- ADDED ADDITIONAL SCENE, BETTER QUALITY.
I do not know how many times I have said this in the comments:
"THIS VIDEO CONTAINS CLIPS FROM THE "GREEN HORNET" SHOW
AND NOT THE "BATMAN" SHOW! THAT IS A DIFFERENT SHOW!
THE "BATMAN" SHOW IS WHERE THE GREEN HORNET AND KATO
FIGHT BATMAN AND ROBIN!" - Zábava
They just refused to give Lee his Due. Even though the Producers
greatly limited Bruce, he still looked Great!
The politics of the 1960s. Bruce deserved far better than what he was getting. God knows Williams didn’t carry the show; it was him.
True, but I think Van Williams also fought to give Lee a more active role and dialogue in later episodes.
@@benwasserman8223 He did but at no fault of Williams, Bruce the "co-star" was being paid, $400 dollars a week (after taxes $313 take home pay) and the supporting cast around $700 to $850, while Van Williams the "star" got $1000 per week. Fortunately Bruce didnt know his "Agent" was screwing him. Imagine what would Hollywood would look like if they were exposed for this in the current climate.?
In Asia this series is referred to as The Kato Show
@@jeffkatt, as it should be.
Even after 57 years, Bruce Lee is still the 'Main Attraction'.
The man was explosive!
Bruce was straight up savage.
I was gonna say that. The speed is just.
"The Way of the Intercepting Fist" never gets old =))
Bruce Lee's Kicks were lightning fast. What's so amazing is the fact he did it with ease. The Best ever
That they asked him to slow down is what amazed me he was so fast taking down some stunt guys
Look like real kicks ; bruce lee
He overshadowed everyone,. As a child playing super heroes, everyone wanted to be Kato and no one wanted to be the Green Hornet except for his gadgets.
How could this show only last one season?
I don’t understand what people didn’t like about it.
It was serious instead of the campy nature of Batman.
Plus, nobody had ever seen that kind of martial arts action back then.
This show should’ve been a hit.
Bruce just stood out the most , and they did not like that this co - star was getting so much Pub .
They said the show took itself too seriously. I thought it was far better than Batman which was geared for children. The coolest thing about Batman was the the Batmobile.
Well Wild wild west was on opposite on Friday nights Robert Conrad was a badass like Lee ratings were better
@@josephvitielo1693 I read that another reason why the Green Hornet was canceled is because it was costing too much to produce and film . I read on more than one occasion that they were always over their budget . And eventually the people who were in charge of the show Said that it just wasn't cost effective to continue making more episodes , so they decided to pull the plug & cancel the show .
This is why Kato is not Green Hornet's sidekick. They're a team. GH wouldn't get very far without Kato's fighting skills and Kato wouldn't get very far without GH's detective skills.
The funny part is when Bruce was beating up the cop when coming out screaming
Yeah that a scare the shit outta anyone lol
It's just so fun to look at him move.
I don’t know why DC didn’t do more with this series like they did with Batman I guarantee that it would’ve been more popular than majority of the other super hero movies/series DC made
I think The Green Hornet wasn't published by DC Comics and I think the networks ran the series, not like it is is today.
I recently read Van Williams as the Show went on he took some lessons from Bruce to do better in the fight scenes but it was Bruce's Show when the Fists and Kicks Started.
GOAT legend iconic
Who came here just for Bruce lee
It was the Kato show for sure! LOL
@@guitarttimman IT WAS CALLED THE KATO SHOW IN HONG KONG FOR A REASON!!!
@@craigbrown4414 I grew up during the time that show was created. During that time, there were only 5 channels on tv. 2,5, 7,9 and 32. I've been around for a long time boss.
@@craigbrown4414 By the way Sir. I'm an adamant fan of Bruce Lee's. I chose watching his show over the others. I agree that it was the Kato show because most people watched it to see Bruce's martial arts greatness. He was the best the world has ever known.
me! me! me!
I love that punch at 2:30. No telegraph, just movement.
I love this old action music.
14:54 I love his “that’s what happens man” attitude
😂😂
best scene of bruce lee
I'd forgotten how good the music was
1:15 Bruce Lee has a gun! Run!
Wonderful job getting all the fight scenes. I always thought the lighting was to dark and to many shadows or we would have saw Bruce’s moves more clear.
