Nimbus is literal cloud. My pick for slow runs and walking
The overlooked Saucony Shift 3 is worth a shout. I use only for easy/steady runs up to 4min/km and it makes those paces feel comfortable. I've taken it past 800km and it still looks and feels new, which I can't say for any of my other running shoes.
I love precision fuel and hydration! Very cool to see them sponsor this channel.
Nimbus and triumph all the way for long runs.l bought Asics glorify a few weeks ago and so far it has been great.
We all hope to find those shoes that just work. Mines the Hoka Clifton 9. The daily trainer that I’ve been looking for 😚👌
On cloudsurfer 7 are the best in my opinion because they are so lightweight.... And so comfy
It would be great if you did a video of best shoes for running on wet roads. You know how you mentioned that the Puma one has good grip for wetter roads? Whenever I look for grippy shoes, all recommendations are for trail shoes. But what would work on the usual pavement but when it is slippery. I run much slower if at all and with bad form whenever it rains because I always feel that I am slipping. Other people breeze by but something about my joints or how my foot lands makes it that I slip a lot even on simple walks
The Triumph 20 & 21 are the latest best cushioned shoes from the weight & responsiveness POV 🔥
I picked up a pair of Invincible 2 about four hours before this video dropped 😃so they're still out there. Currently recovering from abdominal surgery and need absolute max squish when I start running again.
Which site do u recommend to get those?
For my speed workouts I use lining fedian challenger 3 so i need something for my recovery runs, nike pegasus looks pretty solid
I have tried everything and always go back to the nimbus 25.
Do you happen to know how the Nimbus 25 differs from Superblast or Novablast 3 (my current shoe)?
Or More v4 and Velocity Nitro 2? Would like to know the midsole performance of nimbus 25... Why you love nimbus 25 so much?
@@JasonMolterboth nova/super do tempo better. Nova cheaper option but does't do the longer runs as well than either. Super costs more and you get better speed shoe, distance, stability and durability
Triumph 20 (or 21) gets better and better and better. Shoe of the year. Addictive.
Honestly, I've tried nearly all of the prior and current version of these supercushioned shoes in search of something that would help me run despite my ankle arthritis - and the Nike Alphafly blows them all out of the water. The airpods in front make a huge difference - and you get the benefits from a super fast shoe as well that is WAYYY faster than any of these cushioned shoes. I originally used Alphaflys due to speed, but having recently switched over to all-Alphafly all the time, I'm shocked when I do a run in my prior cushioned shoes - even Hoka Bondis feel less cushioned than the Alphaflys, especially at faster speeds
Interesting comment and worthy of looking into. Thanks!
Which alphafly do you recommend
BE careful, you shouldn´t run every time on carbon plated shoes. Can and most likely will destroy your achiles tendons over the long run. If you want that super cushioned feeling from the Alphaflys, take the Invincible, it`s the same but without carbon plate ;) Give it a try, it will probably save you :)
Nike makes really narrow shoes so I doubt they'd be comfortable for me.
Also take at look at the GTS version of the Brooks Glycerin if you require extra stability especially if your running form gets bad towards the end of those super long runs.
Didn't expect this on my channel, but appreciated after watching. Now would appreciate a vid on best shoes for walking/hiking. As we need best shoe for neighborhood walks as we walk our dog a few miles. As well as one for best to use when doing these walks on our local trails for consideration of walking over roots, rocks, etc. With as well going up/down hills, log overs, etc. Now that's a vid we and our walking/hiking buddies could use.
No mention of the Adidas Prime X (regular or strung)???
We both like that green color. Like yourself I bring neon green to every sport clothes and shoes i can.
I’ve never really had a running shoe or collection or anything but atm I’m using the Clifton 8s I think they are and Mach 5
Love the 2 hate the invincible 3 sold it on Ebay heal slippage and just does not feel right.NB more v4 is my choice.
Great review! I'm an ex-runner due to knee issues, plantar fascitis., and high arches. I use tailor-made insoles whenever I wear my Nimbus 25. They are a great shoe, but would love to have an alternative shoe that would be at the same level as the Asics. Any suggestions? Triumph 21? Hoka? Thanks in advance! 😊
ASICS makes shoes perform well but they don't last longer, and get torn, especially the front part
Can you compare the invincible 3 vs 1080v13? I’m trying to decide between those two.
