as hell the other half when we see them we’re thinking “I understand I some people hate band kids” o have to deal with this and this dude literally almost broke my sousaphone I rented from the school while I was doing something for my teacher and when I tell you they are almost 5 thousand dollar instruments give or take.

Absolute legend. We used to play "Crazy Train" in the stands in between the approved songs. Band director finally got tired of telling us to stop and got the rights to it lol.
in our pep band crazy train is one of the tunes we play at football games when something good happened for our team. one time some kid on the other team had a horrible injury while one of our kids intercepted the ball from him and we played crazy train while he rolled in pain on the ground. can't imagine how that must've felt but our band director told us we weren't going to be playing at any of the games against that school for the rest of the year

I played Alto and in our class, the first day, our director said "If you play Careless Whisper, you will get detention". We found out that each year, each class would do it when she least expected it so it would stick with her. Needless to say, each year we played it and was hilarious each time.
I feel like when an authority figure says "don't do [whatever]", it becomes like a dare for you to do it. People can't help their curiosity. But if they never mentioned not to do this thing, you wouldn't even think about it. Therefore, you absolutely did the right thing. And I think your teacher deep down WANTED you to play it 😂

In middle school, my friend Ethan was working the lights and sound bored for our schools play. At the very end as the parents went to congratulate their kids on a roll well played, Ethan turned down the lights and put careless whisper on the speakers. Iconic.
As someone who can actually plays the saxophone well, I will have you know that we get pissed off every time someone asks us to play it. This kid is like 12 yrs old, has a cheap rental saxophone, and played the song in a lower key because he probably found the normal way too difficult. I also hate it when people only play or appreciate the beginning of the song and not the rest. Have a nice day

Oh man! I have been out of band for nearly 40 years and I will never forget the clipboard 📋 being thrown all the way across the practice field!!! My band director (which I love and respect to this day) was a pro. Sometimes he went for distance, but he had a signature move and threw it like skipping rocks. He could easily get 3 skips in 1 throw, depending upon how mad at us he was! 😂

Lol I miss band so much I still have my trumpet.

In fact, improvisation and adjusting parts can make a good instrumentalist as well. And it's good that he even changed the key to match the song, rather than just playing it. Good day.

Oh man! I have been out of band for nearly 40 years and I will never forget the clipboard 📋 being thrown all the way across the practice field!!! My band director (which I love and respect to this day) was a pro. Sometimes he went for distance, but he had a signature move and threw it like skipping rocks. He could easily get 3 skips in 1 throw, depending upon how mad at us he was! 😂

@potatozinc I've seen a chalkboard eraser thrown into the bell of a tuba, one of the twirlers knocked out our director with a baton on accident, the directors hat flying onto the football field as we messed up our marching spots, and the director leaping off his podium and flying thru the band room, splitting the stands to each side of the room like Moses and the red sea just to tell one of the drumline girls to spit her gum out. Lol I miss band so much I still have my trumpet.
I've seen a baton taken apart, and the cork yeeted at the drummer's head. He still didn't look up. Band was fun. 😂
