You said it yourself, Sonic has an extremely skewed perspective. The tier list for the top 0.01% of players is vastly different than the tier list for everyone else.

The tier list can be changed around only slightly tho, but he’s right 99% of people who play MK1 or any fighting game in general sucks, besides the portion of us who actually practice and don’t complain.
Being an online warrior is one thing even if you're at the highest rank, but actually competing and doing well in tournaments is another thing. The majority aren't high level tourney players which is probably the 1%, and yeah the other 99% are just online warriors who'd get smoked by the 1%.
Retrhoe and Faysal made a lot of point with Kitana. Retrhoe's endless loop in the corner and their confirms are freaking insane. Faysal is a god with KhamKit combo, but I agree too, Retrhoe is a tad bit better. Not to mention, Retrhoe basically utilized everything annoying about Kitana to the highest level. Also, dang, the salutation to Retrhoe is freaking major. I've been a Retrhoe fan since MK1 released and to see them get acknowledged by THE G.O.A.T of MK is amazing.

I play Quan and your analysis is so on point. People jail me all the time with Johnny and Ashara. Too quick. And with no meter I just get stuck in corners and punished when I try to air stomp out of desperation.

As a Quan main this puts a smile on my face. I’ve been saying since day one that he is GARBAGE compared to everyone else in the roster and a majority say otherwise and put him in mid tier…the only reason why you would up-play this character is because you just don’t know how to fight him and/or you’re just that garbage. After playing at least 2 matches against him you realize how EASY it is to counter him. SMH 🤦♂️ PLEASE BUFF QUAN
Kenshi Johnny Tanya Reiko Raiden and Sindel have consistently been top tier, characters like Shang, Havik, Reptile, Sub, Scorp, and Nitara have consistently been bottom tier
I really want to see how you would use Havik. He was my main for a while, but I was having a hard time winning against people that actually knew the match up
That's Havik for you. He's a threat when you don't know the matchup. But once you do, you see the landslide of gigantic gaps in his moveset. His armor is so weak you can get a small normal or even string, flawless block it and then punish. His B2 is slow and has a gap on all options, and without Mavado, he loses on every exchange. His s1 range is shit, and his 22 hitbox is so small I get blown up more CONSISTENTLY just because of the tiny hitbox on the 2nd hit making everything whiff
buff ideas, spread the word Havoc: He needs at least five new attack strings, he needs his legacy move that titan havoc has were he takes off his head and rolls it but its a mid, has the same affect as reptiles acid ball, and also hits mid exploding on contact. he also needs another one of his legacy moves that again titan havoc has where he bends his hole body for a low projectile and the amp of that can be a knock down allowing for combo extentions for cameos like scorpion Sub-zero: he needs his attack strings made slightly faster except for his overhead, he also needs 1or 2 new attack string launchers, both his regular and amp iceball needs to be faster to not only be able to combo with it off of normal attack strings but in juggle combos too. He should have the ability to throw his ice clone, i also think he should have his ice burst special back with the same proporties as mkx to compliment his ice clone(but just does not send you that far away). lastly he needs some of his damage scailing off ground freeze. Scorpion: should be buffed by making his amp ground tp a launcher again and make the cancel built in to both his regular and amp tp. buff the amp hellfire move by removing the damage over time and making it function like how it does in mkx allowing him to combo after hitting it. he needs new strings some mix ups(i personally want his mkx overhead back). some moves need to be sped up Quan shi: needs his mind control move from mkx back, and make half his attack strings faster. and finally his low tentacle needs to be one bar Raiden: change raiden's b2 back to the mkx launcher but make it as slow as sub'z b2. give him back his vicinity blast move back with the same properties as mkx. Give him back his mkx amp lightning projectile back for combo extentions but have his regular fully charged move have the same proportys as the amp. he also needs to be buffed by making his amp electrocute special launch no matter how many bars he uses liu kang: for starters nerf his f4 one button pressure but give him his 113 mkx launcher back along with maybe one or two more new attack strings. make his low fireball slightly faster, change his air fireball to the mkx fireball and the amp the one we have now. give him back his mk 11 dragon parry, and finally make his fatal blow start up 2 hits but the first one restands kung lao: nerf tf out of his wake up special by making it unsafe af on block. give him back his mkx or 9 spin back but have it have work the same as mk11 so he can use it more than two times in a combo. swap his dive kick now for a mix between his mkx or 9 dive kick. he needs his mkx tp, and his low hat back, but nerf his mix up buttion's he has now by making the overhead follow up slightly slower. give him his mk11 21212 attack string and his mkx 44 launcher attack string back. and also he needs his hat spin. Nitara: buff her by making her command dash like homelander so for instance all of her normal attack strings that leaves her in the air cost no bar anymore to command dash and it cost no bar when she is in the air command dashing for combos but the next one after that does. and also make fer overhead that leaver her in the air slightly faster. lastly give her back her legacy projectile move back. y'all stay tune i got more heat for every character
For subzero i think with small buff he will good Just buff his ice clone recovery, make his ice clone projectile (forgot what input) goes full screen And make his ice ball can connect with his string

