    I have no idea why people would rave about ”wireless charging" when it's so much slower, it still requires it to be placed directly on something, not free to roam, you can't use it while you charge. Like are y'all that lazy to just plug in you damn phone once a day??

    • @jaybee0507
      @jaybee0507 Před 4 lety +6

      I assume you don't have wireless charging pad. It's very convenient, but yes, you could say i'm just lazy. It's not even that slow. The problem with fast charging on the other hand is that the faster you charge your device, the more heat it generates. More heat equals less life span. Nobody cares about durability anymore i suppose, even though our phones have integrated batteries these days.

  • @heinzkitzvelvet
    @heinzkitzvelvet Před 5 lety +379

    What is it with you reviewers and your ridiculous obsession with wireless charging???
    OnePlus/Oppo designed the fastest charging technology ever, by removing the voltage regulator from the phone and putting it in the brick to decrease heat in the phone, and all you goofy reviewers can do is complain that OnePlus won't put electrical charge coils in the phone, that produce more heat than a voltage regulator ever could. Why?
    I've made this argument to every reviewer who complains about this and not a single one has ever explained why it's so important to reintroduce all of the damaging heat that OnePlus engineered out of the phone.
    IP ratings are a scam. Nothing but a price gouge.

    • @GabrielIgnacio
      @GabrielIgnacio Před 5 lety +8

      It's more a convenience factor since it offers two different charging methods and while Warp Charge/Super VOOC is insanely fast for what it is, you need to buy their exact cables and wall adapters les you're stuck with slow charging.
      The IP rating I do agree with to an extent as manufacturers don't cover water damage anyways. However, it IS a bit of peace of mind, specially since you also have that pop up camera, which while having a rubber grommet to keep dust from entering the phone, hasn't had a third party do any testing to see if that grommet will hold up to dust well and seeing a few reports of dust getting under the main camera lens array is a bit worrying.

    • @vincentcho9990
      @vincentcho9990 Před 5 lety +5

      Eh. I don't use wireless chargers, but I think it may have something to do with convenience and maybe if you want to listen to music at the same time as charging.

    • @heinzkitzvelvet
      @heinzkitzvelvet Před 5 lety +8

      @@vincentcho9990 People can listen to music while they're charging their OnePlus phone. OnePlus got rid of the jack to push sales of their Bluetooth buds. Wireless charging isn't required, to listen to music via Bluetooth and charge simultaneously.
      I don't understand the argument for slow charging, being more convenient.
      How does slower = more convenience?

    I´m a proud owner of an op7pro since one month now and never have had anything better. The size is fine and I don´tthing that it is too large. OK I´m just a large person too but even smaller friends of mine don´t have any problems. I´m freaking out every single time anyone says that they won´t recommend the phone just because of its camera. IT IS NOT THE LEADING PART IN PHONES. Sure some are made just for there excelent camera, but you don´t always need to be the best in all categories. I just have a very good DSLR and know how to shot pictures but also can go with them of my phone. The power of the beast is just anwesome, just like the software. And who needs wireless charging? It is demonstrated that it destroys your battery pack by the time and is not as fast as wired charging at all. Thank you for reading this and comment if you´re not having the same opinion as me.

    Great review 👍
    I have owned my OnePlus 7 Pro for about a month now, and I absolutely love it. This is hands down the best phone I've ever had and, with so many premium features that no one else has, I am completely satisfied. It looks amazing, the screen is gorgeous, and the pop up camera is freaking awesome. The main reason it's so awesome (besides being a cool party trick) is because I don't use it that much anyway, so having absolutely no bezel on this gorgeous 90hz display is just such a nice change of pace from every other damn phone out there haha Seriously, how often do you use your front facing camera vs how much is the hole punch/camera bezel just an eye sore the rest of the 99.99% of the time you are using your phone...? Anyway, I love this phone, they do a great job giving you all the features you need while doing away with the rest, and I recommend the OnePlus 7 Pro to anyone with hands big enough to hold it. : )

