Ruby Franke’s sisters, eldest son, and estranged husband have publicly reacted to the CZcams mom's conviction after Utah officials released documentation of the abuse she committed. The mother of six was convicted. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber walks through the latest reactions with KUTV reporter Brian Schnee.

Hi folks. Chad said, he thinks his mom should stay in until eve is 18yrs old. Not for 18 years.
@Jesse or whomever reads comments: do you all know where the Walmart class action is? (For overcharging for meats and veggies…which is STILL going on! I got some chicken breasts a few days ago..2 medium size, I think actual total weight was about 1.5lbs. No more than that. I PAID for 3.5lbs. 🙄. I’m disabled, in a wheelchair and legally blind; I don’t drive and order things with WalMart +. Luckily, since I found out this was happening and check meat and veggies every delivery; they’ve been great about refunding the overcharge and when I had a delivery last month that was $20+ overcharge; they gave me “Walmart bucks” for the entire delivery.
On the other hand, I had no idea this was happening until I was told about the class action. According to some videos online, this has been a regular, country-wide practice for more than 2 years. My daughter sent me a link a few months ago; but that article that linked to the lawsuit was removed and the only other links were scams-in fact I informed our Senior center about the scam sites pretending to be the law firm…asking for information up front that I KNOW would not be required…AND the links themselves…no class action is going to ask for your SS number and bank info..and please send to a Google email?!?! 🙄😡. Another was an 800 number and they tell you there’s a CHARGE to receive money from the suit. Another was an actual subscription scam…for the low low price of $7.95 they will send you monthly info on class actions, including this Walmart one. Then, you read the T & C and you’re authorizing a $59.99 monthly payment for a “coupon” to “The internet’s best discount site to purchase whatever you want. 🙄😖 (sad thing about this last one is it appears to be based right here in the US…in Utah. My ex is a software engineer in security and has added it to his growing list of “subscription scams” based here in the US. There’s some websites like NewsBreak, which tends to have an older demographic, is absolutely loaded with these scams. And unfortunately, most banks and some credit cards are no longer covering these subscription scams. It’s up to us to protect ourselves)

Everyone should know that R didn't escape to get his mother in trouble. R was trying to turn himself into the police because he thought he was evil and was never going to not be a burden to his mother. He told the neighbor and 911 that the wounds were his own fault. Ruby was blessed with an amazing son and took it for granted.

That is true but he saved himself and his sister. His mother most likely told him he needed to be arrested. Incredible. The abuse was so horrible so terrible and horrific. Words don’t have enough power to describe it.

The County Attorney Eric Clarke has said he thinks Ruby is truly sorry and he wants her to be reunited with her family if the children decide they want to see her. This is crazy. Abused children shouldn't be forced to decide in cases like this. They are so broken, Ruby and Jodi need to stay in prison at least 30 years. I think Eric Clarke has a crush on Ruby. He practically gushed over her plea speech saying it was "heartfelt".

The neighbour cried, one of the first responders cried in bodycam , maybe others did too but there was no doubt the cops, paramedics and the neighbours showed more kindness to the 2 kids in a day than those 2 abusers showed them in years
The 1st neighbour wasn’t home or just missed him ( not sure what part) and saw him and messaged Jodi. Imagine if he told R to sit and wait. R may have never be seen again :(

The professionalism and sensitivity these cops showed to the girl still in the house is unmatched. He sat down with her and waited til she was ready to come out of the closet. So sad
She looked like a zombie... so I hope they find joy again, and not follow the patterns they had to live, and learn

Ruby hasn't changed. That type of behavior didn't start with Jodi. Jodi just gave her a push to do it harder. She sounded like she changed but it's all a show. It will take more than a few months in jail for her to undo everything she has done and her beliefs

@@meowzers8937 I think he's in denial, too. I had abusive parents, and more than 20 years later, I still learn how f*d-up psychos they were. New memories surface every now and then. Every time I think now, I've grasped the whole extent of the fu*d-upness, there's still something more that totally baffles me. The human brain just protects them, as the brutal reality might be too harsh to bear. Those things need to be approached step by step with professional help. I hope all the kids get the help they need to heal from this horror.

He didn't care about those kids. He only cares about Ruby. The kids were just another job expected of him by the church and not made out of love (except for themselves). He was doing what Ruby wanted of him to please Ruby. The kids weren't even an afterthought for him. He was enjoying not have to deal with 4 kids but was not enjoying being away from his wife.
Chad didn't say that Ruby should stay in jail for 18 years, he said that she should stay there until E. is 18 years old.

I think it's 15 years per count as max . She has 4 counts. So possibly 60 years.

In a call with her sister Ruby talked about being remorseful and how showing remorse could affect her sentence. I think that whole speech at her sentencing was an early attempt to be able to serve the shortest possible sentence. I don't think she's actually remorseful. I think it's an act.
It definitely is, if you remember her first call ever from jail, that’s truly how she is and feels when she talks to (her now soon to be husband).
After that, I think her lawyer advised her to act and show remorse which then her other calls changed dramatically with her sister and again with her husband. 100% an act. I just hope she stays in jail until the kids are at least 18.

I think Chad's response speaks volumes about his character. He comes off so nonchalant, even if he is hurting inside, and that is telling his mother that she may have controlled every aspect of his life, she may have abused him, brainwashed him, hurt him, etc. But now that he is grown and free from that, she's utterly irrelevant to him. He's who he is now because he is in control of his life, and she has no power over him even in memory. I do hope he's doing okay and that he seeks help if he needs it, but man, that is the biggest slap in the face to any abusive parent from their child. "You're irrelevant to me."

