You always seem to have the most realistic and usable advice! My wife and I really appreciate all that you've shared online. We're planning on getting 2 tangs (Yellow and Yellow bellied Hippo...very young, very small and at the same time) for our 90 gal tank with plans on expanding to a 250-300 gal tank within a couple of years so they shouldn't outgrow our plans.
I never knew that it had to do with the facial structure 👍👍 good to know
Awesome video Travis and great information as well. I was happy to see Ocean is getting along with his tank mates.😀👍
Stunning tank! What parameters do you keep your 300 at? It looks like you are getting some great growth out of your corals.
Your plan for you tangs is fing insane.... I love it can't wait. Great stuff ... Respect
Always add fish at night in the middle of the night!
Love your aquascape ! Looks amazing and open !
powder blue looks great in that system :D
I primarily only have tangs in my system but I kinda just get my collection of what I want and add them all one shot deal. Then thats it lol, the few times I've attempted to add additional tangs they've either caused ich outbreaks or died because they were getting picked on. I plan on upgrading from the 150 to a 220 and when i make that change I'm going to add 6 more tangs hopefully it all works out well
So many Tangs, love em all. Favs are purple and kole
Good tips on adding multiple tangs Travis. I have 3 tangs in my Red Sea reefer and have hardly any aggression except for the occasional tail slapping.
Did you give the new tangs a name? The achilles tang will look awesome in that tank. Great vid
Good information on the tangs
Wow the tank is looking really good 👍
nice fish in such a large set up,most likely shouldn't be any problem
Great tips mate. Nice tank too!
Always so sketchy adding tangs. I just picked up a pair from my LFS. A yellow belly blue and a white tail Thompson. I was only going to get the blue but they were in the same tank and looked like they paired up. Watched them for about 10 mins and decided to get them both. They are super happy and tang out together all day.
Seems like an option for anyone looking to get multiple tangs.
Awesome to see those tangs finally in the DT, congrats they look super healthy! How is the pregnant clown in QT doing? Did she have her babies in there?
The mirror worked for me had it on there for one week after that I removed the mirrors all the fish get along
Thank you this vid is great i am adding a hippo to my tank soon
My flame tomini tang is so agressive to new fish except the pixie hawk
Pls do another update on your tangs. I am about to add 4 tangs to my 450 gallon that already has a blue hippo and sail fin
some great info.
do it with the lights off its much more ffefctive
My yellow tang is a softie. Can hand feed him too
I've got a 210g that I've been adding stock to. I have been trying to go with the least aggressive fish first and increasing in the aggression as they complete quarantine. I've got a few wrasses in quarantine now. Next group of fish for the 210g will be dwarf angels. Last group will be tangs. I also have a 50g cube. The main fish in this tank is a clown tang. He's about 4 inches. Initially, I wanted to put him in the 210g, but I think he may out grow the 50g before I am ready to introduce tangs to the 210g. I also think he'll be too big and will bully the other fish. Thoughts?
Will be answered in this weeks q&a video
I look forward to your response.
Can anyone tell me if Acan coral shed. This morning I noticed a light film on it,took a turkey baster and blew it off. Also, noticed the same on our candy cane coral, although, some of the candy cane coral's tentacles were out for the first time I noticed. I believe this to be, because, we started using Poly Booster along with Reef Roids the other day. Enjoy this channel very mcuh and appreciate your assistance. Dan
Please guide on adding fish order please. Iam setting up a 180gallon tank with minimalist rock structure. Similar to luo's reek tank. Sump is 65 gallon with brick media.. skimmer and refug.
I want to keep 2 sets of clown fish occerlaris pair and black ice pair. Blonde Naso , powder blue, yellow, regal, one bristletooth(either 2 spot or sqaure tail)(maybe sailfin or not if advise). And six line, red coris and a pair of leopard wrasse. 2 or 3 blue green chromis. A foxface. A schooling banner. I like my wrasse and tangs very much. Please advise the order/method to put tanks. I plan to get small or juvenile if possible. Also please any utilitarian fish would be appricated.
Did all of the Tangs continue to get along?
How long do I leave the mirror in the tank for?
Very nice,Tank measurements ?
Great update! does your H2 overflow make any noise?
My tang only one in tank keeps dive bombing the sand than wagering in sand so it gose all over
Great video, Tangs are my favourite saltwater fish, shame there is this aggression problem. I have 4 currently but I am re homing my vampire tang as he is Satan unfortunately so should be able to get a couple more 👍✌️
Any suggestions?
Two weeks ago powder blue was set free from behind egg crate in 180 with powder brown. For 24 hours it was fine, then brown wouldn’t swim tank and stayed in front right corner with Blue swimming the tank keeping brown there. No fighting but I separated the blue. Should I put them back together and only separate if the aggression gets out of hand?
Thanks, Dave
Oh My Goodness! I'm stocking up my 210g. I got a naso tang and a bi-color foxface a few weeks ago. They're in the 3 to 4 inch range. I've had a clown tang in a 50g cube for almost a year. It's a solid 4, maybe 5 inches, and much too big for the 50g. I transferred it to the 210g and within an hour had my naso and foxface in a corner. I am trying, like you suggested, going with a few feedings of algae strips each day to try to reduce the food related aggression. I'll give it some more time to see if the clown mellows out. I found myself rooting for the foxface to stick the clown. Does that make me a bad guy?
great videos as always. loves the PBT. i getting a QT tank size 2.5feet sufficient to quarantine 3 tangs together? tq as always
Nice !!
What kind of mirror do you use? I'm planning on adding a couple tangs soon myself!
i have a Vlamingi tang about 4 to 4 half inchs long can i add a naso tang in a 220 fish only
tank thx you
Hello! Do you have any updates? Are all still getting along?
Lol look how small the lobo was 😂
Thats nothing look at the old 125 videos. Been growing this coral for 5 years it was one of my first ever.
Kinda of a dumb question , but would adding the fish after the lights went out at night,Help with the aggression?
What is the size of your tank?
awesome! thank you! bare bottom huh!?
Thinking of adding a yellow tang and a scopas at the exact same time. They are practically the same size (3") My tank is 5 ft long ( 90 gallons ) with a lot of swim space and currently 6 small fish in the tank. Will it work?
Beautiful fish do you know of any tangs i could keep in a 40 gallon was thinking yellow eye kole or tomini
Probably too late but please just dont. Please
No purple tang?
how much live rock do you have in there? do you plan on adding more?
150lbs and nope
How big is the Tank
i have a question.... when its getting night time should i keep my blue lights on or should i make it completely dark? (have no fish YET)
off at night
from what ive read, corals also can contain ich or velvet right? (basically anything thats wet). whats your take on this. thanks!
czcams.com/video/JsWKz0PbeVk/video.html
thanks. ive read from forum that corals need to be quarantined 72 days also( at least 45 days ). i take it that 30 days would be enough for you?
Anybody know if i can put a flowerhorn with a blue tang
What is your quarantine process?
