Male Tiger Chasing Jeep in Ranthambore National Park | Goosebumps Guaranteed | Tiger Mock Charge

  • Hello Wildlife Lovers.
We are posting this video for the following reasons:
    1. To thank and salute the forest department of Rajasthan for their efforts to train humble and expert drivers and naturalists, who put their heart and soul to ensure the safari experience of all tourists is safe
    2. To spread awareness among future tourists on what not to do on a wildlife safari
    3. To open the eyes of those who do not respect the rules of the jungle
    So here is what happened.
After the first two hours in a long evening safari, our two fellow tourists on the jeep started getting frustrated with no tiger sighting. Usually, we do individual safaris with our team, but because of heavy tourism footfall on a festival day, we could only book four seats instead of 6.
The two people who joined us were novices in the wild and were not very aware of the rules of the jungle.
As we were about to leave the forest, our humble driver and naturalist suggested taking a couple of pictures from the hilltop. All the other jeeps were disheartened with silence in the jungle and decided to get down from the hill. But we waited a little longer.
Suddenly as we reached the top, towards our right, next to the concrete wall, we saw a yellow and black striped big cat. A sub-adult Tiger identified as one of the male cubs of T-8, aka Laadali.
Usually, when you encounter a wild animal so close to the vehicle in the safari, it is crucial to be seated peacefully and make no noise. But co-incidentally, this part of the hill had complete network coverage and our fellow jeep mates, who had their mobile phone on loud ringer mode, started video calling their families.
As you can see in the video, the Tiger got frustrated with the disturbing noise and eventually chose to mock charge us.
We will post a complete breakdown of this video explaining the series of events that happened. But for now, we want you to feel this moment and enjoy what you see.
MAKE A NOTE OF THESE TWO THINGS BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY JUDGEMENTS:
    a. The guide/naturalist and driver were humble people who helped us out of this situation. Usually, when things like these happen, they are easily blamed for their negligence, and they lose their jobs. But we forget that the tourists can sometimes be responsible too.
    b. The behavior of the Tiger is also crucial here. The body language is not attacking mode, instead a mock charge mode. A mock charge is nothing but an attempt to scare the vehicles away from their territory. Tigers are incredibly territorial animals and, if disturbed, do not tolerate any nonsense in their homes. Imagine if someone comes to your house and suddenly behaves like this. You would do the same.
We hope you enjoy this video. Let us know in the comments what you feel about this.

Yea but making noise can actually save you in the wild, as it alerts animals to your presence. And most animals are avoidant of humans. Here in North America they tell people walking in the mountains to talk loudly or say “hey bear!” repeatedly, as to not take any bears by surprise. That’s when they get really angry. It’s the same I know in India, the sloth bears are notorious for being surprised by people and then attacking ferociously. I would say the only time to be quiet is if a mother animal and babies are being observed, or you’re watching birds, reptiles or deer or something. They like peace. Most carnivores though it’s good to make noise so they know you’re there, you’re loud, and you’re “bigger” and more “dangerous” lol
