Hi, I will try to answer your questions:
Who is that guy: introducing you to DOYOUNG one of the 23 extremely talented and underrated members of NCT who indeed just breathed his high note effortlessly like an angel. The other two you also complimented were Taeil (with beret) and Renjun (shot right after Taeil).
The “original version” MV of FROM HOME has the lyric caption in English, so please do check that out.
The first seven on stage are the performers of the original version MV. The other nine risen up onto the side of the stage because except for 3, all of those on stage are foreign members of NCT. Because the song talks about the extreme and huge sacrifices they have had to make in their lives (i.e. leaving family and normal childhood and fly to a completely foreign country where they weren’t able to speak the language, all to pursue their passion in the most brutally cut throat industry of music)...but they always find their strength to endure this wonderful journey of life “from home”, as well as their fellow members who they have spent just about a decade sticking together, NCT has become their second family and second home...it was the reason why those nine members joined the stage, and the reason it is emotional for old and new fans since many of us have hardships and sacrifices in life we had gone through, which we can relate to these men.
Shout out to your friend who recommended this masterpiece LIVE PERFORMANCE. Have you also seen their Live MAMA performance of RESONANCE? It is where all 23 members from all sub-units unite and perform together (something they do every 1-2 years). It is a medley of 4 songs from their latest album that is brilliantly remixed, and if you’re interested to do a reaction (and to add more songs to your playlist) I’d humbly suggest checking out the individual songs as well since they are fire.

Regarding the guide you asked, the 3 part series “a subpar guide to” NCT 127, NCT DREAM Take Two, and WayV from youtube channel “softjun” is the most popular one. It is split into each sub-unit which I think is the easiest way to learn about them, since NCT has the only unique group structure ever existed in the music industry: to have infinite number of members spread into infinite number of sub-units all over the world.
Finally, just want to say thank you for checking out more of NCT, and especially for sharing how kpop has been a positive impact to your personal life (which I find the same has been experienced by so many kpop fans), and I hope you will continue to enjoy kpop music, going into the future.

Doyoung and NCT have got a new fan in you haha. It's been months but I'm still stuck at this MAMA performance really. Doyoung has always been my bias but just wow this left me in tears and goosebumps.

NCT has 23 members as of 2020 and they keep growing. But don’t worry they usually promotes in 3 different sub-unit so it’s just like getting to know 3 groups : NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV. And each of everyone of them is so unique and have their special talent.
The one you just reacted is NCT U, it’s NCT Special Edition / Special Project, when they just pick or mix and match any members across the sub-units to sing a song. In this song “From Home”, the lineup made of some of the best vocalist in NCT (they still have buncha great vocalist who are not in this song tho).
So if you’re interested to learn some guides, please check out “Subpar Guide of NCT 127?Dream/WayV” by Softjun, one by one.
You’ll be overwhelmed if you watch the guide that contains all 23 members, and it’s usually not as complete as the separated ones. ^^

Which NCT songs do you have your playlist?? I really recommend The 7th Sense by NCT U, Kick It and Cherry Bomb by NCT 127 and Turn Back Time by WayV (chinese unit of NCT)
