Steve, your ''cowboy notes'', as you call them are not better or worse or inferior than theirs. They are of a different style, and can be as enjoyable as what's in here, even played by a non professionnal (if it applies). Music is a language and you are only responsible for what YOU ''say'' not what the others understand.. Keep on picking man !

I'm actually a pretty good "fingerpicker" who is challenged at playing lead. I fingerpick chord melodies. I marvel at guitarist who are adept at playing lead. Thank you man !
I believe Tommy does most of his own sound work. He certainly knows that aspect extremely well and as a result everything always sounds *just perfect*.
Why was I surprised to see Tommy playing Gypsy Jazz with such finesse and confidence? Have I learned nothing in the last several years of watching him play? He plays EVERYTHING! Okay, now I know.
I hope you guys are kidding. Cos if you followed Tommy's career you'll know he is a phenomenal rhythm player as well - also incredibly humble. Gypsy jazz is Joscho Stephan's genre and Tommy is matching him stride for stride. Joscho is the more limited of the two guitarists because this is the only genre he plays. That said, both are phenomenal guitarists though Tommy is a an all round legend. These two have played together in concerts many times with Tommy choosing to play to Joscho's strengths. I have been fortunate enough to be attendance and am constantly amazed at Tommy's versatility.
It has been so much fun to watch you two develop as a duo. I see joscho picking up tommy-isms and playing a little more whimsically, and Tommy, having no trouble with the insane runs, they just keep getting more and more lively. You are both at the top of your class.
There are so many great Duet players but Joscho and Tommy play off each other better than any two players I have ever seen and are so Phenomenal together, I could listen to you guys all day long. Please...MORE!
Why do I want to just keep playing this over and over? Django was totally in a class by himself in terms of the style he created. These two carry on the legacy to perfection.
This is the ( not sure how many times ) I have watched this in awe, and it just gets better and better every time. The world is blessed to have you two amazing musicians. I am so inspired. Thank-you both for this incredible collaboration.

What happened at 1:07-1:09? Two seconds of a virtually unreachable level of guitar excellence. Amazing. absolutely amazing, I played it back about 12 times. Thank God for these guys!!!
At the end its "just" and arpeggio with harmonics. It's the precision that makes this so great. Joscho plays so clean and on point even when he plays stuff that 99% of guitar players wouldn't even dream about.
