One thing I've learned is you never say it's slow, quiet or dead, and most definitely say I'm off in 5 minutes or I'm going on break

I work in corrections and saying the Q word or B word will get you looked at with the evil eye from EVERYONE!!!

I said the q word to taunt a coworker and then got stuck on a freak call 3 hours past my shift. Never lived it down

Everyone at my restaurant knows they do not bring up how slow or quiet we are. It literally happens. I fully believe saying it's quiet during your shift, you automatically fuck yourself over

As an Air Force Security Forces member, can confirm. Do not say quiet, slow, or, depending on if you happen to be working in a weapon or munitions storage at a nuke base, don't comment on the weather.

The amount of people who actually believe you saying a word Will all the sudden cause something to happen is crazy to me.

The "Q" word is also a curse in fast food. My friend took me to work and stopped in to get a soda. Well she said she hoped i had a "Q" shift. The entire crew shouted "NOOO!" I clock in and 5 minutes later we were slammed. It did not slow down until 15 minutes befor i was scheduled to leave. For time frame my shift was 5 to 9. 5:05 we got slammed. 8:45 it starts to slow down. I clocked out at 9. When i came in the next day i was told that around 9:10 it went completely dead until close.😅
