I think of this studio space as an ever evolving project... and certainly my biggest project ever. I have learned so much managing this place through a lot of ups and downs. I would not be here without the people watching my videos and supporting me so thank you so much to the people that do, and those who have followed my journey. Change is the only constant in life and I am so excited to swtich things up with STUDIO SLEW. Again to clarify this is just a new venture im trying to build on top of the stuff I already do. I am super passionate about trying to create a space for people to be inspired, entertained, and learn art. That was the point of my CZcams channel from the start! Now I am motivated to create a space IN PERSON not just on the internet. I will always make CZcams videos of my personal projects... i cant not haha! But just really excited for the future of contuning what I love to do and trying to build something new. Nothing but love! -SLEW

As a former New Yorker, I can attest that $4,500 per month for that space is FANTASTICALLY CHEAP!! There are one room apartments in Manhattan, studio apartments, that rent for that amount each month, (depending on their locations, etc.).
I get that New York is New York, job opportunities, culture, yada yada yada... but paying that for rent still sounds incredibly dumb
@@billypilgrim1 It's not "dumb," it's what you have to pay to live in NYC. Yes, there are cheaper apartments to be found, but they are harder and harder to find. Actually, for that apartment--in Manhattan--the rent is not really too outlandish.
@@robertcook2680 It's not dumb if you have the money to pay for it. If you're a regular artist, with no 500k youtube channel or a safety net back at home to bail you out in case you have a rough month, it's incredibly stupid.
@@billypilgrim1 But, as you point out, an artist who could not afford that rent would not rent a studio for that sum. Their lack of funds would prohibit their doing something so "dumb." He or she would have to find a studio within his or her price range. It would not be such a grand space, but such a grand space is not necessary to do one's work. Nice, but not necessary.
@@robertcook2680 also, slew said it in some older videos, it is not needed, he could make it work in a small space, but only for him, and that's not what he wanted. He is an artist who wants to pass knowledge and be useful to the art comunity. People don't get that.
Doing an ad read for Filmora while editing on Premiere Pro is top shelf comedy.
Seeing what you've built over the years is an inspiration. Thank you
Just when I think you've reached your mountain top, you find a taller mountain! Each iteration is better than the last! I'm going to need the t-shirt and some Studio Slew stickers!😉 I love these long format videos!
The curse of non stop switching it up !
I visited the studio last wednesday and it’s a fantastic space. Absolutely loved it ❤
I believe a lot of artist who watch artists gets nervous, it happens to me watching your videos. Makes me want to question where am I going and in a good way you truly make stunning videos and I can't get disturbed watching every posted videos definitely @Slew 😅😅❤❤❤❤
I just wonder how tf did this man learn so fields of art/engineering while selling art, editing videos and improving. Goated
❤❤❤
I post art videos that I make in my room on my iphone with the help of a couple tripods and an overhead stand. One reason I didn’t start earlier was because I thought I needed all this equipment and cameras but honestly slew is right, you don’t really need a whole lot 🥰
Phil Collins might say … it’s your “SLEW- SLEW- SLEWDIO”. Thumbs up if you know what the hell that means!! 😝
I pay $850 per month for my big Tattoo Studio That has my whole House connected to it in the back in Northern Wisconsin. $4500 here could get you a warehouse bigger then 10huns Studio with a house connected to it lol. New York is not worth it man. You want to put that money into equity while you're young and not into someone elses pocket
I just saw this video and wanted to say congratulations to you for making a dream come true! You are awesome!
Linda H
Your dedication and work ethic is awesome.
Work work work!
This is stunning, is great to have seen the whole process of it. everything archieved was made out of hardwork. Slew you are the G.O.A.T
Thank you so much for creating this video. You have answered all the questions I had about lighting, camera equipment and editing software. It is almost like you read my mind. 😂😊
Part of me was thinking that it is a shame you can't do a deal with your landlord that would mean that eventually you would own your studio.
I have been thinking for a few years about shared creative spaces, where like minded people can go to create larger artworks. Take part in classes. Form a community. What you are doing encapsulates all that. You have the vision to make it work.
When you first start something it feels overwhelming and chaotic. I think it is meant to be that way. You are building something amazing.
I will definitely come and visit. Everything is in limbo at the moment with waiting to hear when we can move into our new place. I am so egar to start on a new adventure.
Wishing you success SLEW. You are living the dream. ❤🎉
Booya! Loved the video Slew. So cool to see your studio growing and thriving.
Incredible passion, art, studio and community SlewdiO!Inspiring work 🔥 your hard work always shows through!
Booya! I just have to say, you are going to change lives and I can’t wait to watch.
As an aspiring artist this made me teary eyed wow
i was nearly sick when i heard 4500 a month, cant imagine the stress you have some months, hope you keep smashing it and it becomes a breeze to pay for
Amazing studio, a lot of work, great art... just classic painting ! God bless you. Hello From Slovakia
❤
4:06 ❤ the photo area
"Up in the Slewdio, just Me and My paint,
ME AND MY PAINT,
me and my paint."
Amazing studio, all artists would be jealous of...I know I am!
Only $4,500? I'm jealous! Last I read, average apartment rent here in NYC is $5,115. Count your blessings!
Hahaha idk if that price is accurate for average apartments
@@slewp Too low or too high? 😂😂
You might be able to like add an extension to that table when you need it. The table that you feel is a little too small when you wanna gesso bigger paintings. I wonder if you could add an attachment to it that you could take off when you don’t want to use it. Just a thought. I have a table that can be very skinny or very large because the table folds down when I need it too. It’s nice that you have a table that can adjust to different heights :-)It’s very cool that you’re living your dream :-)
BOOYA! Fantastic, i was with you when you moved from the old place, that is amazing!!! What a DREAM!! Congrats!! StudioSlew is such a primo idea!!
BooYAH buddy! Stoked to see the studio slew print still hanging proudly! Gonna come up for another visit real soon!
Booya! Amazing. I am always fascinated by you far you came. What you painted, build and how you documented it. The new studio, the podcast and now your own art school. You have been an inspiration and motivation for me over many years now!
So inspiring. Loved this video💕
Excellent content, unreal rental expenses, hope its all going good for you! style is definitely becoming more focused from old footage to now!
Slew! Please do a demo yourself!! I would love to fly out there and watch you paint life!
Hey!!! Awesome studio, bro! I've seen your journey through all these years, and I'm super proud! Also, it's fantastic to see my comic, Techfilter, on your shelf!! Haha
The space is always evolving!! Good stuff man!!!
This space is INCREDIBLE- you did such a fantastic job putting it together. Absolutely a dream space to visit or tour 🙌
Would it be possible in the future to join the drawing sessions online for those of us who can’t make it to NYC? Love the longer vids- booyah!!
Very informative on all levels! I know not many people have the chance to have a studio space. At one point I had a building with a studio and a retail store front. It wasn’t huge, but did what it was intended for. Since then, my work areas have been very small, and I couldn’t call them my own, since it was someone else’s building. Until this year, when I purchased a building and put it on my property, where I am currently in the process of finishing the inside.
I said all of that to say you broke down all the areas that any decent studio should have. I of course still limited by space, am incorporating some of your(and other artists) ideas. Implementing a French cleat wall for painting, which I’m adding a Murphy table as well so that I can have a table when needed, and put it away when painting. So your ideas get out to us artists even if we don’t have the space as you do.
Speaking of space, and the cost there of, I know how pricey renting can be in your area, but still, that monthly rent has to be daunting to you. I feel you have to be pretty successful in order to afford that. Very proud of what you have accomplished! I basically have been watching your videos since you first moved into your other studio space, and the growth has been exciting!
So my question to you is this: do you find that trying produce art, takes a back seat to the videos, and the editing? I’m just now trying to get myself to video some of my work, but due time constraints on painting, lack of dedicated setups,(which will change once the studio is finished) I can’t seem to manage art against video shooting and editing. How do you manage?
Thanks for all you do! One day I may get money and time enough to come do a drawing class. It would be a great experience I am sure. ❤❤
Booyah! Your energy and passion is infectious 😊
BOOYA!!! Amazing space! Don't have that much drawing experience since college but would love to take a class!

