_Very well articulated OJ, and the most important point in purchasing a professional tune is to do your research. With that said, whether it be a '70 Chevelle SS resto-mod, a Huracan, an R8, or even an LS-swapped Porsche 996, the bottom line is choosing the right shop to guarantee your baby is dialed in with years of trouble-free driving pleasure. (Honestly, your instructional videos are top-notch, and your credentials speak volumes about your shop)._

Great video! I DD a ‘17 SHO. I had it remote tuned by one of the more known SHO tuners. Made a bunch of power! But! After a couple revisions the shifting was still “off”…one day on good air, stepped into it, downshift, quick CEL flash and that was enough for me to return it to stock. Something was always a little off with the tune, I never really trusted it. I’ve had previous cars tuned with no issues, there was just something about this one that made me think if I kept it on I would have been buying an engine. Love the videos OJ! 🤙🤙

good advice. Nice breakdown "tune and effect". There's a major VW tuner here in the Chicago area that will absolutely sell you upgrades that you don't need. Possibly at the expense of a cooked stock engine down the road. Boost limit is a real thing people !!! Wonderful Video !

This is 1000% facts and knowledge here. Thank you for educating enthusiasts from making uninformed and uneducated decisions. Tuning is both an art and science, and as you said, have a ton of factors we need to consider before we just slap a chip on our motors.

Absolute BEST comprehensive transparent advice I've ever heard. there is some very shady guys that are considered tuning Gods that would never say what OJ has said and I am glad this video is out and available. You are headed for an expensive failure if you don't heed this guys advice if you desire to tune your car. 👍🏼

Totally agree OJ. It's worth spending the time to get quality parts and do down a well trodden path. I try to use factory "upgrade" parts whenever possible as I know they're well tested, will fit properly and will be reliable. For tuners, I got several recommendations from marque experts that I trust, then took my car to the local tuner for a custom dyno tune. It's not running the ragged edge, so should still have a safe level of margin.

Spot on OJ. Finding a good tuner is crucial. For instance, I've been trying to find someone to tune/dyno my CLA 250 4 Matic and no one near me has an all wheel drive dyno. Maybe I'll have to take a drive to your shop, ever done one before?

Love this video, but all the Facebook bros out there slapping big tunes on their cars and claiming their micro records are too dumb or ADD to actually watch and absorb this advice from someone who is clearly knowledgeable. I'm not tuning my ML63 because I've seen the effects (see Tasos) and it's already fast enough for an SUV. That's why I bought an AMG. I'm not ready for those repair costs to drop the engine and replace the turbos or whatever will fail. I am putting a box tune on my S4 because there's plenty who have done it for many miles and gone far past "stage 1" to consider that reliable for the long run. I planned out and purchased an upgraded heat exchanger that will support the tune. I'm doing all the common failure maintenance items even though it has good maintenance history it does have higher miles. Also it was relatively cheap and not my daily driver so I don't really care if something breaks down.

I have a 98 Xk8 and it has the AJ26 . From what I understand this is the base engine for the 4.2l. And the computers are the same ECU. And the TCU can be reset so can it be programmed?
