I also show you how to deke in the new Total Control system and the old skill stick control system. @@supreme6085you could turn off aim assist in settings…it’s much easier if you just spend like 10-15 min in free skate it’s much more accurate…cuz your aiming the shots

Thanks for the video. How long do you have to hold the Y button for the Michigan? My player always skates too wide instead of reaching around the post. The puck just flips into the corner. Thanks.
Just tap Y and you have to line up the michigan in the proper spot for it to work

You have to stop skating and hold lb and push your LEFT stick to either left or right

I just played for the first time at one point, I was protecting the puck on my backhand and my guy went one handed while still or protecting the puck. Problem is, I went into freeskate and can't recreate it. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I feel like I may have been holding LB during it as well.
it's done with the analog sticks now - if you hold it to your forehand/backhand and with your right stick held out to the direction you want to shield the puck it'll do it
But will it to it one handed? I mean my guys was doing the normal protect puck animation, then put it all the way out on his backhand with one arm while fending off pressure. I'm assuming that's just apart of the new protect animations?@@Leafer18

when I've tried doing it, it has done the one handed animation to protect but tbh I think it depends on the scenario @@thatONEmachine

how do you protect the puck with total control
its done with the analog sticks now - if you hold it to your forehand/backhand and skate with speed it will protect the puck for you
I’m really really new to the game and this is my first time playing nhl is this all skill stick or something else?

Yes there is.. the tutorial system is in game and free skate.. but it's the most basic.. it's not that great but helpful.

@@JaysonHoang14there is no skill gap in NHL, you try to get to spots and when you get to the spots and do a certain move you score
@@JaysonHoang14Idt it did. With how much offensive and defensive settings matter, on top of if you know how to play you do and if you don’t being able to do dekes doesn’t add much advantage to that.
How do you fake a shot on total control? I just keep reverse hitting on breakaways thinking I’m gonna pump fake

Yeah I got you! Free skate should be on the last menu option that says “more”. If it’s not I’ll take a look when I get home from work for you man!
how do you do the fake shot now (the leg raise) used to be click in right stick
I’m not sure if you can fake shot anymore tbh but I could be wrong, I’ll look into it and let you know my friend
If on total control, you have to have the L1/LB held in and then click in on the right stick

It's called the Michigan in this video. I will say though if you're trying to get that challenge done in HUT rush it's broken. I was playing it last night and everytime I'd perform the deke it wouldn't register...
Ps5 it's the triangle button.. stand behind the net.. hit triangle and then practice.. it currently seems glitchy
Can you show us how to perform these dekes during an actual game? Anybody can push the right buttons, or move the stick the right way, but 90% of the battle is knowing how to time it, and free skate isn't much help in that regard.
Doing it in a game will be how you can set it up with passes
How can I fake a shot with new control? I press the joystick and my player tried to reverse hit
If you're on total controls I think they removed it completely, at least to my knowledge

Total controls just seems like a no brainer to me. Less complication when pulling off certain dekes
Does the Between The Legs Deke really look that awful now? It used to be my favorite deke.
Honestly I think i’m just trash at doing it lol. I’ve seen other people perform it way better
So I went back and checked and it was just the off the skate deke. As a righty, you want to make sure you're holding the puck as far to the back right as possible, and then hold L1 as you roll the stick from the right, down and to the left. The key is making sure the puck is as far back as possible, otherwise you won't get the animation.

Still having trouble with the toe drag shot. Doesn’t like to register. I just be timing it wrong
Yeah you gotta be quick as soon as you pull off the toe drag you gotta shoot right away - kind of all in one motion if that makes sense

I use the preferred up setting so I can see better. During a face off I hold the left analog stick down and when the ref starts to move to drop thr puck I start tapping down on the right stick..
I use hybrid. So I can't figure this out lol
I can’t even fathom how to do the behind the back
the behind the back isn't explained all that well. Hitting L1 as you rotate the right stick causes him to deke. There's more to that move
So stupid I can do these moves just fine in practice but when I do play now even with high skilled players like Petterson it’s not letting me do any of these
