Me and husband just fell in love with Bal d'Afrique. Glad it made your top list since we haven't managed to smell a lot from them but the few we tested left us underwhelmed.
Bal d'Afrique is my absolute favourite as well! Signature scent. I've actually just bought it again and got a sample of Pulp, and I'm in love! Might be my new favourite for summer :)

I agree on the Bal D’afrique! I’ve never smelt anything like it and instantly fell in love with it! So fresh and powerful but not overbearing! It smells expensive if that’s a thing lol

I love Byredo, it’s such an underrated house. Yes, the lasting power it’s not great but, i have Flowerhead and it last all day on me.
I put a lot of juice when i am wearing Bal D’Afrique and i can still smell it after 6-8 hours.
I took your advice. I bought the 11th hour byredo. Love the smells especially in the cold environment.

I definitely get the most compliments from bal d'afrique. I love wearing Sundazed on hot summer days, and wear Gypsy Water and Mojave Ghost more situationally when I'm going to be in closer quarters (flying for example). I don't own it but Eleventh Hour always reminds me of Christmas.

The way u described Pulp that it was meant for Avatar and the fact Byredo release Space Rage which basically Pulp "The Remix" makes me jawdrop, hha!
You convinced me to get Bal d'Afrique and oh! It's beautiful. Also like Eyes Closed (cinammon bun in a perfume), Bibliotèque for cooler days and absolutely love Rose of No Man's Land. Need to get my hands on Pulp before I can't! Do not understand Mojave Ghost's hype... really don't. Nice video and thank you!
Today I purchased bibliotheque and tried sprayed pulp on my skin and it was love at 1st sniff. its now on my must purchase list
I went to by "Gypsy Water", but ended up with "Bal d'Afric"! "Slow Dance" is a great one in the Byredo collection I think. All these are my top 3 once😘 And you are so right, they don't hold on for 12 hours like Tom Ford's, but indeed some of the best unique scentes. It's so much fun to refresh them through the day🥂❤️ And I love your CZcams videos, thank you so much.

Thank you Claudia! I get that longevity is very important to many people but ultimately doesn't determine quality (naturals tend to have poorer last power vs synthetics). Interesting to get everyone's perspective on this. Love Bal d'Afrique... it's just so good!

I’m wearing Velvet Haze at work today and it’s quickly becoming one of my signature scents. So cozy and comforting, just what we need in this times. 🥰 I know Bal d’Afrique is supposed to be a summer scent, but I can’t wait to see how it performs in fall/winter (just got my full bottle on a crazy good resell deal 🙌🏽).
Funny enough I only wear Bal d'Afrique in the winter!

I tried the pulp you mentioned , too sweet like you said. It does smells good.
Amazed me you described Pulp as” fig & rhubarb” Very unique scent when I try it but I can’t put it in words.. till I heard fig & rhubarb
My Brother just bought me a bottle of 1996 for my Birthday. It's my first Byredo perfume as I normally wear Le Labo or Vilhelm. But I tried the handcream of 1996 and liked it.
I’m in love with Biblioteque😍 it’s on my wishlist, I have and love Mojave ghost and a set of 3x12 ml but don’t remember the names, also I like Sundazed a loooot

I just smelled it the other day. My friend gave me a decant. I ordered a 100ml 2 days after haha. So so good!

I only have one Byredo, La Tulipe. It's a beautiful light flower garden scent.
I actually don't mind if a scent doesn't last because I like changing up my scent a couple of times a day.
La Tulipe and Bal d’Afrique are my two favourites and signature smells. It’s so subtle and delicate and I just love La Tulipe 🌷
I haven’t tried this house yet. Some of the ones I’m interested in are B’al d Afrique and Blanche.
Love this kind of content! ❤️🤗👏👏👏 I acctually had a signaturescent long time ago from Byredo - Palermo, bitter orange/citrus scent, loved it, but it is discontinued. Velvet haze sounds so intriguing and beautiful!

The only Byredo that I own is Bal D'afrique 💖 oh my gosh, love at first sniff. I don't think I need to buy another Byredo perfumes anymore 😅 I'm already satisfied with Bal D'afrique 💞💞

I recently discovered a boutique near me in Montreal that sells the most amazing collection of niche fragrances and, though their service was honestly impeccable and my experience smelling their fragrances was amazing, I think your buying guides give such a great overarching idea of the brand and gives me the confidence to gravitate toward certain perfumes. I’d love to see a buying guide or best of niche or even a few mentions of these houses: l’Artisan Parfumeur, Penhaligon’s, Imaginary Authors, Carner, Maison Crivelli, , Heeley Parfums, Zoologist. Thanks so much for your highly insightful and entertaining videos!

