I made subtitles for the series, but English is not my native language, so I need your help. If you see some text /between slashes/, that means I didn't figure out what they say here. Please, if you see my mistakes in any episode, write correction for me in the comments (with timestamps where to find it).

The Green Hornet was a show that not only shouldn't have been canceled, it should have been a full hour
Yep ... they had to include far too many "convenient plot occurrences" to make it straight to the final battle. That way there is no mystery and the characters are "archetypical shallow".
I definitely agree 👌💯😉
The Green Hornet kicked ass. RIP, Van Williams.
Yes, but not without his dynamo of a side kick!!
I'll never understand why they canceled this show ..it was a huge hit ..an I still love it.
Because they were cretins.
As kids South side of Chicago. We said” hey Bruce Lee is on.” The playground would be empty for 30 minutes. Real talk
I think was timeing batman came out at the same time
It was on Friday nights the death slot.
I Love IT Too.
Bruce lee was the man R.I.P. him and his son.
cd: Buried side by side in a beautiful little cemetery in Seattle overlooking Puget Sound. A moving sight!
The Green Hornet was truly a great action/adventure show;and Van Williams & Bruce Lee were a great team! It had everything going for it:great storylines,a great cast, and the Black Beauty was THE greatest TV crimefighting car ever built! It should have lasted more than 1 season.
you are extremely right
Tony Burr Why Batman, one of the campiest shows every aired on TV, stayed on for more than one season while the Green Hornet was cancelled is beyond me.
+Mark Giardina THE GREEN HORNET on ABC, was up against TARZAN (starring Ron Elly) which lasted 2 seasons on NBC and THE WILD, WILD WEST (already in its second season) which lasted 4 seasons on CBS.
+Mark Giardina Blame the 60s... Laugh-In and Batman ruled, The Green Hornet and Kolchak the Night Stalker get cancelled.
One reason I’ve heard of is that it was too violent
I always loved how Britt Reid's high-end millionaire apartment sits right in front of a back alley slum.
... and none of the people there ever notice some "regular occurrences of a certain car".
It's set in Chicago so...I'm not surprised. Jk
Like magician Penn Jillettes jail style home. It's looks like a Nevada supermax until you go inside!😂
I was 5 when this show was on. It was the only violence we were allowed to watch. Because of no blood and the good guys always won! I loved it then and I still love it today! RIP Van, Bruce, Wende, Lloyd and all who made this brilliant piece of television history.
Poor ratings
@Michael Garcia Definitely
@@michaelhewitt258 How in the world could it have poor ratings when our whole town in Warrenton at the coast enjoyed it and So Many people enjoyed this show!!
Way, way better than Batman .. Batman was stupid, dumb and idioic.
@@Kelly-3.14 I agree. I think the audience was expecting the Green Hornet to be "campy" like Batman and when it wasn't they tuned out. But then with time, the Green Hornet became greatly appreciated for the dramatic series it was. It's too bad that it didn't premier before Batman did--that way it might have been appreciated sooner and lasted far longer
Omg! John Travolta's first love, Diana Hyland, playing the lawyer. She had such amazing eyes. RIP Van, Bruce, Diana and all of those who worked on this show who've passed. Thank you for the hours of fun, watching your work, that you let behind for us.
C Figueroa she also played Joan Bradford, the mother of eight kids and wife of Tom Bradford in the pilot episode of Eight is Enough before her death in 1977. Some of us early teens considered that show the late 70's early 80's version of the Brady Bunch....
Wasnt she a great chose for Claudia
One of the dumbest moves ever made by ABC not letting Green Hornet have a longer season than Batman, with Bruce Lee's charisma should had run 5yrs alone..😊
Brilliant TV show. 1966 was a great year for TV!
Yes, this was a great series but it only lasted 1 season unfortunately. At least Hollywood was smart enough to unite them on that famous Batman episode! I read that Van Williams (Green Hornet) wanted them to give Bruce Lee more time on the series especially his fighting scenes but the series Creator declined because Van Williams was the main character of the show! What a shame.
In episode 2 there is a Kato fight scene that takes place in the shadows in a darkened warehouse at night. Bruce Lee in action but not entirely seen. What was the cinematographer thinking? Then I recall that they did have some good drugs in the '60s.
sometimes I like to watch the classic works more then modern.
Love this series. Commented 5 years ago and again today. It really holds up. Love It! Imagine my disappointment at the movie. But less said about that the better.
I will say the movies version of the black beauty was better though i wish they kept the drone, scanner and bug system.
The show is pretty good, and for the time I imagine the special effects must have been something special indeed. The movie Black Beauty lived up to the name and Kato was pretty decent, but such a shame about how they portrayed Britt.
Is it me or was the acting generally a lot better for these kinds of programs back in the 60s?
