Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. What did I miss? Why do people suddenly dislike her so much? I think she's quite funny. This wasn't one of her best TV appearances, but she's usually fun to watch.

You might feel different if they were your jokes.
It's actually sad to see people think that and spread that. If only people knew how a writing staff for a tv show works or how joke writing itself works. For example if you put two different comedians each in one room and give them two seemingly unrelated words, there's a big chance they will come up with exactly the same joke. When it comes to stealing for her tv show - she has writing staff pitching ideas for her, writing sketches for her and so on and when someone suggests an idea, she might go with that not knowing that the writer either stole that or that somebody else already had the same thought before. And sometimes when you're a comic, you hear somebody else's jokes, years later you forget them, then think of them and unconsciously use them thinking you thought of them. Robin Williams talked about it himself and said that at some point every comedian will do this...
I think she might have "steal" some jokes but unconsciously forgetting somebody else already made that joke but I don't think she ever knowingly stole somebody else's stuff because you can clearly see in her work that she is a good original joke writer or in interviews you can see that she is generally funny and she's got it.
And also why would she knowingly plagiarise at time she was most famous in her career and would have to known she'd be found out.

1. She's funny and her success proves that.
2. She's not fat but does carry some weight and she incorporates that into her jokes.
3. She is an introvert and that's what gives her the perspective on life that she has.
4. She has probably done/said some bad things and I'd say we all have, so shut it people.
These keystrokes probably won't matter, but I'm glad I took the time to defend another human being from the carnival internet comment section.
Other than the success aspect I stated my opinion. She is very successful, so I'm not wrong in saying she's funny (at least to enough people). Also, it's impossible to create completely new jokes so she has probably used other material here and there. George Carlin made fun of everything, so a lot of modern jokes are just rehashes of that. To me it seems more like a bandwagon of haters, which is par for the course when it comes to the average fan. Many people can't think for themselves so their opinions change with the wind because fitting it is more important.

***** That's not agreement. That's a double standard. Me and that douchebag agree on nothing. And what I am speaking specifically to are the comments on the videos. It's possible Kevin James is asked because he has been type-casted, not because he needs to be fat to be funny (obviously - Bill Burr and Louis CK, two of my favorite comics are killing it and they aren't fat. And Seinfeld never has been - just a few cases). So, if the end analysis is:
- if you are a fat male comic, to keep that schtick going you have to remain fat
- if you are a thin male stand-up comic, doesn't matter
- if you are a fat female comic, you are going to be viciously attacked (as evidenced by the comments on all her videos)
then there is major inequality and sexism buried in this
If James gets more parts if he stays fat, I do think it's because it is part of his bit, that he started on King of Queens, and probably has something to do with that. I'd have to see the reporting on it to determine. But actors, male and female are always required to gain weight or lose weight depending on the character they are playing. I'm not speaking to roles, I am speaking to the stand-up. So, even if that is the case, it is not the same issue.

I have followed Amy for years on tv etc and in Ireland not many people know her. But I love her and find her sweet and I suffer with anorexia and am a grown woman with 3 grown sons and to read the comments this beautiful woman gets makes me think why bother in life?? She stands up for her shape and doesn't conform and that's so needed in this kardashian materialistic obsessed world. Please think before you write as there is always someone else reading. I'm sure there are sexists just using the opportunity to bash her, however... she's pretty much naked on the cover of her book, you maybe shouldn't judge a book by it's cover... but there's no reason you shouldn't be able to critique the cover for what it is...

I like this interview with her a lot. She is more chilled out than in lots of other ones, which might make it less entertaining for some.. but the trade off is that she seems a lot more genuine and likeable than usual, almost pulling off the illusion that her jokes are spontaneous and not actually carefully scripted, timed, set-up etc. I think she will find a good balance- it is fascinating to watch someone developing their craft.
while i'm strongly against donald trump (and still don't really like Hillary), i hate that kind of stuff. and i don't think that happens everywhere. while most comedians are in the left spectrum (imho) i hate celebs going "on tour" to propagate politics. it's just not alright. I feel like art (and technically comedy is an art .. not so sure with amy schumer though :D ) has to influence politics, not influence potential voters directly.