    Just went from a Note 9 to the OP 7 Pro with the latest software version. I'm no pro-level photographer but the pictures I've taken so far have been great. I still think Pixel phones have the wow factor when it comes to photos because of Google's software, but this camera can take great pictures. Also, the rubber seal you mentioned on the pop-up is at the bottom of the camera housing and slides up and down with the housing. It's designed to keep dust and moisture out of the body of the phone, not off of the camera lens. I've seen several reviewers complain about this but honestly dust and pocket lint can get on any camera on any smartphone depending on where you carry it. It's a non issue. Lastly, yes...it's a big phone, almost the same size as my Note 9. Everyone knows it's a big phone. But it seems more people are complaining about the size and weight of this phone than they were about the Note 9 or XS Max. It's not a one-hand use device for most people, so either use both hands or don't get one. But to say that size is an issue like somehow OnePlus is trying to downplay or hide the size is not fair. The market for big display phones is there or else Samsung and Apple wouldn't be playing in that space. All in all, after 4 days with my OP 7 Pro, it's a fantastic device with an amazing display running one of the best versions of Android I've ever used.

    I have both OnePlus 7 Pro and a OnePlus 7. The 7 is unlocked so any carrier will work with it, also has dual sim more for the Europe crowd. I got the 7 for around $425 with 12GB RAM and 256GB Storage. It's basically the same except a teardrop notch and the selfie camera is on the top of the screen. It's nice seeing 5G on the pro, and I have it with a 5G provider. My rates are 100+ MB down, which impresses me a lot. And as a photographer for 35 years, this OnePlus Pro looks amazing with the Pro option camera and output JPG of 48 MegaPixels. My wife has the Pixel 4 and I'm not impressed that much with the camera and optics. They seem too "overworked " at the end. That said, my Lumia 950 from 2015 still has a very good camera weighing in at 20MP and Zeiss optics. But I love the OnePlus name and products and had an iPhone for two weeks and hated every day of that ordeal.

    Things I like vs the 6T:
    -Fingerprint sensor is WAY faster
    -Near zero bezel, no notch, no cutouts, no holes
    -90Hz screen
    -Haptics package on par with the Pixel3 (which is VERY good)
    -Ingenuity factor of the mechanical selfie camera is high
    -Snap 855, 12GB RAM, +300MaH battery, faster charging, camera improvements
    Things I don't like:
    -7 pro is physically longer, not a deal breaker but 6T size is perfect
    -Curved screen seems useless, I don't hate it but def unnecessary
    -7 pro uses gorilla glass 5 vs GG6 on the 6T. Both scratch at a Mohs 6 so maybe a wash.
    -The ambient display monochrome clock style available on the 6T is missing on the 7 Pro. Boo.
    Overall is it worth the upgrade? Yeah, I think so.

    The one plus 7 pro has been great for me the past few weeks. Battery life has been around 6 hr of sot and warp charge allows me to charge my phone in the morning before work and still get to 100%. It was a hard choice deciding between the OP 7 Pro and the S10+ but ultimately the lack of a hole punch and the some what less expensive price made me go for the OP 7 pro. I do miss some of the extra features that Samsung provided but again those features that are nice and occasionally used are not worth the price bump in my opinion. I do wonder if I would have gotten use to the hole punch and enjoyed the S10+ more overall but i cant deny how nice this phone is to use everyday.

    I personally think the 7 pro is the best smartphone of 2019. I have all the S10 models and I love them all but the issue with Samsung just like apple is their self imposed price inflation rather than abiding by economics and allowing the market to dictate the true suggested retail price. It's the exact reason Samsung after only a few months after the hype of releas period dies will reduce their flagships down which isn't truly a good deal rather they just lower them to what their true market value is and that's something I ethically just can't get on board with because it factually proves that Samsung inflates their prices like apple does but they do it knowing that they will lower their prices after the initial release only to price gouge their customers in the beginning because they know the hype over a new release that people being the market will buy them for a short while and then stop because of the grossly inflated pricing. Apple on the other hand is what I call and define as a true modern day Monopoly that is supposed to be illegal but is allowed through various loop holes to operate as one and dictate their own US profit margins basically controlling the US mobile phone market and they use their power to force sell and are able to retain their self imposed prices without having to drop them like Samsung does. Both though inflate pricing where OnePlus pricing is dictates by true market suggested value or prices. As someone who's professional background is in market valuation, I have a lot of respect for OnePlus for their business ethics and for operating in a healthy way as basic economics is and should be which the proof is simply taking a look at the current state of the US economy which is of no fault to the market. Not only that but the 7 pro while not perfect nor is any other flagship, was able to set two new industry standards for flagships literally overnight with the 90hrtz and USF 3.0 and you can bet or be rest assured that we will see even more self imposed price inflation starting first quarter 2020 with these two new flagship standards that OnePlus offered without any inflation other than sheer cost to produce minor increases. 7 pro is the best by far both device and company standards.