THIS SHOW IS BRILLIANT!
i agree with you
I just started watching with, man it could work today. It wasn't corny like Batman or some of the other similar shows were then. Honestly, I didn't respect Bruce Lee's work, up until now, I guess I just needed to know more about him. He's awesome!

The Green Hornet was a gentleman. At 5:50 he gave him his hat back. Even put it on his head.
Give koduo! To Ms.Case,Mike, and Dist. Attorney, who round the show. They did incredible on the show.R.I.P family.!!!$$$!
Love the Series...Van Williams portrayal of Britt Reed/The Green Hornet, Bruce Lee's Kung Fu antics as Kato, and Wende Wagner's bouffant. Those are my memories of the series.
Van Williams had said in interviews that he was glad that The Green Hornet lasted only one season. It was an incredibly difficult and physically taxing show to do and he was constantly rushed to get the episodes taped on time
this is the first I've been able to see the Green Hornet series, my only previous exposure was in the Batman episode. This series is such higher quality, none of the camp of the Batman series. it's ashame this show didn't run longer.
glad you enjoy it. The Hornet SHOULD ALWAYS BE SERIOUS. No humor!
@@CartoonManWhoo but.. its so silly...
Me too. Didn’t know it existed aside from Batman.
I mean it can be campy. But that's just because it's from the 60s. It was quite incredible for it's time. The fight scenes were great for the 60s and it helps that Bruce Lee was involved in a lot of em. Great show.
This Classic Show is Just Awesome!!!
Interesting episode.
The entire series Available on penny Saver on line or E bay classifieds this set is awesome thank you guys or www.matrixx.VPweb.com in the entertainment section
I always love all the in good shape 1960 cars in the Green Hornet series
This Was And Always Be My Most Favorite Show.
This is my favourite crime/superhero show!
I love ❤️ this show to bits. The show had a big influence on my wardrobe.☠️
Delightful to watch at any age!
This is the ONLY episode of "The Green Hornet" that I ever watched on TV (back circa 1996-1997 or so).
"Hornet gun ...Check!" - LoL 10:22
Diana Hyland played Miss Bromley. She later starred in "Eight Is Enough" for a short time before her tragic death from cancer.
Thanks again for posting this hi quality reproduction of a golden treasure from the dusty vaults of my youth!
loved this show aND NEVER MISSED IT
The sound is excellent, most old school shows, I have to turn it 🆙
man i loved the green hornet.the problem is it was only on for one season..but i wiil never forget the late. al hurt blowing the trumpet on the green hornet theme song..
Every episode someone has a secret entrance to a backroom ....You gotta love it!
Liberty what, you don’t have one in your home? I have three! Conversation pieces, fighting the green hornet, a million uses!!
The best part is how creative they get. Like, you know a lot of thought went into the security of the hidden room. 1 book on the shelf? nope, that's for chumps. Got to have combination of 3 at least.
childhood memories! thank you!
I remember Bruce Lee before he became famous with his martial arts movies sad to say his movies are still the best r u watching his movies did you know that he has been gone over 50 years that's a long time
Sadly, Diana Hyland, who played Claudia here, died of cancer in 1977. She was only 41. At the time she had just been cast as the mother in "Eight Is Enough," and the role was recast with Betty Buckley. It may have been this role that got her cast in "Peyton Place," and she'd played John Travolta's mother in "The Boy in the Plastic Bubble" -- and then became his real-life girlfriend. (Holy awkward, Batman!)
If The Green Hornet had lasted more than 1 season I wonder if it would have become a kiddie show like Adventures of Superman Lost in Space Batman Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and others became? Mostly cause of the networks who aired them. Thank goodness one season is all it lasted! A series ahead of its time.
+Roy Crowley Van Williams said he wouldn't have done it if it was going to be campy like William Dozier's Batman. But the ratings just didn't move, so they made the season finale the campy two-parter "Invasion From Outer Space," and that was no way to go out.
Thanks for uploading. Watching from European Union, Lithuania.
Besides the Black Beauty, I liked that custom Riviera, & the other custom car was a 65 or 66 Buick Wildcat because I've seen that in a custom car magazine back in the sixties
Gee, isn't it amazing how many Chrysler product cars are always in this show? What a coincidence! (Nudge nudge wink wink ...!) Speaking of cars ... some nice customs in this episode. Looks like George Barris' work ...?
Dean Jefferies
LOVED THE SERIES.
At 13.57 .... that cream and red fade custom Riviera with 2 1/2" chop top is a George Barris car. Called the "mystique" it is a 1965 Buick it was in a movie called Pit Stop and much later 1970s tv show called (Run, Buddy,Run) . Barris is same guy who shop actually BUILT the black Beauty and Batmobile.
look at Lee's walk...TOTAL SWAG
I know it wasn't the thing at the time, but this show should have had 1 hour episodes. Batman was fun... But this show had depth. Van had a smile girls would die for, and he had the edge all guys want. And Bruce was Bruce, and a much better sidekick than Robin.
