    The perfect 240. Quiet enough to be convincing, practically indestinguishable visually from stock, and yet many times the original horsepower. I love it.

  • @gordocarbo

    Well thought out build, the wheels and quiet exhaust, absence of kiddie flares scoops and cheap mufflers make this car awesome!
    Dont understand the hateful comments....must be miserable to be them!
    This is a proper LT swap...not cheap done right but will hold up over time

    That has to be the best looking 262C out there! Perfect and reliable power from the new LT1 and nice that everything has been kept stock and those wheels are phenomenal!

    Oh Man your breaking my heart ❤ I bought one just like yours in 1988 its 6 cylinder had been replaced with a 4 cylinder but I didn't care I am the Bertones biggest fan, that car was totaled then a couple of years later I bought the all black metal Bertone .I used to get stopped everywhere I went by admirers, if I had one wish I would love to have the one you have! You are a very lucky man ✌💪

    Just a small correction - it was designed in-house, not by Bertone. Bertone was only involved in final assembly.

      @@SilentDMotorShow great car mate, really love it. This is what I got on the Bertone design ... Volvo arranged with Bertone to build the coupe. Bertone building the roof pillars, roof pan, windshield surround, cowl, and the upper parts of the doors. So the upper part was Bertone built. That's the uniqueness of the 262C.

    I own one like this, 79 model year, euro specs, silver with vinyl roof. What an amazing car, everything original and stock. handles terribly and is seriously underpowered, but the looks of it are so unique. I agree with everything you said, the procedure you have applied to yours is top notch, when time, money and wifey agree some time this is the way to go 👍

    Slow was only the beginning of the bad news with the original 262 engine. Mine had less than 100k miles and ticked like a beater Subaru. If I remember correctly, the pushrods clogged too easily and deprived the heads of oil, so the top end needed rebuilding every 30k miles.

      @lfo414 Před 3 lety +1

      Pushrods eh??

    • @bobjohnson1587
      @bobjohnson1587 Před 2 lety

      I drove mine for 13 years, traded it in when it had 205K miles on it, and it never '"ticked like a beater Subaru". Of course I changed the oil and filter every 3,000 miles - or less - and always used top quality oil and Volvo filters.
      On the other side of the coin, there was a fellow in my town who owned a '76 265GL who never changed his oil and was replacing his cams very 30K miles. Go figure!

    The Volvo 262 Bertone was a total miscarriage, in style and in mechanics. Bertone should be ashamed for such a bad styling (for ex. a far to low roof) and clumsy features. Maybe the worst issue of his brillant career. As for mechanics, you says it all: also a failure for having cut down two cylinders (!) The result: a too loud engine with no overdrive, nor enough power but also dursty; a very uncomfortable car to drive above 100km/h! I had one for about two years but was even happy to sell him out for a few money: no one was interested, above all here in Switzerland. Too heavy and totally unfit for our snowy mountains. In Europe this sort of Volvo was a total failure, however some Americans love it because remembering a little (but ugly) Rolls for boasters.
