You've watched a lot of shaves videos from various creators. What's your take on the electric Vs blade?
@@shavesandmassages As an ASMR experience, i.e., from the viewer’s perspective, straight razor shaves are more relaxing, but only if done: (a) with freshly mixed, not canned, shaving cream applied with brush, i.e., no “gel;” b) using lots of hot towels;
(c) unhurriedly with a high degree of skill (no blood letting). No problem if the blade shaves are preceded by an electric razor as prep. All this said, it is increasingly difficult to find younger barbers who have been trained in the art of cut throat shaves. They are rara avis.
The traditional lather preparation is quite difficult to find, for sure

You're spot on. Foil shavers cause a lot less skin irritation. Some barbers are able to recognize this by the hair follicle and adjust accordingly.
As a fellow member of the bald head association. I prefer electric!

I had a continuous beard for almost 4 years. Shaved it off last week and immediately upon stepping to the outside cold air, knew I had made a mistake.
Why shave if you wear a hat lol

I feel like you really capture some great barber ambiance, showing off their skills without coming across as lecherous or over the top.
Also is the leaf/vine tattoo meaningful in Poland as im sure this is the second barber with that tattoo, the other being the barber who’s featured twice and gave you the van dyke beard
I'm not sure whether it has a meaning but it's definitely a popular style of tattoo around Poland!

They love their foil shavers in Poland.
Using a razor causes the back of my head to break out a couple days after as the hair begins to grow back. I always wondered why use the electric foil after using a razor

It's so refreshing to see someone taking their time to achieve the best results. Personally, I prefer to see head shaves with an electric razor as opposed to a sharp 'old school' razor blade. It's very country dependent! In Uganda I practically went only for massages!

Depends on the service really. When seated straight it's fairly easy to film so I can relax. When lying down for beard shaves, it's very hard to film and I have not managed yet to relax for those. I'm too focused on filming!

If go to a chain that’s cheaper they go with electric shaver. thanks to you and one other guy who does head shaves/ beard trims. I did some research and does straight razor but head and beard trim is 50 bucks but that is straight pampering.

I think apart from the scent, most barber talcum powders are gonna be basically the same 🤔

Though the cutthroat is way more relaxing and pleasant to receive, you really can't get closer than the foils.
@baldcafe did a microscope analysis comparing the 2. Seemed like the blade got ever so slightly closer actually.

3 questions, 1. What do they slap on your head at the end then massage in , 2. What do they spray at the end after that, and 3 , HAT? aren't u cold ?
Usually it's moisturiser / aftershave and cologne. And yeah but I was only a few minutes away from home 😎

How do you know what you're filming?
The gimbal films whatever it wants basically. So I have to check my screen after/when I move. And then I remove most of it from the videos cause people don't like it

I used to live in Kraków, indeed. But I have just moved out of Poland.
I've known men that shaved their heads and they've said that getting a straight-razor shave on the head isn't as pleasant as it looks. There's not as much tissue between the scalp and skull as there is around the face and neck.

Il y a plus de neige qu'ici a Ottawa. En fait nous avons rien du tout en se moments ce qui est très rare. Pour ce qui du vidéo, Moi jaime bien les vidéos fait aux rasoirs électrique. Personnellement je me demande vraiment si la lame offre vraiment un avantage. J'ai l'impression que ceux qui utilisent encore la lame, le font part nostalgie et par respects pour leurs professions.

@@shavesandmassages I hear what you’re saying and I guess there’s a lot of factors that contribute, the barber, the way your hair is and the brand of razor, but from my personal experience the foil razor gives a closer shave, I haven’t seen that video tho so I’m deffo gonna check it out, cheers mate, happy holidays

From ASMR perspective, blade shave is better; personal experience wise, I too prefer the electric shaver, it's both safer, faster (for most people), and less irritating.
Maybe when you travel around the world, you could find someone who does blade shave as fast as electric shave.

Thanks for yet another great video. I think training plays a lot into why they choose different tools for the job. But at the end of the day, no matter how much you train, the electric razor will always be the safer choice. You don't know how sensitive the clients skin is. Even if you have decades of training it could end up in a bloody mess cause the client is super sensitive. I feel like you will never have that issue with an electric razor.
And at the end of the day the difference is so small, if it's a proper electric razer, that it doesn't matter. Yeah, it looks cooler with a blade, but it's not worth it if the client looks like he just escaped a horror movie and has sensitive skin for a week.