I know it will never happen, but I would love to see Christopher Nolan tackle this and bring it back to life once more...
@@rockwellrhodes7703
Truthfully I can't argue against your point. B/C as time goes on, technology will surely increase and the stealth-like atmosphere Hornet and Kato enjoyed will no longer be exclusive. Many changes would have to be made, probably in the extreme, in order to make their existence credible. I hope this makes some kind of sense.
The Green Hornet looks like it could exist in the modern world, while it was obvious that Batman was set in some weird alternative universe.
The Green Hornet itself is a brilliant concept: he’s a criminal who wants in on all the action, and somehow delivers them to the cops and stays a criminal. He’s the world first super villain
I loved this series!...sometimes it looked like Kato was rolling his eyes at Green Hornet...Kato check the scanner....Kato, be like “man whatever “.
The Daly Fentanyl 🤣
You ever wonder why they can't make such television again. A movie remake bombed out, the poster is worth more than the DVD.
Feeling like a kid again watching this. Thank you!
This Show Had So Much Hit Potential!!! Would Love To See A Modern Day Revival Where The Grandchildren Take Up The Mantle!!!
Wendi Wagner is the attractive secretary, Lenore Casey, in this series. She was very athletic and while living in the Bahamas she became an underwater stunt double in the series Sea Hunt and The Aquanauts. She also doubled for Joanne Dru in underwater sequences in the 1960 film September Storm. She was a surfer and friends with Sharon Tate, the two sharing an apartment for a while. Sadly, Wagner died of cancer on February 26, 1997, at the age of 55.
Wagner was also a photogher's model as well.
Her friendship with Sharon Tate explains her appearance in Rosemary's Baby. She was one of Rosemary's girlfriends in the kitchen scene.
Wagner left the acting profession shortly after Sharon Tate's murder.
Fantastic show, I remember being six years old and the excitement of the new Television season with this show coming (Love Miss Case still ,never enough of Her)
Lenore Case and Miss Bromley would look so much better in microminis, and it was appropriate for the Sexy '60s.
R.I.P. Van Williams AKA The Green Hornet
bcade74621 he's not dead

That Green Hornet can hit awfully hard and fast. It wasn't just Bruce Lee who can hit.
I've been saying that all along, Van WIlliam's Hornet could kick ass. Seth Rogen's Green Hornet couldn't punch his way out of a soggy Mickey Ds bag.
The good old days of television series. Just about every car on any given show was one particular brand. In THIS case? Chrysler products.
I'm revisiting the series and I noticed the Chrysler connection also .
Nothing wrong with that great looking cars😄
Thank you for the full episodes. Bruce Lee the best.❤
Its a shame there wasnt more episodes with Claudia she was a good love interest and a fun character:)
There is/was a Green Hornet movie serial here on CZcams that makes an interesting contrast to this tv series and the ridiculous movies. In the serials, Ms Case is not aware of her boss's secret identity, Kato is the brains/inventor of many of the Green Hornet's " toys ", and Black Beauty is a modified Lincoln Zephyr capable of 200mph.
Bruce,the master of movement!
Too bad they didn't have smart phones in those days! Green Hornet could have taken several full color pictures of that bad guy standing without his canes and even a short video of him running and jumping like a star athlete!!! Lol!!!!!
This is a great show!
Bruce's kick made my body hurt.
This is pretty good. I wonder why it was canceled only after one season

Bruce lee is my hero
This is my wife's account. Im Bill her husband whose favorite radio show was The Green Hornet. The tv show was great liked it much better than Batman. Really well done.
there is something about the music and sound on this show that brings me back to when i watched these type of shows as a kid eventhough they were already 20+ years old by the time i watched them as a kid, the type of camera direction and format of the episodes is just pure nostalgia.
Every time Charley (Joe Sirola) talks, I'm reminded of his Boar's Head cold cuts commercials.
I love the Kato show. I mean the Green Hornet.
Love me some Bruce Lee!!!!
I still have my Corgi toys Black Beauty / Chrysler Imperial.
This is the old version of inbestigators and it is still the best😁
Insurance companies being victims? Now that is a new one ...
Ever notice how the Green Hornet gets in the car on the left side, but when they show the inside of the car he's on the right?
He probably moves to the right or middle of the car after he is in there
I'm still waiting on the re-make coming to Netflix. You KNow this is going to be number one when released. I get to play the Kato.. I'm ready.
