The reason why fragrances smell inconsistent is separation. Yes we can't shake fragrances but we can gently rotate and spin them. Game changer
A Bal D’afrique extrait version, done correctly, would crush the industry!
That jawn would cost 600 bucks 🤣
@@MeNMyKickz1988 If they could really manifest what my imagination tells me something of that caliber should be? Then ring me up for 1200 bucks. I’ll gladly take TWO 😂😂
Their extraits are $330 for the 1.6 oz. They just need to make it but they never upgrade a fragrance.
I have the rollerball oil of it. Its amazing
Already done. It’s called Contralto by Sospiro.
Yay! I’ve been holding out on byredo and hoping you would make a dedicated video thank you !
I first fell in love with Bal D'Afrique but I smelled Blanche and love the soapy and fresh feeling. I got the bottle of Blanche but will definitely get a bottle of BDA.
I feel like Bullion and 1996 could be siblings. My favorite is Mojave Ghost. I feel like Biblioteque is the femme version of Tuscan Leather. The fruit (black current in this case) in the top and the deep leather in the base is so luxurious and definitely gives me Tuscan Leather vibes.
I absolutely love Black Saffron. I get so many compliments on it and it wears well on me. I want to try others from this House .
YES! So glad that you made it, thank you Seb :))
Great list need to try more Byredos but shocked to not see Gypsy Water make the list!
Just picked up Tobacco Mandarin! I'm loving it so far. Need to do a deep dive on this house in '22. You have me curious about Bal 'D Afrique. Thanks for the Vid. Have a Safe and Happy New Year's Eve!
Great review and Happy New Year! Bal D Afriique is my no. 1 from Byredo as well! Would love to hear your thoughts on Bibliotheque, Gypsy Water and Mojave Ghost!
Bal d’Afrique is one of my signature fragrances. I love it so much. Great video!
Great list, I agree with you top 2, velvet Haze and Bal D’afrique. I also love the freshness of Blanche and the woodiness of Oud Imortell. But my new favorite is Slow Dance!
Have to agree with you on the top 2 however I would reverse their positions. Great video
I agree, Bal d'Afrique is a lovely fragrance. But my fave is Eleventh Hour - the type of EDP I could never be without. Will have to try to get a sample of Accord Oud, which sounds great.
Thanks once again for usually informative videos. Wanted to know a bit more on how long lasting each was but again your vid will help in my selection
Thank for list Sebastian! Love Byredo brand, owning about 6. I own rodeo and it's the most unique Byredo of all that I own. Like you I've one discontinued that is very rare, super hard to fimd. It's /WESTBROOK, great summer/fall scent.
Thanks again & Happy New Yrs. A2!
Love byredo! My top 5 are Mojave ghost, bal d’afrique, rose of no man’s land, young rose and inflorescence
I’d love to see an updated ranking for L’Artisan Parfumeur, thanks xxx
You're the only reliable nose I trust. Your ability to translate the scent and vibe lets me smell it through the screen.
The tobacco mandarin is so good! Loving it alot👌🏼
Sabastian i have come to really like your reviews....You no why? Your very very smart when it comes to Fragrances!!! You explain things very very well...Today in the Rocky Montana of Montana it is currently 15 below zero this morning...Brrrrr the coldest temp of the season so far....
Woop woop!! I'm so excited for this video, Bal D'afrique has to be your #1
Great video and I enjoyed it and the only fragrance I tried from this brand is Slow Dance and I'm going to try the other fragrances and have a blessed day
Happy New Year Sebastian. Great video. I liked Nullion from this brand but it is not available. I like Palermo and Pulp is my favourite.
I’m totally blown away by 1996 by byredo and never hear people mention it.. i really wonder what you think of it. Its the most delicious sweet creamy almost nutella like boozy scent… its insanely beautiful
Happy New Year from Dubai Sebastian and to everyone. Great video as always.👍🏾
Another great review 😬
Next house I would like to see is Slumberhouse if possible please ☺️ Happy New Year! 🎉🥂
Need to try this brand, for me Tobacco Mandarin, Mumbai Noize and Bal D'afrique are the ones that I will try. Happy New Year Sebastian, thank you for all the reviews, interviews and knowledge that you share with us, wish you the best for 2022!!!
Bought Slow Dance and it’s a pretty good experience! Not an everyday fragrance but definitely give it a try! Another one created by Jérôme Epinette😅
Another great review, many thanks and Happy New Year
I have the same reaction with mixed emotions..I didn’t like it at first but there’s something in it that I keep coming back sniffing. Now I now enjoyed wearing it. The others I enjoy is bibliotheque, inflourescence, eleventh hour, unnamed, pulp and sundazed.
Happy New Year's , Thanks for a great wealth of knowledge this year , Looking forward to the knowledge you bring to 2022 !! Dave at 55.
Sellier is amazing it's definitely a must have for me. I enjoy alot Mixed Emotions, Eleventh Hour is nice.