I really enjoy Mojave Ghost as far as skin scents go. It's a lovely ethereal scent with a nice fruity musky touch. I get decent wear from it around 7h

Pulp is beast mode! Not all scents are strong but doesn’t mean all of Byredo is as such!
Black Saffron is the most underrated. It's amazing and intoxicating.

Hi Josephine-- do you have any thoughts on the Byredo extraits de parfum, particularly Casablanca Lily? I'm a tuberose lover and think it smells so good, but the extrait line is quite a bit more money than the standard line. Do you think these are worth it?

I agree with your first two!! I have them. Do you have tips to make it last? Layer it with Molecule 2 maybe?
Definitely try layering with molecule 02 and moisturize your skin too. I have a full video dedicated on how to make your fragrance last longer :D
“Rose of no Man’s Land” is my absolute favorite from the brand and actually my signature scent. In my skin and clothes I must say it last 12+ hours with a cloud around me of 3/4 hours.

@@hajarmsaad4987 “Bal D’afrique” was a surprise to me as well, i tried it on paper and it was meh, but on the skin the difference is WILD, is a woody/green/sweet scent in my eyes, it last really well plus the projection was great.
if you prefer stronger ones, a sweet leather “Black Saffron” and a woody spicy “Eleventh Hour” both last amazing as well.

I'm not the biggest fan of Byredo, but I must admit the brand has some really nice scents. I have the La Sélection Valentine 6x 12 ml: Blanche, Gypsy Water, Mojave Ghost, Bal d’Afrique, Rose de No Man’s Land and Black Safran.
My wife love Gypsy Water and in the meantime she has a 100 ml bottle and a 100 ml Bottle from Bal d’Afrique is on the buying list.

@@jusderose The longevity from Bloody Wood is not the best, on my skin around 6 h, the projection time is 1 1/2 h max 2 h then the scent tone down to an skin scent. I love Bloody Wood very much and I'm happy to have now a 100 ml bottle 😊

Bal D'Afrique is my new signature scent, along with Almaz, which does have a similar profile to my nose. I've not seen a video comparing the two but I'd love to know what you think?

Maybe it's the level of humidity... Byredo lasted 10 hours on me.
I tried the bibliotheque today. Strong sandalwood, but soothing.
Mojave ghost is by far my favorite from Byredo. Projection/sillage is weak but it lasts days on clothes.
Might layering these with an oil, such as their dupe from Oil Perfumery, potentially aid their performance?
Great take on Byredo. Thanks 👍👍👍 There’s a powerhouse in their release and that is Oud Immortel. Oud Immortel connects a bridge between niche and designer. That is so state of the art and long lasting and there’s no offensive Oud (for those who doesn’t like Oud). Longing for your take on that, in future. Thanks again

Oh yes. Jus de Rose described it spot on. It’s one my top favourite fragrances in niche category. It has cigarette /ashtray type smell with that immortelle, all together persistent.. lingers .on and on and on. I bought it from Selfridges few years back.Oud Immortel is a benchmark, it's blended so well

I have rose of no mans land and it last FOREVER on my skin!! I sprayed it on my clothes once and I can still smell it 2-3 weeks later
How does it smell? Sweet? Floral? Woody?
@@JKbtsforevs22 it wasn’t like a super rosy scent, it has a hint of rose and high dose of woody musk base to it. Not even a hint of sweetness IMO. It is pretty unisex slightly leaning towards feminine. Top notes only last for an hour and after that I can only smell the musky base note, and the base note last forever on my skin and my clothes

They have a collab with ouai now to combine Mojave ghost with their dry shampoo formula.
I find that gypsy water actually lasts forever on my skin and projects super well.. I can spray it on my clothes and it will stay until the next wash. It’s the one byredo fragrance that preforms really well in my opinion!
1996 also has great performance!

I tried bal d Afrique and for some reason felt I smelled like a nice candle. I put off Mojave ghost bc I smelled Kristen ess hair products, and though nice, wouldn’t want to smell like all the time. Gypsy water just works for me..fresh, versatile, cool but soft. I feel it works year round

If I'm not mistaken, every perfume in your list comes from perfumer Jerome Epinette who is an absolute genius and my favorite in the industry.
Bal D’Afrique smells like heaven ! But unfortunately he doesn’t last enough on the skin
I recommend if someone is considering Pulp that they get decant first. I found it loud and smelling of rotten fruit to my nose. Don't think I'd enjoy smelling it off someone either but never has so can's say for sure.
