- Cherimoyas are a Cloud forest Tropical Tree.
Reported to grow high elevations in Central and South America.
They are not supposed to tolerate heat, But todays high Temperatures of 110f will put my almost 2 year old 10 ft tall grafted Cherimoya tree to the test.

It’s 110f in the shade and cherimoya are a mountain climate fruit.

Hi,
I saw your video in CZcams and I got lot to learn from you. I live in Sacramento, CA not too far from you.. Can a sapote tree do well and bear fruit in a pot? What is you secret to fertilize your sapote tree? I hope I don't waist too much of your time.
Thanks,
David
It may be possible, but much better in ground
Wow pretty hot there Jeff, i doubt if many of my trees here would be happy at those temperatures, its a pleasant low 70s here at the moment
the month of June we averaged about 6 degrees below normal… then bammm, we went straight to 110f
I live i yuma az sunnys place on earth wounder how my. Cherimoya well do
Might need shade
What kind of watering schedule do you have for all your fruit trees? I live in norco california and im wondering how often should i water all my fruit trees. Got roughly 20 fruit trees. Including avocados, citrus, cherimoya and stone fruits.
It varies by the needs of individual trees and time of year.
Does your chirimoya tree loose its 🍃 in the winter? I had one in a pot over the winter, and it was a stick. In the spring it re-sprouted all by it self. I dont know what will happen this winter.
Yes
My fuerte tree took a beating today in Danville. My Stuart, reed, and lamb look good tho and so does my cherimoya.
That’s not good.
Looks like everything here took 110f no problem
We’re did you get the tree from here local to Modesto?
Yup… lowes
What fertilizer do you use?
I use Hollytone evergreen
have they fruited yet i mean your cherimoya i got one and im afraid it will not??,
Not yet
What's the plant with the large, almost elephant ear/taro like leaves behind you in the beginning of the video?
Ficus damaropsis
Hi, I bought my Cherimoya about a year after you did. How it looks like now is about how yours looked like a year ago. It's about 7-8 ft tall but has not branch out like in this recent video. How did you get it to look like this? Did you have to remove the leaves? Should I trim the the small branches and leaves? I am afraid to touch it.
I just let it grow naturally
What time of the year did you planted your tree? I just got one from home depo.
I planted mine early summer
Cherimoya will take 108⁰ no problem. but right around 113 or above the tree will start to wilt and drop all its fruit. even then, it grows back very quickly.
Shouldn’t be an issue for me, my record is 112f.
I wonder where all the experts got that cherimoya cant take heat.?
@@TropicalGardenGuy I think it's most likely due to old publications. I know my el bumpo tree does very well here.. in fact if you come to the san gabriel valley, you will see huge cherimoya trees everywhere. the "experts" will say cherimoya will not survive our hot/dry/arid summers.
