Brock Purdy is a very good QB. That is clear. To be honest however, he has not looked at all good in the postseason to me.
Despite getting the wins, his team has trailed each game before coming back. I don’t think he’s going to be lucky a third time..

Some people act as if Brou doesn't add any factual knowledge, but there are actually a decent number of times that he disproves Nick's points and all Nick can say is "Fair enough."

I say that because the other two top qbs in the NFC…..Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts. Both also have a TON of help around them on offense just like Brock. And neither one of them has had the success Brock has. So Brock is the best qb in the NFC and everyone will agree on that when we win this SB against the Chiefs. And in the whole league I have Brock between 6th and 8th best
As I said this I realized I missed one NFC qb that I would put above Brock. And that is Matthew Stafford. I thought Stafford was VERY good when he was in Detroit and put up fantastic numbers. But then going to a better organization he finally got to prove it and won a chip. So being that Stafford is the only top NFC qb currently with a ring(Until next Sunday). I have him above Brock. Plus he’s more talented than Brock obviously as far as arm strength and has done it for far longer than Brock obviously. So Stafford #1 in the NFC and Purdy #2.

Mark Brunell didn’t play for a franchise like the 49ers that have such high expectations and a winning culture. Brock has already surpassed what Mark Brunell ever did when it comes to winning. Brock made it to the Super Bowl.

I feel like every position player in the NFL has a HOF ceiling. With the right approach, commitment, and execution- anybody can have a HOF career. IMO- it’s stupid to say that a QB can’t make it that far- especially about a QB whose in his 2nd year that made it to two Championship games and one Super Bowl

Remember how everyone said that the RB position was over rated… and that’s why no one was getting paid the last couple years…? I think RBs should get a pay increase…. Seems like they matter when it comes down to it. 😊
The running back position is overrated. Considering it's now a 17-game season, there wasn't a single 1,500 yard rusher in the league this year. There wasn't a single running back in the league who had at least 300 rushing attempts, the first time that's ever happened. Two quarterbacks tied for 2nd in the league in rushing touchdowns because running backs took the fewest attempts inside the 10-yard line in league history. About the only uptick in value a few running backs bring is their ability to catch the ball. This was one of the worst years statistically in NFL history for running backs pretty much across the board. The position is only not overrated when you have one of the 2 or 3 best in the game... which the Super Bowl happens to have with McCaffrey being the best. But the league as a whole? Runnings backs bring their lowest value maybe ever, so no... they should not be getting paid more. Just McCaffrey and a couple of others.

That's dependent on the runningback. Jackson didn't pull through when the ravens needed him, for example. However, I'm part of the camp that feels players should get paid based on performance, not position. You make gains and put up points/stops then you should be paid more. If you don't, then your gonna get less as a filler player.
Brock is obviously on a Hall of Fame trajectory and has a ceiling of HoF. Forget about projecting out what he might be years down the road for a second. If a guy in his first 2 seasons has 2 deep playoff runs, a SB appearance and a finalist for the MVP he is objectively on pace for a HoF career. That is indisputable

Here's something I don't think people realize: the SF front office is REALLY good, probably one of the best in the league at salary cap manipulation. Especially this year, they did things that went under the radar to create cap space to bring in different players. Don't be surprised if they do it again in the future.

Purdy is top 8 QBs, but had the best season. This was a historic season, it shouldnt be downplayed with or without talent around him.
It's too early, give him 2 more years to know who he is. But if he has 3 more years like this and gets 1 or 2 superbowls, we should talk about him chasing Mahomes (it's a stretch, but is also a posibility)

@@DD-rk6kn It's a top 20 All time season by all QB metrics. Lamar won because he was more valuable to his team, who also was the 1st seed. Lamar saw his best option go down and only got better. Purdy and CMC are both in the MVP conversation for a reason, and that hurt their chances vs someone having as good a season as Lamar.

They double Kelce with a safety and Corner means Rice is in single coverage somewhere. MVS has had huge games in the playoffs when teams decided to double both Rice and Kelce. Singling Kelce is just a bad matchup against any position: He's generally bigger and taller than most corners, he's too fast for many linebackers, and safeties have trouble with his craftiness.

Half of this thread is “why do people not give Purdy his credit”, and then multiple comments saying Purdy is better than Lamar and Allen. This is why people pushback. If nobody was putting him in that tier, I feel like the pushback would be far less.

Super Bowls in fact are rarely these high octane, offensive like games. Teams really slow down and think about their possessions more. The Chiefs are a better team than the 49ers, they’ve face the better competition and were on the road in 2 of 3 playoffs including the AFC.
I’m not comparing the Packers & Lions to literally the Dolphins, Bills & Ravens that is ‘gauntlet’ Mahomes & the Chiefs just went through. They should win.
I agree becuase of the defense but any given Sunday. KC lost to the packers and lions and the 49ers lost to the ravens. In the nfl is anyone's game but let's not pretend that KC has a dominant offense this year is not their best offensive squad this year.