Great review! I would love if you do reviews on the Chanel exclusive line and reviews on Diptyque! Thank you!❤️
Agree with you about Bal d’afrique .. Have a happy new year
Ah Velvet Haze! Yes I like it and have a full bottle of it. I like the fact that it isn't that popular and that makes it more special to wear I think. What about: BYERDO and Oliver Peoples. I liked that fragrance oh so much!
Rose Noire, Gypsy Water, Pulp, Slow Dance, and Oliver Peoples for me. Haven't smelled them all though. Happy New Year Sebastian :-)
Olala, this made me really happy! Only thing missing to me is Gypsy water :)
just 2 days ago, I purchased Byredo’s “Deep Viola” at Harrods - a light woody, oudy violet - even gentle without being shy… lovely!
Happy new year Sebastian and all your fans
Sebastian, EBK Paris please. Feliz Año Nuevo!
Happy NY to you and your loved ones. Have a Great Blessed 2022.
Have done any videos on Monsillage, motif olfactif or Strangers? Interested to hear more about them. Thanks
I’ll be working for them in Harrods this coming Sunday
I have not smell all of them but I love Blanche. Actually could you do a video about your favourite soapy clean parfumes that smell like Marsiglia soap?
Green and Tulipe are the only two I own and loved enough to own but I should revisit this house. I haven’t put my nose on any since 2010.
Wonderful video brother.Been looking at Tobacco Mandarin for awhile.
Soon as I got Tabacco Mandarin my mum stole it immediately..... absolutely bueatiful ...... try a brand Einx Idolo just as intense as Tabacco Mandarin
I will get a sample of Sun Dazed- sounds great for the Summer😊
Happy New Year Sebastian .... 🥳🥳✌🥂🍺🍻🍸🍹🥳🥳 can't wait to grab Tobacco Mandarin & Bald D'Afrique ... Cheers Brutha 😎
I love 1996 and Bibliotheque. Mixed Emotions, Black Saffron, and Rose of No Man's Land are also great. I find Black Saffron reminds me of Tom Ford's Black Violet, but a fresher version and Black Violet has smoke in it which I do not get in Black Saffron.
1996 is so underrated. Not a lot of people that are familiar with it and almost can be masculine leaning for some but is such a unique scent.
Wheres Mojave Ghost ?😱🙈shocker !!happy new year to you too!
Bal D’afrique was a blind buy for me about a year ago, and imo is the best from this house. My local Nordstrom here in beautiful Silicon Valley started carrying this brand about a month ago, so I got to test them all. Yeah, Bal D’afrique is the best!
I know this is a few years later, but how's the longevity?
Velvet haze reminds a lot of musc for her from Narciso Rodriguez, I wish you try the Sellier and Reine De Nuit from the blood collection of Byredo, I’m really hoping to see your view on these ones soon.
Seven Veils, Bibliotheque, Elevator Music and 1996 are interesting fragrances. Some would say that Seven Veils is too sweet and floral but it's a beautiful fragrance nevertheless.
Thank you Sebastian for great reviews but I just want to ask you about Rose of no man’s land? What you think about that 🤔And also please do review Juliette has a Gun luxury collection, please, please, please😍
Ball d'Afric is beautifull.
I also like "Rose of no man's land"
For me… Black Saffron smells very similar to Hot Couture by Givenchy with a hint of cigarettes in the background. Beautiful scent and unique
I'm a byredo fan. I was a bit intimidated at first by the prices and bought some body products first but finally purchased a perfume. Black Saffron Bibliotheque and Bal d'afrique are amazing. Mixed emotions and Mumbai noise are wonderful too.
Heliotropia is one of their best. I bought in NY Soho- but it was made for Liberty of London. No one ever discusses this one.
3. Rose Noir, 2. Oud Immortel, and 1. Encens Chembur. Honorable mention goes to Baudelaire.
Velvet Haze is SO underrated when it comes to this house. Everyone always talks about the others but Velvet Haze is my #1 for sure
exactly thats number 1 for me
is it more for females?
I want to try the Mandarin. I have MG and BDA. I dont wear them that much though.
Awesome list
Sundaze 1st choice after this video I need to try velvet haze
My favorites are
1:Baudelere
2:Bullion
3:Super Cedar
At the end of last year I got a sample of Bal D’Afrique. I don’t know what note it is or what does it has this perfume but it’s in my memory. Like I’m in my desk working and suddenly I remember the smell of BA and want to use it right away.
I want to say three things
- Las Vegas's MGM Grand smells delightful as you enter. There's a bouquet of flowers.
- Accord Oud is like stepping into a similar boquet or house of flowers. It smells delifghtfully earthy , exotic, organic and extremely friendly.
- I just got Bal D'Afrique. I like it but I got some form of Covid so my smell senses are muted. Today however I sprayed it and somewhat my senses have restored and I think I like it. I still think Accord Oud is better though. I will update. Thank you for your recommendations.