THE GREEN HORNET A MODERNIZED VERSION. BUT EQUALLY AS INTERESTING AS THE FIRST ONE. AL HERT DOES A BANG UP JOB WITH THE THEME. THE ONLY ONE THAT COULD DO IT. A FAMOUS TRUMPTEER FROM LUZEZANNY. THE FLIGHT OF THE BUNBLE BEE. I FIND VERY INFORMATIVE BRUCE LEE.,I SAY A JOLLY GOOD SHOW GOOD SHOW
Don't use all caps.
Good one 😉
Wende Wagner was such a babe. She reminds of Joan Holloway on Mad Men
I love her reaction
In the legend of Bruce Lee it says that the series was cancel, because the producer wanted to get more into movies. Don't known how accurate this is.
Low ratings, merch was not selling.
THANK YOU FOR ALL THE EPISODES
Needs to be on DVD Now ! Batman can happen so can GREEN HORNET PLease !
It is
al hirt was awesome on the theme song overall a great sixties show
ev dallas finally! Somebody who splled his last name right!
I meant seplled!😉
Love it, again all over
I always enjoyed this much better than Batman. No camp.
As we didn't get this at the time, it is more grown up than Batman. Only watching it because of Mr Lee
I simply adore Bruce lee
Rest in peace bruce lee
Didn't it seem reckless for the GH & K to leave Mike unconscious at the scene where the man in black attacked Mike?
TGH & Kato left him there, what if the man in black returned to finish Mike off?
Totally! I just saw this and was thinking, "Okay, so they're going to leave him in the same place where the assassin was waiting for him the first time? Are they dumb? But of course these little slip-ups were what made tv good in the 60s... :)
Amazing. Thank you for sharing ☺️😘😘❤️❤️
Green Hornet:
Season 1. Episode 2. "Give 'em Enough Rope".
Monday - January 23 - 2023.
Hornet 🐝 stings
I love this show! And the movie!
I am enjoying the footage of the classic Detroit iron from the big three
I never saw this TV version of this, it reminds Me a little of Batman, which was on a lot when I was a Kid in reruns, I like it!!
Same producers of Batman.
what an accident for her? She your Lawyer! Ha,ha,ha,ha! My favorite episode!
I didn't like the very poor remake version of the green hornet. Why turn it into a comedy for? Love the original series ❤ in China it was known as the kato show?
The movie was an insult to a great show and should not have been made.
If that's a question, then it is yes. When this series was shown in China Bruce was the star, not the Green Hornet.
@@gutterdandy9173, I agree with you 100%; the movie was was a big insult to Van Williams and Bruce Lee.
@cutie evee 2 I was really excited about seeing the movie when it was released, but all I heard were bad reviews, so I figured that I wouldn't waste my time or money.
Nobody else was ever going to make a green hornet movie... the movie wasn’t that bad, it was a different take. Change is good
What a for a Dodge model is the DA driving? So beautiful car!
Good episode.
Peace
Thought I just saw Pat Sajak at the beginning lolz
You gotta be an expert driver to park these cars so they can be clamped accurately before being turned upside down in the garage. Kato takes good care of the Black Beauty though :D
I can't believe The Green Hornet only ran for one season. the Batman series was so ridiculous compared to this.
Its a shame but its why this show still watchable they played it straight, unlike Batman TV show which i cant watch now.
the Bruce Lee Story INFERS it was a racial thing... an actual oriental playing Kato, "tell him to keep the mask on ..." then the same producer? went on to make Kung Fu - with David Carradine...vs Bruce...
Agreed. They ruined Batman with that show, and only the more recent movies have brought the darkness back into the "dark knight."
I read somewhere the Batman series was considered a comedy. I saw the Green Hornet couple years ago on METV on Saturday mornings. I liked it better.
I remember watching the Green Hornet series in color as a kid. Batman which was cheesy was its rival, as they ran back to back on ABC New York. The reason l believe it was discontinued was that the detective comics series preferred the cheesy Batman series over the Green Hornet
The tv show only lasted 1966-1967 bruce lee did the tv show before he did hisartial arts movies in hong kong and he did drugs and had a bad reaction that put him in the hospital. He lived to be 34 years old and died 1973 and was married to linda lee caldwell with son deceased brandon snd dsughter brenda lee. My memory of him he fought chuck norris in return of the dragon which chuck norris claimed had alot of bruses all over his body. Bruce lee was born in san francisco and along with brandon buried in seattle washington cemetary like jimmy hendrix a rock legend.
He was 32 when he died.
Michael Liebers he didn't do drugs and he died at age 32 also his daughter is Shannon Lee. The thing that put him in the hospital was a pain killer which he died from he never took drugs.
Boy you so called BL experts got it all wrong.
I daresay no-one on here knows for certain. Some people close to Bruce Lee claimed he sometimes chewed cannabis resin, but I don't know if there's any proof.
His daughter was Shannon Lee. Brenda Lee is the woman who had a hit with "Rockin Around The Christmas Tree."
I've always loved that fight scene with Chuck Norris, though.