I'm watching this as an introduction to his Martial Arts skills just before I watch his first film "The Big Boss"
Long live the King of Kung Fu
The only problem is those scenes that were shot in the dark, sometimes I think you missed his best moves
That's how the show was shot. The "Green Hornet" took place mostly at night.
But, most likely for budget reasons.
Those Scenes were shot in low light, to Save Production Costs
bruce didnt fear any man
True but he would've respected Don The Dragon. Not too many people like to talk about Don, but I'm a huge fan. He was one of the greatest in the world.
@@guitarttimman 60 s were different time for Bruce in America
I know. He was way ahead of his time, and the ungrateful Norris fans need to understand that Norris wouldn't have ever made it in acting without Bruce. Furthermore, Bruce taught him a lot and that's why he got better. Bruce was a true hero. If Bruce would've been around in the 90's, I think him and Don would've trained together. Don is my second choice for martial arts heroes. Chuck was never as good as Don.
That punch at 2:29 though!! I think he knocked that guy out forreal🤣🤣
That punch was so fake you can see the air between it
You can hear Bruce Lee s real scream. Very difderent than the scream he used to dub his voice in his Hong Kong films.
His Hong Kong films has his real voice as well. 💯
I don't think he dubbed his own characters in HK movies only the foreign characters like the Mafia boss in the Way of the Dragon.
In China they called this the Kato Show.
Bruce Lee 🙏🙏🙏
I can believe this super speed of bruce lee kicks😮😮
Great video!
Only the darkness in the image is terrible. Many Bruce fights are lost.
In television versions I could see those fights with good visibility, but nobody has copied them to the internet.
If someone has better versions please share.
THESE ARE THE BEST VERSIONS! THEY ALL COME FROM TELEVISION!
THE EPISODES WERE NEVER RELEASED TO DVD! THEY SHOT ALL THESE
EPISODES AT NIGHT THAT WAY TO SAVE MONEY! THE SHOW WAS CHEAPLY PRODUCED!
YOU CAN BUY GREEN HORNET EPISODES ON DVD ON THE INTERNET,AND THEY ARE GOOD QUALITY!!!
THE GREEN HORNET TV SERIES HAS NOT BEEN OFFICIALLY RELEASED TO DVD. THE DVD'S YOU MENTIONED ARE FROM OTHER
SOURCES.
They Filmed This with Low Light, To Save Money on The Production Costs with Larger Light in Color
Kato: "Excuse me please" that is what Dick Tracy's Police Detective Joe Jitsu would say to the criminals before he trashed them!!!! Lol!!!!!
legend
Too often unfairly compared to the Batman series, which had better villains, but GH definitely had better fights.
You had someone who could actually fight
The movie version was awful. They made it into a comedy. It disgraced the TV series.
He really puts the KICK in side-kick.
Bruce Lee was fast!!
I wish batman and green hornet would team up often that would be awesome yo
Awesome!!!
3:25 -26 I cant get over this guys explosiveness
Thanks 👍👍👍👍
This is a MILLION times better than the horrible choreography on Kung Fu with David Carradine. That show sucked.
Just think Bruce was passed over for David Carradine and though the show was called "Kung Fu" the scenes were mostly Judo moves.
@@waltersimmons946 If you want to call the stuff Carradine was doing Judo, it was the worst Judo in the history of the universe. Cain was supposed to be a Shaolin monk, but none of his fighting ever looked remotely like Shaolin Kung Fu.
And yet, despite terrible fight choreography and a white guy pretending to be a Chinese character, it was still a hit show. Which proves that TV is indeed the "idiot box" providing round the clock entertainment for dopes.
@@chrisjcollins777 The Judo part was how it was described in Matthew Pollys book "Bruce Lee a life" which I wouldn't recommend my dog to read. The show counted on the ignorance of racist Hollywood and viewers who didn't know the difference between kool-aid and piss. Good thing Bruce was strong enough to not let idiots stop him and lived long enough that his work showed everyone the difference between him being authentic and others being, uh, counterfeit. Your points 100% on spot.
Awesome 👍🏾😊
9:34 You have to wonder how many home invasions these guys had and how many in jail would question why those painful kicks were so damn familiar to the green hornets sidekick’s move
Loved BL as KATO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
I think that he is a genius
and
hardworker of
martial arts
i love you kato by bruce lee♡
I used to eat all this up when I was just a kid 🧒, but now, seeing this now, it makes my larry buchanan movies 🎥 seem credible.
