Laika, Hero dog who went to space

Samshin-Granpaw, the patron saint of all dogs and overlooking granny, always has a lot on her plate
By her side, as her hands and feet and even as her second pair of eyes is her ever helpful assistant ‘Assist-Paw’
Assist-Paw, while always by Samshin-Granpaw’s side, wasn’t born as her assistant
So, how did Assist-Paw wind up being Samshin-Granpaw’s one and only assistant?
When dogs are born, they leave Samshin-Granpaw’s side and start their own journey on Earth
In fact, Assist-Paw was once a nameless ‘Stray Dog’ who went through a lot on Earth
It was until a researcher took him to a lab that his wondering days finally ended
His new home was confusing at first, but he grew to like the people, the food, and the warmth the place offered.
And in the laboratory, his new home, there were many like him, and it made him quite happy
But life at the lab wasn’t always fun
There were tough trainings and tests that awaited the dogs everyday
Many did not pass, and one by one his friends disappeared
But the one stray dog passed all his training successfully
So, the stray dog finally boarded the spaceship
All his training was to prepare for his ‘space’ travel
Then the stray dog was named ‘Laika’
The thundering noise was unlike he’d ever heard before and the blue earth, beautiful beyond comprehension
At the same time, Samshin-Granpaw was observing a comet she’d never seen before
And she found out that the ‘comet’ was in fact, a spaceship and that a dog was in it
She also found out that it was headed for the Sun
Not willing to let her darling child die, Samshin-Granpaw saved Laika
And she gave Laika a new name, ‘Comet’
Since then, he became to be known as Assist-Paw, a trusted assistant
