    Hi there! Thanks for the video! You mentioned that you’d already sat the MSRA for GP training before radiology, is that something you would advise doing? Did you do that in the previous year? I’m interested in obs and gynae and was wondering if it would be worth sitting it first for GP, thanks again!

    Hello doctor and thank you for this great video
    Do you have any suggestions to improve on interviews (how to answer questions, how to start talking about our cv,etc.) ?

    • @Mr.Radiologist
      @Mr.Radiologist  Před rokem +1

      Yes, absolutely! It is key to get in practice. I highly recommend doing some kind of interview course, it doesn't have to be the one I have set up with colleagues at www.ace-radiology.com , but any well-reviewed course would be better than nothing.

    Hi Jack, thank you for your video! I wanted to know how many times over did you complete passmed and mcqbank? I really want to do well and work at your hospital as I've worked there as a junior and loved it. Hope all is going well with your training too

    • @Mr.Radiologist
      @Mr.Radiologist  Před rokem +1

      Hi! I did the question banks once through, then I selected the option for repeating questions I got wrong and only did those probably once through. I wouldn't recommend repeating all of the questions again because you'll know the answers to many of them and it's not worth your time.
      If you have time after doing passmed and mcqbank in the way above, then explore other question banks. I never got that far, but if you REALLY want to secure a good score and therefore a preferred location for training, then it is probably worth it. Hope that helps and good luck!

      @Mr.Radiologist  Před rokem +1

      Thanks! I'll make a video about radiology portfolios (the scoring changes a little every year) - try seeing if anything is on oriel on previous radiology vacancies or googling 'radiology portfolio self assessment' and some examples from previous years come up. I don't know a lot about private practice opportunities as I'm still in training, but it might be something to talk about in future. Good luck for your application!

    Just wondering - does the exam include surgery? The blueprint doesn't seem to include surgery, but I hear the exam is now also used for surgical trainees, and the Passmed bank has surgical questions. Emedica doesn't have questions on surgery though however

      Hi, the exam does include questions about surgery, though usually about surgical diseases (such as gallstone disease) rather than particulars of surgery (such as which sutures to use, etc.).

      That's a strong portfolio, well done! For interviews, practice is key. I do recommend doing a course so that you get some practice and use a resource to target your practice. Hello Jack I had a question
    I Want to apply to radiology training in the near future but I had a few questions
    1- I am from Egypt and trying to apply for first job in uk, is it better to start a service job or take Msra and apply for gp/psychiatry? Like which option will i be able to make a strong radiology portofolio along working in
    2- Is it easy to change from a training to training in another speciality? Or will there be obstacles doing that? Can they refuse for example?
    3- can i take frcr part 1 and still apply for st1 radiology or will that rule me out from st1 level jobs
    Thanks alott

    I need to understand something about this exam. Will you be the one to choose your specialty? Or will they be the one to choose a specialty for you according to your score?.