Hi Slew enjoyed watching this video.
This was such an inspiring video. You’ve come along so far since the old studio. Congratulations! The next 3 years are going to be amazing for you. Hope I can take a class out in NY sometime. Cheers from Chicago. Booya!
Booya! Man this is all excellent useful knowledge for artists wanted to get started in my opinion. I’m constantly on the fence about starting and documenting my art work and videos like these always give me the extra mental boost to pick up the camera and record.
Booya ! Greeting from germany ! i love your art and videos, it‘s a dream of mine to be in your studio and take a drawing class, hopefully I have a own studio in the future once in which i can put much afford and dedication like you. You inspiring people bro !

Support and Respect...Sawdust 😅....Anyways from a fellow Artist 🎨 Love what the new generation is doing with Creativity to change their world in a positive way ✨️
Bros really spent like 1m on an art studio, inspirational
Damn bro, I figured it was expensive but 4500 a month is IMPRESSIVE to be able to afford as an independent artist who doesnt have THAT crazy of a following, like for example tenhun does.
Yeah hard to save money but it’s sort of investing in my brand and just trying to keep it going!
BOOYA
booyahhhhh
booyah

Your welcome.
(i dont even know what else to say) Boo ya!

Hi Slew, I was wondering if you would tell me that name/brand of the art horses in your studio. I'm shopping for one now and yours looks sturdy and functional. Thanks.
It’s called a Belgium Art Horse from Jerry’s Artarama!
Not starving artist, who's you biggest patron, Jamie Diamond?
I am curious about what do you offer options search as still life we know you do figure painting as naked as you guys say in the nude etcetera?
Booya
Nut butter XD
Where do you get those drawing benches?
Jerry's Artarama!
@@slewp thank you!!
Do you sell any of your paintings?
Such a dream space! Congratulations, you deserve it!

This is in East Williamsburg Brooklyn. Artist have studios in every neighborhood though haha
@@slewpThank you!

Haha! I’ve had it for years but first time I’ve really used it for video rather than Timelapse’s