I’ve been having some knee pain, probably from arthritis. I would love to hear your recommendation for the cushioned shoe that would take some of the stress off of my knee for distance running.
I’m torn… I have Clifton 9’s and Trabuco Max 2’s as dailies (i live in the nordics so trails+winter) and thinking of getting a third pair in my rotation. Can’t choose between Mach 5 and Novablast 3 TR (Wet, snow)… 😅 Better options? Has to be well cushioned, since i have prolapsed disc in my back that i have to be careful of 😅
Puma magnify nitro original is cheap and good now. Great grip, stable and bouncy ride ang fits well. £45
Always appreciate Nick sneaking the Puma Velocity Nitro 2 into every round-up 😋
Puma shd really sponsor Nick, he's winning races and stuff.
Completely agree….. Puma SPONSOR Nick!!!
And Tom sneaking in the NB More V4!
@@dri1811ya😅😅😅
@@dri1811ya😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
What about the Puma Magnify Nitro 2? I thought it would have been added to this video.
Personally, i prefer the nike invincible 2
Between Superblast and gel nimbus 25, which one is a better shoe, more bouncy and more comfortable?
I have Achilles issue. What’s a good shoes for me to look for on my runs
All dismissed except the superblast!
tried them all. Will always use the superblast. I can even use it as a daily shoe if i need to go outside.
I wish it were cheaper 😢
@@mjcau look at it with price per mile. if it can get me past 1000km, it'll be worth it. the cushion is thick
@@jasperherr8694 but price per mile Puma Velocity Nitro 2 always wins 😜
Guess I'll just wait for a sale one day...
Does the Boston 12 fit in this category
Essex Gel Nimbus 😂 Gotta love the Brits
Any thoughts on the ASICS Novablast 3 LE? I wore a pair of Novablast for my first marathon, but the light mesh of the LE is intriguing from a cooling point of view. But at the same time worried it might be a bit less solid?
Or would it be worth going the bit extra for the Superblast for the next marathon?
If you like how the Novablast feels, it’s probably best to save money and forgo the Superblast. However, if you want more comfort the Superblast is definitely a step up since the midsole is mostly the same FFTurbo foam found in their racing super shoes.
@@darthjohn0 cheers for the reply! Sometimes it is best to stick with what you know works…
Getting very tempted by some Superblasts. Does anyone happen to know if they size the same as Novablast 3 (which come up too long) or are they closer to the fit of Metaspeed which for me fitted perfect?
@@komsoh thanks for that, sounds like it must fit more like a Metaspeed Sky/Edge then.
I can also confirm Superblast is TTS for me. I went 1/2 size down for Novablast 3. Superblasts have been that good for me that I have been tempted to switch my race shoe from Vaporflys to Metaspeeds. Thats how highly id rate the Superblast.
@@joshtiffin1963 I’ve admittedly never tried Vaporflys so can’t compare but can confirm the Metaspeed Edge+ are class, blasted my PBs as soon as I got them.
@@joshtiffin1963 have you found the superblast good for tempo work as well as slower work like a lot of the reviews?
@@leesoutheastI have.
Talk about Puma FastRoid Nitro
HI. Ive loved running in Saucony Speed 2's I bought several pairs and am on the last pair now. I have a pair of speed 3's and really do not get on with them, I find them just too spongy. I love the Pro 3's for races etc,
but am really looking to replace the speed 2's with something but there are so many out there. I wondered what you run testers would say is the best replacement for the speed 2's. TIA
I’m also a fan of the Speed/Pro 2 and the ASICS Magic Speed 2 because it seemed similar (and on sale). Haven't used them yet but they seem promising.
Where are the Adidas lightstrike pro?
Frankly i dont understand most of the lingo used in these types of videos. Whats does versatility mean vs stability? For an average person who spends most of their time running on streets and treadmills, are there really 12+ shoes this many options that are serious contenders?
I feel like im struggling to find an mkbhd of running shoes who will say which target market is best served by which product
Versatility: can be used for a wider variety of run types, such as slow/easy/long distance, fast intervals (max speed), tempo runs (25% short of your max heart rate).
Stability: shoes with higher stacks i.e. more than average cushioning are not as stable due to the extra height. In order to improve safety & comfort (like avoid falling when you turn, if run isn't in a straight line), some manufacturers build a wider platform (extra cushion/outsole) near the bottom of the shoe - at both sides, left and right. This keeps you from slipping when wearing higher shoes and feeling unstable especially when in non-ideal conditions, it's similar to the feeling you get when wearing stilts.
