It’s sad that Josh isn’t asked that many questions but it’s not unexpected. When it comes to the meaning of their songs which is a big part of it, that’s all Tyler. That’s not a bad thing, people would just like to know more about the story so that’s why Tyler answers a lot of the questions. I think people should ask more questions about drums though. I feel like I fell in love with this band in a much different way than normal. I had heard "Stressed Out" before and knew all the words but I wouldn't necessarily call myself a fan at that point. Then I spent an entire day watching their interviews, funny moments, and behind the scene videos of their music videos when I was sick. I began to fall in love with their personalities and their friendship- I just loved them as people. Then I started listening to their music- but it all began with loving who Josh and Tyler were. Now I can call myself a fan.
Sometimes i wonder what josh is thinking about whenever tyler goes on those long tangents, he looks deep in thought or paying attention to tyler in interviews sometimes and it makes me wonder..

“Blurryface is a character, a guy that I’d like to say I met in a different dimension, but really he represents everything that I as an individual am insecure about. What’s cool is I know that we all as individuals understand that we’re insecure about certain things, but where our self awareness starts to dissolve is when we start to try to understand how those insecurities affect us everyday. How do we compensate for it. And so to better understand those insecurities and how they were affecting me I really wanted to create this guy who had a name, a face, a seat at the table that I could look across and really address {…} When I think of that emotion I feel, you know, when an insecurity is overcoming me, specifically when taking a stage, you’d be surprised how hard it is to get up in front of people sometimes. The feeling really is a sensation of suffocating and so it kind of manifests itself in the black on the neck. Also I’m probably most insecure about the things that I make with my hands whether it’s music or anything I create, I’m the sole creator of that thing I have to answer to it and if it’s bad it means that I’m bad. So it’s really tough to create something and show everyone this thing. Also when you’re showing that person something and you’re wondering whether or not they’re going it like it feels like the worst. So this Blurryface character, the way he looks for some reason I saw that he would have black on his neck and his hands.”
