Brit understands the opportunities and challenges of that as well as anyone: she regularly approaches her projects as an actor, a writer, and a producer. Mostly recently, she created, co-wrote, produced, and starred in Netflix's hit series The OA.
Issa is proof that CZcams didn't kill the TV star-quite the opposite, in fact. Based on the success of her CZcams web series Awkward Black Girl, Issa has gone on to co-create and star in HBO's critically acclaimed series Insecure. This is the second time i saw issa and brit together. First they were interviewing each other, now both become the center of attention. Cannot express my admiration for both smart women and the great series they're both wrote and acted in. Love love love them both!
I remember Issa Rae's Awkward Black Girl on CZcams, it was like nothing else on the web at the time, with a humble cult like following. To see where she is now, her success and how incredible Insecure is writing wise and for the culture. Issa girl, you did that! ✨
