    What if you quarter him at the same place you shoot him then transport the meat home? I fill out the tag and harvest log but I can’t tag meat

      1. Take a hunter safety course.
      2. Buy your hunting license.
      3. Buy a tag either online or at a Walmart or sporting good store. This can be an antlerless or either sex tag normally.

      @@nsant no in Texas you get 5 tags and 2 are for antlerless. They come with the $25 license. I don’t think you can buy any more tags but you can pay for raffle drawings

    I can't believe TPW doesn't have an app to make this simple. People like me will just opt out of hunting because of the hassle with licensing/tagging etc....In todays age you should be able to get a license, all the things you need, tag deer etc from an app. I don't even carry around a pen.

    • @jarongittinger
      @jarongittinger Před 4 lety

      Dude it is so easy as long as you have your hunter education all you need is to buy a tag. You can buy them from the TPWD website and get them delivered to your house in about a week.

      Its about trying to make rules that people will break so the fines can be collected for revenue. I just hunt on my own land now.

    How are you supposed to attach the tag to the deer? And is there a specific place to attach? Also on a side note we need to look at redesigning the tag having to cut out the date is to cumbersome compared to other states tags

    • @texasparksandwildlife
      @texasparksandwildlife  Před 8 lety +1

      The hunting license tag may be attached anywhere on a deer so that it is not damaged, defaced or lost in transporting or handling. The appropriate tag or applicable permit must remain attached to the deer until the animal reaches its final destination and is quartered. See more on tagging at tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/licenses/tagging-instructions/tagging-deer

      If hunting registrations are too hard for you, you should stay home. You cut the date so you cannot erase it later and reuse the tag. How to all of this is in the regulation book, read it. Most states use the cut-out method too .... for the same reason .... poachers.

    • @kfelix2934
      @kfelix2934 Před 3 lety +1

      Jesus, your guys make it sound like cutting a notch in tag requires a PHD. You have a knife for skinning the deer right ? So just cut a in the date and month, write the county down and I use my property R-ID-number and be done. It takes maybe 2 mins to do all of that. smh
