  • We have made an egg fried rice recipe video before, in fact I think it was the 2nd video we ever made, over 6 years ago (2018), but since making it, we’ve had loads of questions that we failed to address in the first video, so this is far more in depth than our original egg fried rice recipe recipe, if you’ve seen the first video, you might still learn something new from this. I would also like to point out that this is just one way of doing it, doesn’t mean this is how every Chinese takeaway or takeout will be cooking their fried rice, this is just the most common method I’ve seen after working in over 15 takeaways (not ours) and form owning them. If there is one thing we teach you, we hope that is cooking isn’t right or wrong, if you like it then that’s all that matters. On a side note Chinese takeaways and takeout's are not using basmati rice! if you want to recreate it exactly at home use the rice we suggested, how ever basmati is a very good rice and makes nice fried rice.

In Japan when making basic egg fried rice, we often use chicken oil instead of vegetable oil. We also add a few shakes of white pepper right at the end just before serving 🥢🍚 Love all your videos. You and your mum are a great team 👍
