- After spending a few days with the Iroz Motorsport team in Las Vegas, Nevada, I asked if I could come with them to Famoso Dragstrip. They were going to attempt to run a 7 second 1/4 mile pass in Jeff Thompson's RS3. I couldn't wait to see the BLACK BEAST in action! It was an experience I will never forget and will be eternally grateful to Hank and his entire team for the invitation.

Being the owner of a TTRS I can attest the sound of that 5 cylinder is intoxicating. So is the power.👍
I like the non 7 sec time slips that keep blowing to the back of the RS3😂😂. This car ran 14 full passes and a handful of half passes that day and the car is solid! Very impressive!

That many successful full-tilt runs & a record to boot, is a testament to how awesome Hank & IROZ are. The RS3 is such a great platform......don't think I'll ever get mine that fast, but I sure as heck ain't selling it any time soon!
Motor is a weak point. After 550 you need the motor built.. 💰 🤑 💸
@@davothegreat9990lmaoo no you don’t fool. You can run up to 700-800 with stock internals. Do research before you speak about something.
@simonz5002 incorrect. Piston and rods known to fail at 550hp and most build their motors from here.

@@brianchuck9264 absolutely. A TON of changes are coming to the channel with my RS3, but the idea has and always will be to go step by step with my build and not 0-100 all in one go. I'd like to be able to share the process of the build with everyone to help them figure out what they'd like to spend on their RS3 investment, without having to go all in.

Famoso Raceway is NOT in Bakersfield, Ca. It's in McFarland, Ca.. idk why its always been advertised as a Bakersfield track. It's my home track. I grew up 20 minutes away from there.

I just did 2 minutess of Google research and found out why people say Bakersfield and not McFarland. It's because there are roughly 3 quarter of a million people that live in Bakersfield and less than 15,000 that live in McFarland, haha.

@@VancityAudiit's always baffled me honestly. It's 20 miles away from Bakersfield. Either way, i've had some great times out there...as well as the rural orchard roads that surround it.
Isn’t it awd? Did they convert it to fwd?
They simply deactivate the AWD system to do a burnout to warm up the front tires and reactivate AWD to launch the car

is this thing fwd? or is it just doing burnouts on the front tires to get them stickier and then switched back to awd for launch? if its only fwd why are there slicks on the rear? crazy fast car but i am so confused haha

@@VancityAudi Awesome thanks! i am only 50 seconds in to the video and had to pause it. first thought that comes to mind.... i need this for my car but cut the front wheel drive so you can have a drift mode for some different fun in the winter than always awd!
EDIT: sick so it does exactly what i would want it to do!

That car is far from stock tbh its gutted it is a impressive feat none the less would love to see a full weight car do some runs
I never said the car was stock, lol. I said underneath the car was. All they have are lowering springs, and they've removed the exhaust.
It isn't fully stripped! We can still pull 250 lbs out. Stull has A/C, full dash and center console. Back seats pulled out, tillet drivers seat.
@@user-jo7fv4tb3i carbon doors and lexan windows are probably more weight reduction than AC etc. Great accomplishment.
Brooo this car still has the Audi transmission among several other factory Audi parts. I can’t think of another car doing these numbers and isn’t motech everything. Trust me iRoz and Audi are legit and that’s why I got a TT RS mk3 can’t wait to build it even more
