Beautiful cars . It´s funny , the back of one of them looks like my XJS coupe . One can see how the suspension , is old fashion and how high the car lifts , same on Mercedes , but great to drive in.
The base model 2.9 XJ6 had some sort of hideous tweed interior that actually came with de-bobbler. It was gutless, rough, had no air conditioning and no electric seats. It had steel wheels with large plastic hubcaps and didn't feel luxurious at all. I owned a Jag breakers and it was common for me too change out the interior for an electric leather one. It was easy as the wiring loom already had all the connectors and plugs, they just weren't connected. Another upgrade we did was fitting cruise control. Again, all the wiring was there. We could make any XJ40 up to Sovereign spec easily.

I think that was a disguise which they use during development to keep it under wraps before its unveiled to the public...