In the video that he was streaming, he said he hopes to reconcile with her in the future. He’s still quite a bit under her thumb, even when she’s behind bars.
@@kremmiz1as an estranged daughter, takes a lot to realize that your parents won’t change and for your safety you have to stay away. I went back to try to get the relationship back a few times, the last time I even allowed her to manipulate me to stay in her house the last time I went to my hometown. That didn’t went well at all. I was in therapy and doing a lot of healing, but still as adults we need our parents. Realizing your parents never loved you in a healthy way could be really hard to process. Time and healing. I hate they have to do all that healing work now, because is not easy and nobody should have to go through that. Parents are supposed to be emotionally available for their children and love them.
@@lhr8833 Very well said. In my career, we see kids who constantly want to go back to their parents, though they have been horribly abused in different ways. in many cases, they accept their fate and then pass it on to their children. Regards to you for getting out of that mind frame.
@@kremmiz1As a child abuse survivor, that’s pretty normal. Every child wants a relationship with their parents…or at least wants their parents to love them. So any chance of that happening is hard to fathom, let alone let go of. It’s even more complicated when the abuse is mental or emotional. Even in adulthood it’s still hard for children to completely denounce and cut all ties to their abusive parents. To judge children of abusive parents for hoping for a relationship with their parents or trying to reconcile is inappropriate and so unnecessary. It’s not helpful and only serves to victimize them further. It may not be the best idea for the child to reconnect as an adult, but that should be their choice and something they learn and experience on their own. That’s not for anyone else to decide.

@@martinastreisel514she already got a sweet deal from the prosecution. She is guilty. Judge gave a sentence range. And in crazy ol Utah, a parole board will decide how long she serves. So praying that those folks see this released evidence and give BOTH ladies full sentences.
Yes, and Bonnie goes on to say that Ruby doesn't need 'mercy', she needs to be in prison and stay there for a very long time!!! People have so many negative things to say about those sisters but I think they are fab. Loving, caring, passionate ladies with big hearts who have been utterly crushed by what Ruby has done 😭💔

The way they had to sit with that little girl is animal rescue technique used for traumatized dogs. She had been that dehumanized.
It’s also just used with children (getting down to their level and giving them space to feel comfortable). She was definitely dehumanized, but this one of the few things that wasn’t a sign of that.
"Complaining to CPS for years".. i dont think most people understand how hard it is to get an indictment as a whistle-blower. The process isn't what one would imagine.
CPS should be sued in behalf of these children for not responding.

True it's a long process but now everyone is suddenly involved obviously they didn't open the door cuz they had what to hide and the police and CPS can't exactly burst in especially without a warrant

Abusive mothers are sorry once they are caught by authorities or their peers, they don't give two craps when their kids express sadness of their cruelty because it's all about power. Jodi forbade contact 🙄🤦🏻♀️💔 He was told every day that his family was doing so great without him, that he was the source of all their problems, and that he just had to continue with the 'counselling groups', and when Jodi considered him to be reformed 'enough' he would he allowed back home. She controlled the whole situation, just as she did for many other families. She needs to stay in prison forever 😭💔
You know how children who have been abused are better able to express themselves more freely coloring in a coloring book. Playing that internet game is Chad's coloring book.

Really hoping that these kids are being treated with love and care in social services now and that they are not being further abused like what happened to the Turpin kids
The Turpin children had no follow up, and were placed in a place, known as abusive, before they took them in.
So many foster homes are also horrendous. I don't live in the US but have worked in mental health for years and people have NO idea. I pray that these children get the best treatment ❤
How does Kevin have a right to sue anyone? Those kids are not in his care. Only he’s responsible for his house payment. Downsize!! He’s not raising those kids and hopefully never will.

He is obliged by the state of Utah to pay for the therapy and other needs of his minor children in state custody. Also he is suing because of his own loss of quality of life and income.

Don’t know if it’s true, but I heard the youngest two are not together.
Soon to be 3 minor children. The oldest of these 4 is now 17 and has less than a year before turning 18.
I heard recently that the two younger are not together right now. My guess would be the concern that they would perpetuate the brainwashing with each other.
It messes me up hearing the kid ask timidly for help and that neighbor choke during the 911 call.
I don’t know why no one has spoken about this but Ruby and Kevin sent him to WILDERNESS CAMP at the behest of Jodi. It was horrible! It’s such a relevant piece of the abuse, and one that also points out Kevin’s involvement

Don't excuse Kevin's own role in the abuse of his children. It's documented on the CZcams videos that he was fully complicit in the abuse of his children with his wife and he DID have contact with ruby throughout the year of separation. Blanket training used to be very standard in many religious households - not just LDS, but evangelical Christianity as well. To be clear - I think it's awful and would never, ever use it myself! But when you grow up in a culture where it's normal to blanket train (and let's not forget, there are definitely differing levels of 'blanket training' too) you're just following what you've been taught by other women that you look up to, and also, popular books on parenting which circulate these religious groups. Bonnie is a loving, passionate, fiercely protective Mama bear 💖 MANY of the women I speak to who blanket trained their first child hated doing so, and never did it again. Every single one regrets it. We shouldn't judge Bonnie for what she did as an extremely young Mum, following the advice of her older wider Mama mentors; are you the same now as you were 15-16 years ago? I know I'm not! All three sisters are great Mums. They don't need to be investigated 👎🏻 It's not fair to tar them all with the Ruby brush 💔

Bonnie and Ruby are the older two girls. They raised kids together and grew up together. Julie and Ellie are the younger sisters with younger kids. I think Bonnie just naturally feels closer to Ruby’s kids because they were having sleepovers at her house their whole lives. Their kids were best friends (until Ruby met Jodi and cut them off).