Bal D Afriique is truly beautiful , I am presently on my third bottle 🙃, 2nd place Mojave Ghost, 3rd Sundazed , 4th Gypsy Water - 5th TBC - though Tobacco Mandarin has piqued my interest 🤔 - I did blind buy Mixed Emotions but I really found it hard work so I returned it 😵💫 - Happy New Year Sebastian and all others too 🎉
Agree with you about Mixed Emotions. My emotions aren’t mixed at all, it’s just no 😬
@@mizpah1993 😂, indeed , there was no hesitation on packing it back in its box and no moment of “ lets try that again” 🤭
I love Reine de Nuit and Gypsy Water and Mixed Emotions. But it isn’t a house I’m that in love with. Unnamed sounds great. M/Mink …I know what you mean…sometimes beautiful and then there are those days when it smells yucky. Interesting concoction.
Maybe because i like the light floral scent almost it's like a lily of the valey based , my top favourite is inflorescence and la tulipe.
Absolutely love every single fragrance from this house. BDA , sun dazed and and Black Saffron are my faves. The only one I hate is Tobacco Mandarin. It made me feel physically ill. 😩 I also wished there was more longevity but perhaps that’s not possible given how light and airy they are!
Is it scents beast mode and last long?
Great video 🤩
I bought Bal D'afrique and really disliked it the first two times I tried it. A few months later I tried it again and now cannot get over how much I love it. So strange!. I recently bought samples of 12 Byredo perfumes from a decanter. I can't wait to try some of the others.
My top 3 are Bal D Afrique, Sundazed, and 1996. I really loved gypsy water and mumbai noise.
Its for men or women ?
I haven't smelled any Byredo yet.
Happy New Year 🌹
Pulp is an amazing fruity scent and for me one of the best Byredo creations, next to Gypsy water but the really best Byredo one is Rose of no man's land. Can be worn by men as well but needs a bit of getting used to it 🙂
Happy New Year!
My favorites from Byredo are Mojave ghost & Gypsy water 🔥🔥🔥
The Gypsy Water & Mohave Ghost body wash are yummy too.
Mojave Ghost is a great clean fragrance, hope you can check that out
cuir obscur is a harrods exclusive but its my favorite byredo by far
Reine de Nuit is probably my no. 1 - surprised it wasn't included!
Great video, Sebastian! Happy new year! Bal d'Afrique is a great scent, but my no 2 Byredo after Unnamed thats sadly not available anymore. 3rd is Le Tulipe and 4th is Pulp, still need to sniff the new more expansive range. I also like Slowdance....
Happy New Year!!
Great list however Byredos groundbreaking fragrance 1996 is missing
Mixed Emotions is my favorite however la botte if I could find in the States would be my number one.
LOVE pulp.For me the best
❤️ Bibliothèque, Bal d'Afrique, Rose Of No Man's Land, and Byredo Unnamed.
I have only smelled a handful of Byredo. The best for me out of those I've smelled was Bibliotheque but even that one wasn't full bottle worthy for me.
This is my favorite, indeed my signature at this point. I’m on bottle #2, with a backup waiting patiently.
@@cynthialawson364 I don't have a signature scent, but I agree with you about Bibliothèque. I adore that scent in the Fall.
About time.
Happy New Year!!!
❤ Byredo. Happy New Year 🎊🎉🎆
PULP
Greatest summer niche ever
Elevator is most definitely 🔥 "THUMBS UP"🥊🔔
I am not a big fan of the look of the perfume bottles, so I needed a while to be cuious enough to order a sample of Bal d´afrique... I am now a fan of it. It is very suitable as an gentle perfume to wear as an office fragrance and I think it is unisex, but is good for men to wear. Creamy, a little bit fruity, and a little bit woody. The vertiver is not very present for me. I really do like it.
I own two bottles from this house - Bal D'Afrique & Mumbai Noise. They are both fantastic and take you on an olfactory journey.
I have Animalique, Bal D Afrique, Slow dance, and Casablanca Lily loved them
My 5 Favorite:
Mojave Ghost
Gypsy Water
Super Cedar
Bibliotheque
Rose of No Man's Land
(Somehow haven't smelled Bal d'Afrique)
B'al dalafrique... I do have a large sample of Rose of no man's land. I hardly touch becuase it didn't come with spray nozzle. Miniature bottle is so cute.
Happy New Year! I have three from the brand and I would rank them: 🌟1. Gypsy Water
2. Accord Oud
3. Eleventh Hour
Performance on accord?
@@AbdulAzizAlkendi Very good. More than eight hours.
What do you think about Gypsy Water, Slow Dance, Bibliotheque and Mojave Ghost? :)
I really enjoy your way of explaining how fragrances smell! Me and my wife have smelled and owned a few Byredos. Most of them come of quite light and don't last more than 2-3 hours on us. My favourite is Oud Immortel and my wife's is Rose Of No Mans Land. They give you that feeling of smelling great confidence.
THANK YOU! :)
Agreed! That’s why i prefer TF
Oddly here in Indonesia, tropical weather, they have amazing longevity, BdA and Mojave Ghost are like 10-12 hours staying on myself, Pulp is just like a beast.
