awesome content great how to: I am a huge fan of the STG-44 maybe one day I will be lucky enough to get one of the Future PSA reproductions later this year if they stick to their guns..lol No pun intended.
Tbf the Soviets were already using the long stroke gas system since the 1920’s (DP-27/28) so not sure it can really be suggested the idea was taken from the Stg44.
Very similar to AK. Anyone who says AK was not inspired by stg is delusional. Design is clear as day, even internals. AK is slightly more simplified.

That selector is the cross block style. I just had it on the semi auto mode this video

even as sexy as the original STG-44 is. I would love to see what a modern designed version of it would look like, and I am not talking a reproduction version just a modern built platform of the STG-44, maybe something with modern handguard and other furniture.. just saying..
