  • Forget the $45 "Tire Wax" and other fancy products, for less than $10 you can get new looking - super clean - white wall tires; and that $10 will cover YEARS of cleaning.

I've used Westley's Bleche-White for over 50 years and it does a great job with just a scrub brush. I don't like armor-all on my tires because it comes off at highway speeds and ends up on the side of the car. Still, a good video for how to.

True story. That Westley's is the best. Of course, they don't make tires like they did 50 years ago. I recently bought a 1976 Cadillac that had an original tire as the spare. I took it out and cleaned it (just for show) and it looks better than the brand new ones on the car. Thanks for watching!

@@westofthelakecadillacclub I learned that Westley's sold out out and isn't as good as what I knew. Powdered Ajax with a scrub brush or an SOS pad also were what I used before I discovered Westley's. They both work great.

I use a pumice stone and it does the job

That's a great idea! I haven't seen a pumice stone since my mother's pickle brush, I've go to go look for one; it helps get the grease off of your hands too.

@@westofthelakecadillacclub I haven't used one in over 20 years. Lol. I just bought a super clean 78 coupe deville and went out looking for one and found it at Walgreens. Aside from that, I also use the bleche white too first, then the pumice stone on the WW and rinse.

What brand of tires are those ?

    • @westofthelakecadillacclub

Those are Coker Dimension IV tires that are now discontinued. The new Coker American Classics are not tires I would buy for my cars because of poor quality and customer service (in MY experience - thank you lawyers). Diamondback makes a very good tire, but they refuse to update their whitewall size recommendation, despite being shown authenticity data. On 1975 and 1976 full sized Cadillacs, the whitewall size is 1.6 inches (Diamondback insists they are 2 inches and that is wrong) on 1977 to 1979 full sized Cadillacs the whitewall size is 1.3 inches (Diamondback insists they are 1.6 inches and THAT is wrong). Spend your money on the Diamondbacks, but insist on the correct whitewall size regardless of what they want to sell you. These tires only have a few thousand miles on them, but they are about to "age out" and I will be replacing them with 1.6 inch Diamondbacks.

They are discontinued Coker Dimension IV Radials. If you look at the comments below, you’ll see that I don’t recommend new Coker tires because I’ve found their quality to have slipped (in my opinion, thank you lawyers). Look at Diamondback radials, but make sure you get the correct whitewall size.

I’m sorry, for some reason I never saw your question. Those are old Coker Dimensions, they aren’t made anymore and I don’t respect the quality of the Coker American Classics, so I’d suggest Diamondbacks with a 1.6 inch whitewall. Diamondback insists that car takes 2 inch whitewalls, but they are wrong, buy the 1.6.
