  • In April of 2021 we traded our class c motor home in for a Ford F550 Motor Home. We named her Trudy Thunder. Trudy is a Thor Magnitude RB34, she is built on a 2021 Ford F550 Super Duty chassis. Our Ford F550 Motor Home is a BEAST!
    We really love our Trudy Thunder! After traveling with her for a year I wanted to give Yall a one year review of our Ford F550 Motor Home. We have been very blessed with only minor things that needed attention and all of them so far have been covered by the warranty.
    I can not say enough good things about the Ford F550 truck chassis. We average 10 to 11 MPG while pulling our flat tow F150. Come along with me on this 1 year review of Our Ford F550 Motor Home, Trudy Thunder!

    Thank you, Dude. The event was a big success. And you’re right, it is intolerable to euthanize those 4 legged service members.
    They carry a rank and it should be respected.
    Also that is a lot of mileage in one year. I don’t even drive my daily that much.

    • @DudeRV
      @DudeRV  Před 2 lety +1

      It is a lot of miles for any vehicle but especially for a new motor home that has only left Texas once! I am so glad to hear that the event was a success!
      Thanks for watching!

    My how time flys by. We got our new Rig a year ago this coming June 5th. She’s a Dynamax Isata 5 34DS & we call her “Maxine” 😉. She sets on the RAM 5500 chassis with the 6.7 L Cummins and I LOVE the 💥 POWER she got. I have put just under 7000 miles on her so far. I know she pulls our Jeep Wrangler and or our F150 4X4 with absolutely NO problem. And like yourself we have had some minor warranty issues but other than that we have been incredibly happy with our new rig. I really enjoyed your video we also considered a magnitude as well. I appreciate your content and again as I’ve said in the past hopefully our paths will cross and we can visit with you someday soon.

      Time does fly! hard to belive we are on our second year with Trudy, and still no regrets at all! We contemplated the Isata but there were a few things that we wanted that were not part of the Isata line, like the huge front window that we now know to be both a blessing when it is cool and a curse when it is hot! LOL! We still love it. I do how we cross paths somewhere down the road! thanks for watching!

    I also really like your RV, and a bit jealous about that F-550 chassis. We have the much smaller (24 foot) 2020 Minnie Winnie 22R with the E-350 V-10, and get a little over 8 MPGs. Interesting point on the tankless water heater. With the 6 gallon Suburban, can just heat it up for 5-10 minutes and only use warm water side for those Navy showers. BTW, my last stay at Fairfield SP, was in that exact campsite - what a neat coincidence! Noticed that you had to amplify the cell signal, as the cell towers at Fairfield were not too close. We had our portable King (WeBoost) out there as well.

    • @DudeRV
      @DudeRV  Před 2 lety

      connectivity is not one of the major features of Fairfield but no connections is one of the primary attractor Factors of Fairfield! LOL! WE had a class c on the E450 chassis and it was always a rough ride! but it did have a 6 gal tank so we could take great showers! LOL! I really like That campsite!
      Thanks for watching!

    I've had my sv34 for a month and I have had to fix the bim (installed wrong), the slide broke 2nd trip, add 3 additional batteries to get thru the night with no gen, about to add 5100 shocks cause oem sucks, add steering stabilizer etc. Great coach but unfortunately it needs stuff to make it much better. I do like the lower and improved fuel economy. The coach gets 10 to 12 mpg towing a 8k trailer and does it very well over the mtns

    • @DudeRV
      @DudeRV  Před 2 lety

      You will love the shock upgrade! What is the "bim"? What batteries did you use and are they in the same location?

    • @michaelr1760
      @michaelr1760 Před 2 lety +1

      @@DudeRV bim, battery isolation manager, is what regulates the alternator charging of the house batteries. I believe mine was hooked up wrong from Thor. I installed 4 deep-cycle interstate 6v batteries. Now I can go all night without the generator and into the late morning before the solar start recharging the system. So far 4 good hrs of sun and the solar can fully charge the batteries without any generator use.

    Thanks so much for this review. We are considering this coach. Did you get the floor issue fixed?

    • @DudeRV
      @DudeRV  Před rokem

      Yes the floor was replaced, the slide had to be removed and reinstalled the bath was removed and reinstalled as well. , We ended up making an additional 2 trips to the dealer to have them correct the things they did not re-install correctly. Sloppy workmanship seems to be the industry standard.

    How fast are you driving while towing? 60 mph gets a lot better fuel economy than 70 or 80. Thanks for the review

    • @DudeRV
      @DudeRV  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I usually stay around 65, with that being said, I have not seen a difference in mileage based on speed, headwinds and terrain yes but not highway speeds. Thank for watching!

    Hi, I was wondering how long the charge on your house batteries lasts? I have an Omni and they only last about 8 hours.

    • @DudeRV
      @DudeRV  Před 5 měsíci

      That whole set-up is under powered! The wet cell batteries can only be depleted to 70% after that you are damaging the batteries. I found that the fridge and inverter would suck the battery pack down to that level in about an hour. We have since upgraded to Lifepo4 batteries and can now go several days. I have a video on the change....czcams.com/video/uKUPq5qSq8U/video.htmlsi=4dSMrIn7i0ZfH7aj

    Thanks for your service-have you had any issues with your big slide?

    • @DudeRV
      @DudeRV  Před rokem +1

      You are most welcome! I have had to replace the rear motor twice. due to a short in the motor wires. I am thinking that the issue is really an issue with the leveling system bleeding off on the front passenger strut causing the coach to warp and the slide to bind. good thing is the motor is simple to replace and only costs about $200.00 on Amazon. If it goes out again I will be doing the replacing and will make a video of it.

    Those flooring issues sound complicated and expensive... Have those been resolved, and if so how was the outcome...?

    • @DudeRV
      @DudeRV  Před 2 lety

      we are scheduled for that to be resolved at the end off this month. I dont think it is going to be too very complicated as they will be cutting the new floor in rather than taking all of the RV off of the floor and then replace. The only cost for us is the fuel for the drive to Houston and several nights camping.
      Thanks for watching!
