    I miss a table comparing it to direct competitors. Perhaps it was in the 63kWh Ariya vid, but I haven't watched that. To me it makes sense to also do one here, just a comparison against eg Model Y, ID5 (the MEB car most similar in shape?), Mach-E

    Pro Pilot won't cancel autosteer, on the contrary, it will keep steering until the car safely stopped and the parking brake is automatically enabled. Premium traffic and all other services will come free for three years if you purchase a leaf. Stupid though, that they don't activate it on press cars...

    Thanks for the very informative data you provide. I have a question for you if I may. There is a difference of around 4,000 Euros between the iD.5 GTX and Ariya 87kWh FWD, the Ariya being the most expensive. For AWD Ariya 87kWh, you need to add an additional 4,000 Euros to that. Now that you tested both iD.5 GTX and Nissan Ariya, considering my price difference, should you still go for the Ariya? Thanks.

      @alanjenkins1508 Před rokem +3

      Drag is as velocity squared so at 120 km/hr drag is around 77% higher than at 90 km/hr. The fact that this much more energy is not used is presumably due to fixed energy consumption, such as heaters, which will be reduced if the journey duration is shorter.

  • @FreeMountainTom
    @FreeMountainTom Před rokem +4

    Disappointing to me that Nissan claims 87kWh capacity but you only get 80kWh. Especially in combination with the fact that the car stops displaying range below 5% and gives you a bad feeling on top of it with a warning "can't start". The first thing I worry about then is, what if I stop now, turn the car off and I am not at the charger? Can't I start the car again? At least the car claims so. Not very well done...

    • @nissanelectrified9583
      @nissanelectrified9583 Před rokem +13

      You can easily drive this car down to 5 % or even 1%. You still get 50% power then. It's designed to get you home no matter what. It's one of the few (maybe the first?) car to actually best Björn in the 0 mile test. At close to 40Km below zero, he gave up. Reason for this car being that way is the weather in Japan. They have lot's of critical weather events, and super bad winters in the north. Every year, people die in their cars because they can't get home in the blizards. So if Nissan builds an EV, they build it so you will get home, or at least stay warm until help arrives. In the end, this car actually is better designed than most, since you can confidently use the range it has. No need to charge at 20%.

    • @FreeMountainTom
      @FreeMountainTom Před rokem +3

      @@nissanelectrified9583 That's good to know. But nevertheless a car from 2022 should be able to display range below 5%. It should also display a clear warning. "Can't start" is not clear at all. If you don't know anything about the car and read "can't start" would you know what it means? Usually it means the car can't start...

      @@FreeMountainTom The decision to not display range has nothing to do with "can" or "can't". As in all other cars that do this. Which is about every car. The error message - yeah, with you on that one. But that's sort normal when driving japanese cars. I have yet to find one that didn't have at least one cute translation error. Part of the deal :)
