Saving up for a yamaha bolt I saw one at my local dealership and have wanted one since can't wait
Just bought a 19 bolt r spec with 550 original miles! I can’t wait to put some exhaust and Intake and tune!
Beautiful bike. I think the sissy bar makes it. I'm old so that reminds me of the bikes in my youth.

Painting out the shiny look at me brackets black was my first priority. Then added some ammo cans as panniers. People stopped tailgating me after that. 👍
Like the mirror placement. I have a passenger seat and sissy bar just like that but never have installed it. Looks really good.

Need to get it tuned so that the fuel/air mixture is perfect...it will run better and you'll get better mileage.
Would you have to take it to a mechanic to do that?

I want one so badly, the one thing that kills me is the SQUARE LCD on the ROUND tach, I wish Yamaha used the entire tachometer. And the small space between the seat and gas tank that exposes the frame. But damn I’m nitpicking and damn I want a bolt 950. I’m only 21 and in a lot of debt currently but I have dreams of riding one of these, it’s nice.
Ok i know this video is 3 years old. But I'm just seeing this and the first thing i see is ogden canyon. Great ride on a bike or car.
When the video started and you drove through the canyon... I thought “no chance, this dude is driving through the Ogden canyon”

the cobra fuel chip works perfect IF when you start engine you let it warm up fully before riding. At first i would just give it a 20-30 sec then go... and get a few pops here n there through out my ride. now i let it warm minute and a half or so and no pops at all.

I have the 14 green model! Wish it was red but hell a bike like this I'm not complaining LOVE THIS BIKE. I'm really debating on this intake just curious have you had any problems with it? Also how was putting it on? Thank you for this video man this video is goals!

I really like the air cleaner hardware. I doubt that your mirrors would pass inspection in most states, but more importantly, they are no safe. You need much better rearward vision. I'm sure that there are several better, safer and more cosmetic aftermarket mirrors that will work for you, safely. You know what they say about a cheap helmet? How much is your head worth. The same applies to mirrors.
I'd have the sissy bar without the pad. Like the guy below, it makes me think of my youth. Neat little red storage pack, as well. Fork gaiters are superb. I don't like the handlebars.

Looking good. I have a Grey 2014 R Spec with the same exhaust. Just realized I bought the paint for my exhaust heat shield like 2 years ago and haven't painted them yet.

That wobble may be caused by a defective bushing/bearing at the headstock. Do a search. People have been complaining about this fault. Best, Pete

How far can you go on this bud? Debating between the v star or the bolt
If I'm conservative probably about 150 miles.
i love pretty much everything about this bike, all except the spedo/gear/instrument cluster, too basic, i'm one for analogue rev meters and spedometers (or atleast ones that display in real time and don't just update every 0.25ths of a second (i'm looking at you harley)) 'n such being included, why couldn't yamaha make this as inclusive as the mt07? that has everything you could ever need, fuel level, engine speed, gear indicator, actual speed etc., i'd be happy just with the engine speed and actual spedometer but still

Have you ever tried running an octane booster in it? Say something like AMSOIL octane boost or Lucas? Sometimes that extra octane will also get ride of that pop.
Did you need to sand down the engine guard and the engine cover before the paint ??
Did that amazon sissy bar (passenger seat) come with the hardware (bolts and spacers) to mount it?
I dig your bike man. I like the knife pointy side up. Maybe just grind that tip down smooth.

any change in performance with the V&H slip on? i know HDs have to be re-mapped if you change intake and exhaust

Thanks! I had the V&H pipe on when I bought it so hard to tell. After I put the intake on I got the cobra fuel controller to get the AFRs right again.
It's recommended to use a fuel management system "fuelPac" when you change the exhaust and intake. Cobra makes a great one
Not a fan of the digital speedometer. Any way to switch it out for old school speedometer?
Not that I know of. I know there is another more retro looking speedo but it is still digital. Take a look at it on SS Custom Cycles
or..just remove it completely

This one is definitely worth it if you're considering it. Friends at work with Harley's, Indians, and other Japanese bikes all comment on how much they like the Bolt.

I have the fi2000r fuel controller which corrected the AFR's for the new intake and slip on.
Absolutely love the mirror and wanted to do the same to my bolt. Went into autozone and I found a mirror but not with a link or clamp. Any way you can specifically help me out on how to accomplish buying the correct parts. Thanks dude!
I used automotive goop to basically glue it on. I've seen some bolt ons but not sure where they got them.

Did you change the foot controls? Was that intake a huge difference with that airbox issue? Or do you recommend any other brands for right leg clearance?
Nope same foot controls. I have way more clearance with this one. Almost any intake you get though will offer better clearance.

Yep, loosen then zip ties then re-tighten

Im confused about the fi2000r. there are different ones. Is this one made to work with your O2 sensor?
O2 is run unplugged.

crackPHI It's a small swivel mirror that I got from AutoZone. I'll add the link as soon as I find it. I cut the swivel rod in half so it would sit flush on the bracket and used super glue to hold it. Some guys get fancy and find a mirror they can bolt on.

They have fork covers on eBay too. Saw a pretty slick looking Headlight/ Turn Signal set up on SS with fork covers but its out of stock.

Comfortable highway would probably be about 65-75mph

Very nice bike, that mirror is next to useless though. I’ve tried it. Might as well replace it with a “please don’t ram into me from the back or sideswipe me cause I only have a 10 degree view over one side of my shoulder blocking that ten degree view so I can’t see what half of you people that can’t handle basic straight driving from light to light are doing.” I guess that would be hard to mount because it’s a long sign, but it’s still more practical and useful than that mirror.

What's your opinion about the bike's low ground clearance? I heard it scrapes pegs easily.
I really like the canyon run that you see in the beginning of the video. It's not too twisty but still a lot of fun. It does scrape occasionally but it hasn't been a problem for me.

Nope, clearly states in manual to use 87. This is not a high compression engine.
Where did you get the exhaust cover? This exhaust keeps melting my shoes lol.
It comes with the Original exhaust, or you can find it at the Yamaha store.

Way too much black. I would have piled on all the chrome I could get on it. I have a 2015 Iron 883, and I loaded it down with chrome. The black that's left really makes the chrome stand out. It came in Black Denim. I had the tank, fenders, and sidecovers painted bright red.
Isn't that kind of airbox bad when it rains?
Ace of Spades 09 not really, but some companies do make a rain cover for their filters you can keep with you and slap on in overly dusty or heavy rain conditions

I know I know. I really don't like the gap between the fender and the tire without it though. I need to figure something out there that lets me keep the passenger seat.

WICKEDLEE LOOPY if it is sheathed it is perfectly legal. Update: It also depends on which state you live in. Here it is legal. Turns out, it doesn't need to be sheathed either.

Sorry to sound boring. I'm from England where if you carry a knife like that will be in serious trouble from the police. Also why do you need to carry that unless your going to scalp a red indian in an emergency wild wast scenario. Looks nice thou. Bike sounds and looks nice.