Small people less than 185lbs should look at ASICS Gel Nimbus 25
Full size people 190+lbs Brooks Glycerin 20. Brooks is way better for men Asics are really good for women most Men are larger the gel Nimbus lacks tbe support for heavier people and we jjst collapse that soft foam like nothing. The Brooks are more heavy-duty suspension for heavy-duty humans. Kind of like how a Honda Civic needs completely different suspension than a Ford F-150 the same foam will not perform the same for much heavier people you're going to need a different brand and Brooks is better for bigger people because their foam has more support and is not so squishy and easy to bottom out.
Id love to see reviews based on peoples weight. I am male, 105 lbs and things work differently for me than a 180lb+ guy!!!
I 115kg, nimbus is cushion and comfortable, but only last me for six month daily usage. Last week just buy brooks glycerine 20 gts, hear that more durability, but i not sure is my shoe issue or what, less than a week i already don't feel the cushion after half hour standing. Any recommend durability shoe for overweight please? Thanks.
When i started running as a beginner and more heavy than i am today, i used kayano. It worked for me and lasted me till about 700km
@@jasperherr8694 thanks jasper, will gv a try for that
You need the KAYANO 30.
@@ihussain1011 yup already a week with kayano 30, so far so good
Triumph is the best shoe on this list. Hands down. 2nd is Superblast.
I was rolling along in this video until you went to Velocity Nitro and you lost me. 💩
Asics Superblast are hot and feel like marshmellows filled with lead. Asics Magic Speed 3 are amazing compared to these.
Think you must have got a duff pair!
hi run testers. can you please tell me which two shoes has the softest midsole from all the shoes you mentioned here?
I bought a pair of triumph 20’s and they kill my feet/ankles even on short runs. Anyone else experience this?
1) Endorphin speed 2) Mach5 3) superblast
How would you compare Speed 2 vs Super-Blast? Thanks!!!
there's probably not a right answer to these lists, but if there was one, it'd be this
@@rajkumarraosinhji1397speed 2 more 'pep' and more of a tempo shoe but with less stability and maybe you don't want to wear it each day- buy the speed 3 for more daily trainer. Superblast great at all speeds (you get surprised by the speeds you are holding). Great for long runs- i prefer over the speed 3.
Thanks!!! Will get Speed 3 (and not 2) and SuperBlast then.
Wilder shift tone 1
Fircroft Rybach 12
Vision now tunnel Glyde 3
After watching this video I'm thoroughly confused. Which one should I buy?
That just shows you can’t go wrong with a lot of them.
@@Artemis-v8i Not true. I have the Nike Pegasus and they are awful. I absolutely hate them. Gave them to Purple Hearts.
Honestly, you gotta try them for yourself to see the best fit. I would go with On surfer but your preference on the cushion and foam might differ.
Cushioned shoes. So hot right now.
Perché non viene spiegato in italiano???😢😢
Not a single Adidas shoe in the list?
I miss quite a few words as the speaking is quite fast
Glycerin 20, really???
Didn't it win the reader's choice poll from a few months ago?
Lot of people in my run club wear the glycerin. It’s popular because it’s a no nonsense shoe that eats up the miles, lasts forever (+600miles in my case) and the cushioning doesn’t bottom out or degrade. Sure not the most exciting, but definitely reliable and gets the job done with no drama for those long slow runs.
Novablast 4 is the daddy!
Tried Hoka once (Clifton 8). Never again. Awful brand!
Bullshit marketing of almost ALL shoes in the market, to insure “financial support from almost all manufactures.
"To insure" waddaya mean ?
What is the softest one? I really need it for recovery
I've owned/tried most. Asics Nimbus 25 is the softest but not my favourite which goes to the More v4.
@@Morganix01would you say they are softer than the 1080s ?
@@samchu5335 I think the FFX in the 1080s may measure softer than the FFB+ Eco in the Nimbus on a durometer scale but the Nimbus feels softer on foot due to a combination of the greater stack height and gel layer.
@@Morganix01 thank you
@@Morganix01what are the differences in the midsole of more v4 vs nimbus 25? Deciding between the two... what you like and don’t like in the midsole of both shoes
