There is an electric car, the Kenguru, now in production in US for both manual and electric wheelchairs. Completely enclosed for all seasons and entry ramp is in the rear.

I might need one but you never answered my questions I posted before " what is the price for this vehicle and what is their range and speed?" what do you consider a short commute? You also need to install a standard wheelchair lock down so a person would be more independent. the way it is now some one has to assist you. what disabled people need is their independence.

Good idea but drivers still need to hire assistants to help them buckle or undo. Can someone not design something to auto buckle After being lifted into a driver's seat? Also, why sren't all cars designed with the option to purchase a wider front door on the side of their choice or easier adaptability things like an enclosed 5 x 5 trailer that can be hooked onto a hitch and the floor lowered automatically so many disabled can easily get in or out and ubbuckle without needing assistance? Most can't even remove their walkers! Outside lifts are a pain in the butt because their scooters are unprotected and can be easily stolen, ice cold, wet, or damaged. If they can desighn extensions for a half ton, why not such extensions for cars?

I believe it might have served you better to have shown the option of NOT NEEDING someone else to drive you. Our need is to END dependence! Also, sides and windows are a necessity. Imagine a piece of lumber, or tread from a truck tire comes flying by - you're in big trouble!