I'm sick of hearing people say that "the phone is pointless if you throttle the 90Hz down to 60Hz blah blah blah" because: 1) most other phones are 60Hz anyways and it's still a great phone & screen, and 2) even if throttled down to 60Hz, the screen still makes it a phenomenal phone because it's QHD/2K/1440P resolution - which is significantly better than the 1080P of most other competitors! Plus having a retracted/hidden front camera is massively underrated in today's day & age of tech spying (have you heard of Edward Snowden???).

    I am an owner (the 12GB variant) since launch and really enjoy the phone. It's super fast! It loads games fast, it charges fast, and that 90hz refresh rate is soooo smooth. I came from the original Pixel and think the photos look pretty good on the 7 Pro. I love the wide angle lens. It is a big phone, but I do not understand why people complain so much on reviews? If your hands are small, or you want a one handed phone, don't buy it. It's the same size as an S10 5G and the same weight as an iPhone XS max, yet I don't hear everyone complain about those. If you actually want a big phone, this one is great for media consumption with the speakers and large, smooth screen... Except the kne thing I do not like is the curved edges, and that is probably my biggest gripe. The glare and palm touches are definitely annoying.
    I have not used the new Samsung One UI, but I cannot imagine it being as smooth and fast as OxygenOS. To be honest, I like OxygenOS more than stock Android on my Pixel. The features it adds are great. The Samsung is just full of pointless features that slow down the software and muddy the waters. One word: Bixby. These "features" are mostly omitted in the 7Pro and replaced by useful things like an alert slider and real gesture navigation. The headphone jack is the one useful thing Samsung kept for now (it will not be on the Note 10).
    As far as missing features, personally I don't care. I don't understand why people love wireless charging? It's just more money for a slower charger that saves you 2 seconds because you don't plug in? Warp Charging is awesome to me; I can get a day of charge in 20-30 minutes. I never charge my phone over night anymore, I just plug in while I'm getting ready in the morning. The battery life on this phone is pretty good for me.
    Overall, this has been the fastest, smootheet phone I have ever used. Oneplus has quickly pushed out updates that improved the phone and fixed bugs and the camera. My experience with it has been much better than with my previous Pixel, which reviewers seem to love so much. The Pixel was buggy, the microphone shorted out (and Google just played dumb about it), the battery life sucked from day 1, and the design was underwhelming. The camera is great, but with GCam ports you don't really need to overpriced, crap hardware on the Pixels for the camera experience. Prior to that I had a note 4, which was cool but slow and ugly. I had an iPhone 4 before that, which was so bad I switched to Android. I am pretty hopeful this phone will remain awesome for a while given the speed and clean software.
    I don't know if an S10 is better for the same price, but so far I have no regrets with this phone.

    I have a lot of problems with the fingerprint scanner , I went from a OnePlus 3 to OnePlus 7 Pro. On my OnePlus 3 it always unlocked my phone everytime I used the fingerprint scanner, with out any problems. On my OnePlus 7 Pro, 5/10 times it even won't recognize my finger. I have talked with the support at OnePlus, there only answer is: "There is no problems with the fingerprint scanner, try retrain". I have done that many times, but I still have the same problem, and I have for the 4 time contacted OnePlus, and one again they don't seem to care.
    This is the first time ever that I experience they won't help, and don't take you seriously, and this is also the first time I won't recommend OnePlus to anyone, and next time I buy a phone, OnePlus will not be my first choice, because I can see from OnePlus 3 to 7, that there support has become more arrogant, and they clearly think there product is perfect, and can't take constructive criticism, when you're just trying to help, and address a problem
    Otherwise I think OnePlus 7 Pro is a great phone

