- A ‘nervous’ Ed Sheeran prayed as he got a traditional Thai tattoo on his leg.
The singer shared a video of himself getting a traditional Sak Yant tattoo while on tour in Thailand.
In the video, posted to Instagram on Sunday (11 February), a tattooist explains the meaning of the tattoo, saying: “The piece goes to eight directions, so protecting you from all sides, and you’re in the middle of calm.”

Sak Yant tattoo has some prohibition to maintain the mantra effect on your body. If you violate the prohibition all the mantra would gone.

And you can't understand what the tattoos say because it's in Sanskrit/Pali. The script is the historical liturgical script of ancient central Thailand for Buddhist/Hindu practices.

You know that they used sterilised supplies right? Only some monks use the same needle (and self made ink). I’ve got a Sak Yant from Ajarn Ohr and I literally saw him use new needles etc. on each client.