Maybe i think a bit differently then pros. But it is important info. Ive learned through playing and even seeing more pros play each other it seems to me its just about how you play any character against your opponent. Your my homie sonic but even tho your first tier was putting someone like scorpion at the bottom, you did get beat by him lol. No hate or anything i just think it may be the perspective of the player. Pro player more importantly. Over the years frame data is so important and vital to know that i get why we keep doing these tier list. Mk11 cage and Scarlet was bottom tier but everyone made them high tier. Honeybee played dvorah and because he was one of ones playing her, alot of people couldn't touch him. So thats just my only opinion. It all seems to come to the knowledge of what you know and your opponent knows.
Sometimes I like to think like you but then why tf we witnessed that abomination of a tournament that was Final Kombat like that was so ugly only 2 characters for the most part... So I'm not sure you're right I mean wtf 1 characters gets a 9 frame mid while the rest doesn't and why some characters hae plus frames all over and others doesn't.. This tierlists are irrelevant when it comes to casual play though.. I will always play the characters I like the most visually and their moves set or their story.. So I play 1.Smoke 2.Tanyq 3. Sindel 4. Nitara I would have played more Nitara but hit confirming with her is a bit harder than with the other 3 and I'm not that good still

Ranked FT3 has always been a horrible idea. Nobody wants to spend that much time playing against the same person. If you beat me in 2 matches, cool I'll go on to the next opponent If I beat you in 2 matches, cool you go on to the next person. But potentially playing 5 matches in ONE set is a pain in the ass when you're just trying to chill and have fun/rank up.

I agree with almost everything he says but saying Kitana has no weakness is a little crazy. Her mix is pretty weak outside of wind bomb stuff (which is not easy to get in high level btw since Kitana is not typically putting you in the corner, which is why we dont ever see wind bomb setups in pro play) and she has gaps after the first hits of her 2 best strings, S2 and B2. This might not seem like a big deal until you realize how safe armor can be in this game, and some characters even get full combos on reversal- specifically 2 other top tiers, Lao and Tanya. She's good but yall be up playing this character.
Fully agree. She's been my main since the beta and while she is good, once you lab her, she becomes so exploitable. Also, that Shang matchup is not remotely enjoyable.

Ashrah is strong as fk lol great normals, crazy damage, great reach so neutral is strong, plus projectile, dark stance is crazy good, solid over head, amazing armour (probably best in game), and Sareena gives full screen combos. I main Ashrah so can say for a fact if you are playing against a good Ashrah she's a problem.

He’s a rush down, rush down characters have lots of plus frames. They need it, characters with further reaching normals or good zoning don’t need plus frames.

Raiden: change raiden's b2 back to the mkx launcher but make it as slow as sub'z b2. give him back his vicinity blast move back with the same properties as mkx. Give him back his mkx amp lightning projectile back for combo extentions but have his regular fully charged move have the same proportys as the amp. he also needs to be buffed by making his amp electrocute special launch no matter how many bars he uses
liu kang: for starters nerf his f4 one button pressure but give him his 113 mkx launcher back along with maybe one or two more new attack strings. make his low fireball slightly faster, change his air fireball to the mkx fireball and the amp the one we have now. give him back his mk 11 dragon parry, and finally make his fatal blow start up 2 hits but the first one restands
kung lao: nerf tf out of his wake up special by making it unsafe af on block. give him back his mkx or 9 spin back but have it have work the same as mk11 so he can use it more than two times in a combo. swap his dive kick now for a mix between his mkx or 9 dive kick. he needs his mkx tp, and his low hat back, but nerf his mix up buttion's he has now by making the overhead follow up slightly slower. give him his mk11 21212 attack string and his mkx 44 launcher attack string back. and also he needs his hat spin.
Nitara: buff her by making her command dash like homelander so for instance all of her normal attack strings that leaves her in the air cost no bar anymore to command dash and it cost no bar when she is in the air command dashing for combos but the next one after that does. and also make fer overhead that leaver her in the air slightly faster. lastly give her back her legacy projectile move back.

Ive learned through playing and even seeing more pros play each other it seems to me its just about how you play any character against your opponent. Your my homie sonic but even tho your first tier was putting someone like scorpion at the bottom, you did get beat by him lol. Over the years frame data is so important and vital to know that i get why we keep doing these tier list. Mk11 cage and Scarlet was bottom tier but everyone made them high tier. Honeybee played dvorah and because he was one of ones playing her, alot of people couldn't touch him. So thats just my only opinion. It all seems to come to the knowledge of what you know and your opponent knows.

I agree with almost everything he says but saying Kitana has no weakness is a little crazy. Her mix is pretty weak outside of wind bomb stuff (which is not easy to get in high level btw since Kitana is not typically putting you in the corner, which is why we dont ever see wind bomb setups in pro play) and she has gaps after the first hits of her 2 best strings, S2 and B2. This might not seem like a big deal until you realize how safe armor can be in this game, and some characters even get full combos on reversal- specifically 2 other top tiers, Lao and Tanya. She's good but yall be up playing this character.
Fully agree. She's been my main since the beta and while she is good, once you lab her, she becomes so exploitable. Also, that Shang matchup is not remotely enjoyable.

Ashrah is strong as fk lol great normals, crazy damage, great reach so neutral is strong, plus projectile, dark stance is crazy good, solid over head, amazing armour (probably best in game), and Sareena gives full screen combos. I main Ashrah so can say for a fact if you are playing against a good Ashrah she's a problem.

He’s a rush down, rush down characters have lots of plus frames. They need it, characters with further reaching normals or good zoning don’t need plus frames.