      So I am very interested in getting the 7 pro. The S10 plus is around 50 pounds cheaper. Keep in mind that's the exynos version. The only thing that the S10 has is better cameras that is the only thing that is putting me in a big dilemma.
      The OnePlus looks better IMO and is super fast and well the only downside is well it has slightly worse cameras than the Samsung. I don't not care about the wireless charging or IP ratings or headphone jack. So should I get the OnePlus almond colour because that's the colour to get. Plz help
      I Like the animations on the 1 plus they are like iOS and oxygen os is smooth looking. Is the camera really worse than the S10.
      Plz help thanks

      @@yashmann OnePlus have put a lot of updates out for the camera which has improved the camera a lot, I would say it's slightly inferior to the S10 simple because you can't record with the zoom or ultra wide lens, OnePlus have confirmed that will come soon though.
      My friend at work has the S10+ 5G and I have the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G and I can barely see the difference between the cameras, I prefer the colours on the OnePlus but the Samsung is a bit sharper.
      I would go for the OnePlus as OxygenOS is perfect, OneUI still has its quirks and bugs. Plus the 90hz screen has spoiled me, using another phone with 60hz including iPhones just feel laggy.
      That's my opinion, I've had many phones including pixels, iPhones and Samsungs and this OnePlus 7 Pro is the best I've had.

      @@Hexterio ok thank you so much. I'm gonna get that almond 7 pro even though it's like 90 pounds more than the S10 plus. I value user experience than slightly better cameras. I only wish that they push out an update for portraight mode using th main lens instead of zoom because quality should be better and it's too zoomed in so you have to step back. I check the forums regularly and they have said that they are working on wide angle recording. Thank you so much and have a good day

      I think you guys do a lot of research like me before buying a phone. Actually i was really confused between the s 10 plus and op 7 pro about which one to get. Since i am using samsung s7 edge for last 2 years i m really addicted to its display i mean the quality of 535 ppi and the curved screen. Out of this world experience i had this last two years in terms of phones look and display but battery life really sucks. Before owning s7 edge i was an apple fan . I had been in such a dark world until i met the samsungs amoled display.
      Now its time to switch phone and after succesfully researching for a long time i found that one plus 7 pro almond is the best i could get in this era. I know samsung would not provde me a good battery life nd fast charging compared to ONE PLUS 7 PRO. 90HZ i m dying to feel the touch . I have ordered it today.

    The OP7P is definitely a very, very good device! Pictures and also video looks okay. Probably I couldn't tell a difference on a WQHD Smartphone display for example from my 2017 HTC U11. ... BUT ... As u said it, the price isn't that sexy. *Is it still necessary in 2019 to pay as much for a smartphone?* Years after the Nexus 5, One Plus One or even the Pixel 3a?!
    In my opinion: no. And what One Plus used to deliver in the past *is now delivered by Xiaomi* with its Mi9/ *Mi9T!* Quiet the right balance between specs and costs.

    I bought the OnePlus 7 pro right when it released in my country (Czech Republic) and I'm happy every that that I've switched. Previously I've only owned iPhones and my previous one was iPhone 6S Plus so the size of the 1+ wasn't an issue since the frame is very similar size. The 90Hz OLED screen is a joy to use and watch. The camera is a little bit underwhelming though I went into it expecting a sub par camera but it still struck me as a below average camera compared to my gf's iPhone XS. The other letdown was the lack of the headphone jack. As a person who has always owned a phone with one it was by far the biggest annoyance about this phone. The only other issue I had switching to my first android phone ever was the keyboard. The layout on Gboard drove me insane so I had to download SwiftKey and set up quite a strange keyboard but it worked for me so I finally got used to typing on it. Everyone keeps on bashing the curved glass for its glare but honestly for me isn't an issue at all. I mostly watch videos on it in my bed at night so I don't get any glare though. The bezel less design, 90Hz screen and the lightning fast in screen fingerprint scanner and the system responsivness all around is honestly what sold me about this phone and these features work perfectly. I'm all about that screen and I'm completely satisfied. Also what's worth mentioning is the speakers, they've surprised me how good they sound. And the last thing I'd like to mention is that honestly I feel that usb-c is way worse at endurance than lightning. Even the charger that came with the phone and other accesories like a dongle or usb-c headphones feel quite loose when plugged in and has a little bit of space to wiggle, lightning felt way more stiff and less wiggly, sometimes I'm scared that I'm going to break off the flat part in the phone connector. Otherwise the phone is everything I've expected to be and I'm really happy I've finally managed to escape the Apple ecosystem.