Im glad
I like how hes not doing that signature WAH of his and you can see bits of karate in his fighting.
What a fast kicks 😮
Left off the best fight...Batman and Robin v The Green Hornet & Kato!
I do not know how many times I have to say this in the comments, but this vIdeo is clips from "The Green Hornet" show and NOT the "Batman" show!
My life is changing now✌️
Bruce is so fast, stunt team not bad either👍👍👍👍
So basically about 100 dudes were clueless and thought it was a good idea to mess with the Bruce after he singlehandedly dismantled 100 just before.
I'd come home from School and watch GH. I was Mesmerized!
Copied EVERYTHING he did....Over and Over!
This show was a head of its time because of Bruce, Green Hornet was way better than Batman and it was because of Bruce, shet Bruce was a legend way back then, the way he moved then was unlike anyone else, he highlighted that he was too much for Hollywood back then, they hadn't caught up to his originality and creativity because they had not grown up yet from the politics of ignorance and thats why they didn't cast Bruce in Kung Fu.
Image is clear ✌️
I hollered at 2:29. LMAO!!!
God bless you ...
Definitely wouldn’t want to be a Security Guard around Kati❤️🤣❤️❤️
Very good 👍 👍👍💪💪💪🙏🙏🙏
bruice lee is a good martial artist😮
Bruce Lee 25 years old: DOI! DOI!
Bruce Lee 32 years old: WATAAH!
(ok I know his Wataah noises are dubbed)
I disagree... that was his real voice in his Hong-Kong films!
No. He was dubbed. He explained it himself on the famous Pierre Berton interview in décembre 1971. Lee speaker only cantonese . And his Hong Kong films are all in Mandarin. Excepted Enter the Dragon which was in english and with his real voice.
@nicolas-christianmessi2877
That's correct! But that's not what I was talking about. I'm talking about the original cat roaring sounds that he makes when he's fighting not the actual talking which IS dubbed.
@@tri-unetrl3966 I understood you perfectly. Those cats like sounds were probably not his voice . Because he was not producing them on the set. And they cannot be heard on his american tv series or film apparitions.
@nicolas-christianmessi2877
His cat sounds is heard in his American movie Enter The Dragon which is all his real voice! 🐉 💯
❤
Lost so many treasure of gung fu fight scenes which albeit made 50 years ago, are much better than those by Donnie Yen Jet Li, 成龍, Benny the jet, ,
Americans weren't ready for Bruce at this time, falling far behind his time.
But what mafia bosses and company bosses and cops doing. They are trying to beat most dangerous kung fu master.😂.
You forgot the fight between Batman And Robin that was a great sequence though
...and that's why this was called the Kato Show in China.
Is Bruce's kiai utterance the word, "fight"?
He ain't even going full speed.
2022 in the house
😢
🇺🇸
Don't be slow on the draw, received an efficient beat down for his mistake- 7:37-7:46.
Unfortunately at that time in segregated America the wyt guy got all the accolades and credit, and it wasn’t until years later that we realized who the real star was.
3:26 that's fast
the difference between Bruce and the main char in fighting speed is embarrasing, you can tell whos acting and whos not
Um. Imeng. Bruce. Le woyli. Move.
most of the scenes are to dark to see him in all his heavenly glory (Enter the Dragon)
Curiously enough all the best fight scenes were shot in the dark or dim light. What a waste
I think the lighting on the series was to dark. If they used better lighting then I think Bruce could have used his real speed and they would not have laughed at the rushes. This made Bruce slow down in his movies because he didn’t want people to laugh. I know there’s a reason to the bigger picture but people would have been convinced of how great a fighter this man was if he used his real speed in his movies.
I wouldn't be part of the cast, truly (hahaha)
4:06
I still call it the kato show
It's cuz nobody said "Hai" back to bruce that he beat everyone up
Hi
@2:28 was frikin FAST!
Danm.. I need a BL Kato sidekick that follows me everywhere.. 😈
classic KARATE
12:18 @WARP228 would have been a great clip to end this on!
They Wanted to Save Money, by Filming in The Near Dark
13:41 spider-kato
You forgot kato vs robin.
I did
The Special Effects, Were not Cheap
Too much of the classical mess. That was why Bruce Lee didn't like the Green Hornet.
0:34
Thats the real Bruce Lee not boastful
13:23
10:38
🤨
