For those who don't know, when RT tried to breed Tofu and Frantic the game just couldn't comprehend the abominations that were created, so it crashed and lost about 40 minutes of progress. Lesson learned, always save.

To be fair, it's a pretty niche word if you aren't otherwise familiar with insect life cycles, and I would probably pronounce it as pup-ate as well in the context of this game

Yep, it's possible for dogs to have a missing leg or two, and that just makes it sillier when they get multiple leg pairs :p

That's what butterflies do. And the eggs... Uh...
If you feed them cocoons, they get more mutations. You also get more by petting the cocoon while they're pupating. Just in case you ever give it another go.
"Where do babies come from mommy?" Well you see Timmy, giant atavistic statues rise from the ground and smash various people together over eggs, and out of the egg babies are born!

Really great comic! It's got a rather simplistic art style but when it wants to be impressive it can be impressive. Not to mention the characters are just really solid overall

the fact that dan got six legs so quickly-
another youtuber, therm (who i recommend if you like stardew valley and wobbledogs, plus the occasional terraria) has been playing this game for a while and only recently got spots and tails-
and here's dan immediately getting six legs with his first breeding-

I’m obsessed with therm’s wobbledog wednesdays so seeing rt play this got me excited
Apparently, if you pair two very different-looking dogs in the breeding simulator, it increases the chance that you'll be able to go on and thus reduce stability. Low stability is where all the best mutations happen. I think this was mentioned in Therm's videos too, so yeah, something to keep in mind if you really want to mess with your dogs' genes. :p

I got one with wings at 2.4 hours. I cannot wait for therm to get one with them, he's the reason I got the game in the first place.

Watching Tofu’s birth in real time was unnerving, surreal, and I could not take my eyes off the screen
0:46 If they behaved like caterpillars (which does actually seem to be a big source of inspiration), that green goo would actually be the transitional form between its juvenile and mature life phases. And opening it that early would kill it. Fun times!
The eclosion meconium is also accurate!
I mean, if you think about it, this game is just a condensed dog Predigree maker since it shows all the health issues that can come about if you aren't careful with picking the partners when breeding the dogs when you're looking for specific, desired traits.
Really hope Dan returns to this game and we get to see more of Wensleydale!

Pretty accurate to real life breeding, take the least functional and cross with the other least functional until you have dogs that can barely live

This was one of the best streams I have ever watched live. The unpredictability of how cursed things become in Wobbledogs is rivaled only by Bugsnax.
I had a wobbledog in this game named Goblito. He was smaller than every other pup I had (also had a small-ass head) and had a Squidward nose. He lived longer than some of the juveniles and pups. I cried when he finally died
Those dog genetics are rather tame for wobbledogs standarts.

I think this is the first rtgame video that actually disturbed me. I don't know why I could laugh my ass off about the human blender but seeing the poor dogs howl and die was too much
I think its because dogs are inherently intimate to us, we have dogs and our neighbors may have dogs as a pet.
You barely ever see mass murder in a ridiculous fashion such as the human blender.
Same reason why rape in video games feel more disturbing than murder, you've seen or know examples of this, it can happen to you or your close ones. Murder is possible but feels more distant.

I joined the stream around the time he was crossing Randy with OH GOD and by the time he got to Trouble I had to stop watching. I don't usually get squicked by body horror but something about those mutated dogs was unbearably distressing.
The game itself feels like a bit too much, at least for me
@@cyncynshop Uh. Nah I'm gonna go out on a limb and say thats not true at all, murder is just about as possible to imagine or happen. By this logic someone stealing your bike should be more disturbing than reading up on imperial japanese war crimes and... it's not. Murder and theft just arent that disturbing compared to other things.
Of course when it comes to human blenders thats just a matter of comicalness
but if you made a dog blender you better believe people would still find it uncomfortable cause people just like dogs more than humans.

We need a series of wobbledogs, I want to see what devious experiments RT will put upon dogs with wings or dogs without back legs, or dogs that literally can’t do anything without the players help.
I love wobbledogs but usually have trouble focusing on super long streams of it (cuz it's a bit of a slow game). So this short cut version is very enjoyable

As someone who knows quite some things about genetics and how all this works with the genetic inheritance of the offspring, mutation and evolution, this is painful yet entertaining at the same time.

I’ve been playing this game so much lately and I was shocked to see one of my favorite CZcams people playing it too! Please play more Wobbledogs!
Also, if you keep your dogs in some sort of enclosure (like setting aside one of your rooms or part of a room with the walls) and only feed them one thing consistently, it becomes a lot easier to manage what they evolve into. The poop and body parts cause random mutations, though. Also, the cocoon genes can merge with other genes to improve their functions, but left on their own they can cause leg number mutations and other random things. Hope that helps!
So far, I’ve evolved monstrous 12-legged pancake dogs, bee dogs, and fat pink cerberus, and I’m well on my way to having a dog with no legs. This game is a nightmare and it’s beautiful.

A friend and I while watching grew increasingly irritated and tired of it within minutes. Just fucking let'em go, man.
What he was doing -- and what the game itself naturally invites -- was already cursed and perfectly entertaining enough, the literal torture chamber overstayed it's welcome and just became annoying and disappointing.
I still feel like something really dark is about to happen all the time in this game.

Imagine this as a mod to Spore instead. Each time you evolve during the creature stage, rather than choosing the changes the game goes through a few generations of random simulation and you choose which result you like best.

Ive played this game and you can go much, much further. I’m talking giant dogs that take up the entire screen, dogs with like 9 heads, dogs with wings, dogs with both far too many legs or no legs, and my personal favourite: long boy with even longer tail
